We brought quotes for the flooring that we wanted from other stores, and Stan beat all of their prices. He was even able to special order the LVP wood flooring that we wanted, even though it wasn't one that they normally offered. We ordered all of the flooring for our house, including carpet, lvp tile, and lvp wood. The process was easy, and the products were exactly what we were looking for. Their salesman, Stan Aldridge, misled us, lied or was ignorant on some details of the floor, specifically how it could be laid. This left us with floors that couldn't do what we wanted them to. But that is not the worst of our dealings with this place. I discovered a fraudulent charge on our credit card. Through some inquiries I discovered that the charges were a porn subscription. Through further investigation I found out the email address attached to the porn subscription was stana...@gmail.com. In looking at our past statement I noticed the subscription was started on the same day we bought the floors from Stan Aldridge. Didn't take much to put this together. On the day we went down to the store in Dalton to discuss these issues, Stan was not there. We dealt with the Vice President (apparently the owners' son) Jason Stanley. When told of what happened with the credit card, Jason did not seem surprised at all which I thought was odd. Jason indicated that he felt the only option was to let Stan go. He also offered to refund the fraudulent charges on our credit card, however I had already turned it in to the credit card company. Jason gave no indication whatsoever that he didn't believe his employee had stolen our card information. In fact, at the end of our conversations that day, Jason reiterated that Stan would be terminated. Jason also indicated he would be sending us an area rug free of charge for our troubles. (Further indication that he did not doubt his employee had lied and stolen customer information.) Of course a rug never appeared at our house, not that I wanted it anyway. A week or so later, I saw Stan representing FloorMax on a home segment on the morning news. Today I had someone call FloorMax to see if Stan was still employed and she was told he would be in later today. So in a nutshell, the owners of this company were made aware of their employee not only misleading a customer regarding their product but also stealing a customer's credit card information, and they apparently are just fine with it. Please don't patronize this business. These people are liars and thieves and do not deserve your money. read more

Found it very interesting to just get this...when the slow boat from China finally arrived, my husband drove 10 hours round trip to pick up to make sure we got what we ordered. He discussed his issues with Jason Stanley's father (you????) regarding the poor level of customer service. Before my husband left, Jason (son of owner...social misfit?) told him he hoped our floor warped within 6 months...a customer who spent over $4000 with you! Well...we passed that 6 months mark & no warping. Fortunately your product is much better than your service and business attitude. They have the worst service of any kind in USA. False estimation. Add couple of grands to their estimated price. add the hotel fees and other extras for their crews to the price. Add couple of weeks to the estimated time of finishing the job. Oh by the way expect a good 3-4 weeks delay for your wood to arrive from China , Then you have to go and pick them up yep in my case 9 tons of wood. I got behind the curve in my home remodeling when a local flooring supplier completely dropped the ball and put me a week behind. Lauren stepped in and saved the day. She really listened to my vision and feel for flooring and sent several photos of products that she felt would be a fit for my needs. She was right! The only catch was the product I chose was brand new to the market and had to be drop-shipped from Houston. Again another delay? Thankfully NO. Lauren micro-managed the shipping and made sure it was expedited. I received 1049 Square Feet of 3/4" x 7.5" flooring in two days! The reason for my time crunch was that my wife was on a cruise with her mom and I wanted to have the floor installed upon her return. My wife was thrilled with the floor and over-uses the word "beautiful" and "perfect" a lot. The only way I came out the hero was with the help of Lauren and Floor Max Direct. read more

There is a reason that Floormax doesn't have any good reviews. -They don't tell you about their policies of all deposits and sales being final until they run your credit card for the deposit (and it's not listed on their website either). -The owner, Jerry Stanley, is extremely rude and arrogant. Mr. Stanley, acting like you are better than your customers is no way to practice business--no matter how LONG you've been in business. -They'll sell you a floor, tell you all sales are final (even if I don't get what I expected?) then have another company in another state "guarantee" the product. Bam, they're done with you and got your money. No thank you. read more

what a waste of $6k. Purchased solid walnut floors from home show in gwinnett. Salesman used a wire brush to scrape floor back and forth to show you strength of wood and finish. Well my 30 lb. dog was able to scrape up the floor in a matter of days. The salesman said it was russian walnut. The box said made in china. The floor within weeks started to crack and flakes of the finish came off. Expensive lesson. Will never buy from Floormax Factory Outlet again. read more

I met the people from Floormax at a Home and Patio Show and looked at some flooring. They sent samples and we discussed over the phone, and they sent more, then discussed it again and they sent more samples. I think they sent 4-5 boxes before 'the one' appeared. It was a gorgeous 7" plank oil-rubbed, wire-brushed European Oak that was milled in the USA and because of a year-end special it was under $5 a square foot!! I never dreamed I would be able to afford a floor like this, so we ordered it and it was shipped to our city in Florida to a shipping facility. My son took his truck and I took my SUV and we managed to get it all in. Lauren was extremely helpful through the whole process and the products were everything I thought they would be. This is top quality wood with the thickest wood layer of any engineered wood, so it can be sanded and refinished more than once, perfect for a Florida home. A great way to get to know them is visit them at the Home & Patio Show in your area - check with them to see what cities they are in. They were very helpful and delivered on everything they said they would. read more

All the research says if you are going with Cabin Grade wood flooring you should purchase 15 - 20% extra for spoilage. If you purchase Cabin Grade from FloorMax you need to count on 30 - 40% spoilage. We purchased our flooring over a year ago with the understanding that we were building a new house and could not guarantee when we would be ready. When the first flooring came in it was not the color we had selected so we refused it. We took a sample box of another flooring home to see if it would match our decor...in the full box there was maybe 2 pieces that would not be suitable for installation. We went with this new flooring...big mistake. When we started opening boxes for installation, there was not a single box with less that 25 - 30% spoilage. FloorMax's repsonse....looks like Cabin grade, pull from more boxes. I have had 4 professionals look at the flooring and all four (totaling more that 100 years of experience) say it is the worst flooring they have ever seen. It is NOT even close to Cabin Grade, more like scrap. Don't get me started on the number of boards we found that had dead bees (yes BUGS) in them. At this point, we are stuck with the flooring and will have to make do....but take it from me YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH FLOORMAX!
