Bait and switch is the name of the game at Floor Crafters. I strongly advise people to avoid this business.
My experience with them began well enough. A man came to measure the places I needed new carpeting, and he was pleasant and professional. The trouble started when the carpet installers came. They pulled up the old carpet in the guest bedroom, the master bedroom, and the master bedroom closet. They laid down the padding in those 3 locations. However, when it came to the carpeting, there was just not enough. The square yardage fell just short of being able to cover an irregular wedge of space in a 5 1/2 foot by 6 1/2 foot walk-in closet. Okay, a mistake. These things happen. I was not at first worried. I figured they would take care of it.
But what happened next? Floor Crafters went into blamer mode. Although I was working with a designer, they told me that *I* had approved the invoice which stated the amount of carpet ordered - as if I know anything about these things! They told me that *I* had failed to show the closet to the man who came to measure, and then they told me how much it was going to cost *me* to carpet the closet, namely another $400+.
I don't think so.
Why they pulled up the carpet in the master bedroom closet if they did not intend to carpet it was not a question they could answer. Neither could they answer why there had been enough padding to cover the closet. When I told them they needed to look at the space in order to see what I was talking about, they had neither the courtesy nor the professionalism to come look at their handiwork. Nope. They left me with an unfinished job and walked away.
This is such a little thing. So easy to have fixed. Instead, I feel it is my duty to go on public sites to let the pubic know how Floor Crafters treats their clients. read more
