5 stars are hard to come by, but Arnold and his team really deserve it. I'm a property manager in Culver City and needed some hardwood floors refinished. I made an appointment with Arnold for a estimate, and he showed up on time and evaluated what needed to be done in a detail. I could already tell he knew what he was doing. I got 4 quotes and narrowed it down to 2. After talking to Arnold and seeing examples of his work, I decided he was the guy. We agreed to the contract, and he said it would take a week. First day of the job, he and his team showed up early and got to work immediately. They completed the floors for 4 units in less than a week. The job was done exactly as quoted and on time. There are so many reasons I would recommend Floor Maintenance Service: -Quality of work, Arnold and his team take pride in what they do. They pay attention to detail and don't take short-cuts -Honest, hard-working, and professional. That's not always easy to find -Arnold oversees the job himself and he was usually there to check on the progress -Communication- it was really easy to text and communicate with Arnold -Easy to work with. Communicated with Arnold almost everyday I was so happy with the floors that we agreed to additional handyman and painting work. (I was originally going to use another company). So far, that has been going great as well. The apartments looks awesome thanks to Arnold and his team. read more

Arnold was AWESOME! I'm usually a DIY person and had never used Angies list before. When he called I checked out his info and saw many raving reviews and one negative one. I learned a long time ago that you can't please everyone no matter how hard you try. When it came to the work he did for me I couldn't have asked for more. Prompt contact and communication from the very beginning. Fair price. Showed up on time. Very neat and clean. Once he started on my project it turned out to be way more difficult than expected. It ended up taking almost twice as long as expected. He never complained. He never asked for a dime more than the original estimate. And best of all the job came out perfect. I couldn't be happier and will use Arnold on future projects and refer him to anyone who needs anything done. read more

After spending an entire Saturday trying to sand an old hardwood floor with water stains my wife and I gave up and decided to look for a professional. Arnold came out to give estimate on a SUNDAY! He gave us a quote on refinishing the floor in two bedrooms and recommended that we patch in the water stains instead of using a dark floor stain. The results look GREAT! He did take a day longer than he originally estimated but that was mainly because the floor needed more repair than originally estimated. I would recommend him to anyone with older white or red oak wood floors in need of refinishing. He is reasonable, hard-working and like I said will come out on a Sunday. One other point worth highlighting he also answers his business phone on weekends which is almost unheard of these days. Had Arnold come back out and demo some bad tile work that the previous owner had done. He was very quick and reasonably priced. read more

I was looking for a new floor for my kitchen and bathrooms, I discussed the opportunity with major home builders and suppliers, got really high bids. I was not sure if I could do it with my budget. Then I came across Arnold , he saw my bids from other folks and cut the price of labor in half and it does not stop there, he offered me free delivery of materials if I would buy them. What a deal! They took a little longer to finish the project but the level of service and quality of job A+++ ratings, Vivian is like a majician who laid the ceramics tiles and bamboo floors, Arnold supervised the whole project and updated. It does not stop there, I bought a Hybrid Cayenne and needed a charger to be installed and Arnold made sure it got done with his electrician with some challenges but below reasonable cost!! Thanks to the team for doing such a GREAT job! read more

About the owner, Arnold, the one that certain people are praising: After leaving him my key, and trusting him to refinish my hardwood floor, I returned to see that he did not do the job as agreed. A drum sander, as shown on his website, was not used, and why he was finished sanding a large room in 2 hours. (he started at approx 10am and sent me a photo of the floor with sealer at 12:30) The dark scratches and scuff marks were not sanded out, which is the purpose of a drum sander, to sand down to the bare wood. (His worker showed me the machine he used on his iPhone later). He must had thought I would not notice the dark marks under all the gloss, or he couldn't see the dark scratches he left behind, which were not capable of being sanded out with the orbital-buffer they used. He also used my gallon of polyurethane without permission, when he said he supplied the finish (lets squeeze all the money we can out of someone) I told him and his worker to leave and did not pay him the $600 he quoted-- only for Arnold to immediately send back his employee, the one who did all the work, to demand his $500 pay. That was a horrible thing to do to his worker. I had to calm him down and explain that Arnold is his employer and owes him his pay (assuming he is telling the complete truth also). So, Arnold makes $100 for 6 hours to stand around and advise his worker to do the wrong thing. read more

Be very very careful choosing this contractor. He is a big liar. Do not pay him any deposit till he has done part of the work. I do not recommend him at all. He just came and got a deposit from us and never showed up. read more

I gave Arnold a call on Tuesday for an estimate repair on my carpet, we scheduled a time for 5 to 6pm, nobody showed up, I let him know that we have been waiting he said he ran behind, understandable he them txt me Friday saying he can be here at 3pm, I worked out my schedule to be here a second time and guess what another know show, very unprofessional, and waist of time! read more

Arnold G. came over to my house to give me a quote to have wood floors refinished. He said he forgot his measuring tool so he eyeballed the size of the room and gave me a quote. He came back to the house a second time to pick up the deposit and he looked around again. He said he would be back the next day to start the job. Next day one of his employees showed up and as soon as he walked in he said that he could not do it for the price his boss had quoted me and he just took off. He wasted 3 days of my time and put me behind schedule. I find it very unprofessional and would not recommend them. read more

Arnold is the man! I built out an art studio space and usually do all my projects DIY.. There was some super old linoleum tile on half of the floor space that was really tough to get off so I looked for someone to help me out. Arnold came the next day and gave me an estimate on the spot after checking out the space. I finally got around to calling him back and he came in a few days later to start the job. He originally estimated that it would take him 4 hours to complete, but the lino was on so hard it took him most of the day to tear out, he worked a solid 8 hours on my floor and it came out great! His pricing was fair and he did a great job. Highly recommended! read more

What can I say more than wow. Arnold took care of business from the initial call to the completion of the job. I have acid epoxy floors which require the utmost attention. Arnold sold me and provided exactly what was needed. A true professional. Much knowledge in the industry. If you need waxing polishing or anything else floor related from service to work, look no further. Thank you Arnold and your professional crew! read more

Fantastic service, Arnold was very pleasant to work with. Called him the day before told him what I wanted (tile removal), texted him pics to his phone with the square footage, got back to me right away with a quote. He came in the next day as scheduled, finished the job before noon. Cleaned up all the debris, did a clean job and was on his way. Best part about it he stuck to the original quote. Couldn't be happier with the experience. I will be calling you again for my floor maintenance needs and refer you to my pals. Thank you. read more

We renovated our house and installed all new wood floors about a year ago. The floor did not receive a polyurethane treatment. We were told it just needs to be oiled twice a year. Well.....the wood started splintering and as you can imagine there was lots of crying by my little ones from constant splinters in their feet. I called three companies and they all gave me comparable estimates. The difference with Arnold and his team is that he actually worked with me to make this process as easy as possible. The other two companies actually told me I had to move all of my stuff out of the house! Arnold worked with my needs and listened to what I wanted. There are very few timely, hardworking, and honest people left in this world and Arnold is one of them! I can not express enough how happy I am with the job Arnold and his team did!!! read more

Floor Maintenance Service - Perfection! - Flooring Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Arnold is a thief. Within a 4 day period on a job that he promised to complete in 3 days he asked for $2400 for "supplies". He painted my walls leaving the holes and damaged drywall not patched and destroyed my floor. He didn't complete the job and did not return calls or texts. He would occasionally tell me he was on his way and would never show up. His wife texted me that she couldn't find her husband, then told me he was gone for several days and she couldn't find him, then said he was asleep with his shoes on because he is so tired. None of that has anything to do with my project. I gave him a second chance and he tried to have me buy materials when I already gave him money for materials up font. He came one day and disappeared again saying his car was stolen. Arnold and his wife are both scam artist. They will ask you to pay with PayPal and NOT label it as a "purchase", they will make promises they cant keep, and disappear with your money leaving you no supplies, and a job not even half finished. Do not trust this man. I have lost buisness and clients because of these rotten people. I have texts from him and his wife. And pictures of what he did to my walls and floor if you need to see. read more

Arnold is a scam artist who takes the money for the project, doesn't finish the job and doesn't return your calls. Good luck getting anything done with this guy. read more

I called about having a small area of my original hardwood floors repaired and Arnold was out the next morning to look at my job. He determined that we wouldn't be able to match new material in with the existing floor so he suggested to take the original wood from the bedroom closet so the patched area would match perfectly and then we would carpet the closet. Unfortunately he had to cancel my first appointment to have the work done but he gave me a discount for the inconvenience, which was very thoughtful. Once they came out, the work was done within 2 hours and my floors look great. Would recommend but be prepared for possible schedule changes with late night texts the day before the job. Once they get in to do the work, though, it is done well and for a great price. read more

Arnold and his crew make miracles happen. They went above and beyond to make sure our floors came out great, despite them being wrought with cracks and high spots. He went the extra mile to make sure the final product came out as expected and we couldn't be happier. Thank you for helping us resolve our uneven and ugly floor issues. read more

Arnaldo was a refreshingly competent, careful, skilled service provider that finished a floor job (and more) in a timely and efficient manner. I recommend his services to anyone. He removed a bunch of stuck on linoleum off our concrete and polished/sealed after. Came out amazing. read more

I moved into a new house and wanted concrete floors and Arnold came out right away, gave me a reasonable quote and then made plans. Although the dates got shifted around little, he was communicative about it, which I really appreciated. Something happened with the floor sealer and he needed to come out and repair it - he came out himself instead of his guys to make sure the job was done personally. Now the floors are perfect. They look amazing and I am super happy. He was VERY apologetic and adamant about making sure that I loved them by the end... and I do. Good work here & great person to work with. Thank you!!! read more

Stop reading Yelp reviews, and call Arnold to fix your floors. He under-promises and over-delivers. Our floors were extremely uneven and had a lot of patched up areas. He ground everything down and applied a skim coat to make the floor more uniform in height. We can't be happier with the final outcome. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Thank you!!!! read more

This was a job that I thought I could do by watching videos on youtube and renting tools from homedepot. I'm really glad I chose Arnold to do this job. I would not have come close to doing it right. I would have ruined my floors. He did an awesome job. I'll be sure to pass his card along. read more

I recently tried to do a diy project for laminate installation. All of my work was perfect besides the angled parts. So at that point I figured I would find someone to complete the angled parts and baseboard. At first when Ronald and I discussed the job and price everything went well. He said that he wouldn't be available until the following week because he had jobs back to back. That was fine because I was in no rush. The next day he calls me and tells me that he can come the following day. When he comes he tells me that he needs to use my table saw because he didn't bring his. I thought it was a little weird but I let him use mine. It took him a full day (9:30-6:30) to complete a simple job that was pretty much complete (besides the angled parts). I was nice enough to buy him and his helper food because they have been working all day. Even after working the whole day he was not able to complete the job and the angled parts that I had the most trouble with we're still showing even after baseboards were installed. He said that he would need to come back the following day to finish the rest of the baseboard and t-molding for the transitions. before he left he said that he would need to get paid. I told him that I don't mind paying him half now and the rest later since the job wasn't completed. He continuously insisted that he needs the full payment that night. We went back and forth for sometime but I ended up giving him the full payment because it seemed like this guy wouldn't leave my house until I paid in full. As you might have guessed, following day comes along and he starts giving me excuses of why he can't come... it is now 2 weeks from the the time he came and multiple calls and texts with multiple excuses. In hindsight I should have never ever paid him until he completed the job. Should of made a bed for him to stay the night if he wouldn't leave that way I know he would be here the next morning. Guys, I do not like leaving bad reviews, check my account. I have my own business so I know how it affects a company. But this guy really deserved it. This guy is not a man of his words. Unprofessional. Have multiple texts and pictures of his job and excuses. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! This would be zero stars if I could. We hired Arnold to sand and stain the concrete floor in our new house and put in a baseboard component. He provided us with the costs for the job and we agreed to it. Things started off reasonably well. Arnold came to the house and began the work. He sanded the floor and stained it. Unfortunately he didn't cover the walls and some adjoining tile floors very well so there was stain covering those areas. He stopped work prior to sealing the floor and putting in the baseboard and was set to finish it after we had some other work done. We made the mistake of paying him at this point. Never again!! After the other work was done, we tried contacting him to finish the job. Now that he had been paid, he was hard to get a hold of, didn't respond to messages or texts and we had to try and try again to reach him. We finally did and he assured us he would come on a particular day. He didn't show up. We tried rescheduling. Again he assured us on multiple occasions that he would show up. He didn't. A third time we tried to get him to come. He told me he would be at the house at 7 am. I waited at the house until 7:30 and he didn't show up. I called and he gave some excuse why he was running late. No call or anything! During this ordeal, he didn't return calls, sent my calls to voicemail and didn't live up to his word. What's worse is we paid him for the total job and he didn't finish. Ultimately we decided to hire someone to finish because Arnold could not be trusted. I cannot discourage any potential clients enough to not do business with Arnold! read more

I am very happy with my result and Arnold's people worked hard. A few scheduling false starts but once started spent 4 days working hard in 100 degree heat to strip my very stubborn porch Saltillo tile. I think they significantly underestimated the effort but did not try to up the bid --- stayed honest , so I paid them more and gave extra tips because of it. Only suggestion is they finished stripping very late on the 4th day and then started adding on sealant. Since it was a Friday and they wanted to finish, they did the 2nd coat after a short drying period of the first coat at about 6:30!pm. Ideally they would have come back to do quality check and touchups the next day since it was getting dark when they left and it was hard to see if everything looked even. (Ideally stripping would be complete one day and sealant wouldn't be added until next day or if in same day then stripping would complete VERY early in the day which was not the case). I didn't have the heart to insist they come back because there were several spots that didn't "take" and needed another coat so I just decided to do the touch up myself. All in all though they gave me my$$ worth and I plan to use them again for other things (eg wood floor polishing). Thank you Arnold and team!! read more

RED FLAG: Fellow yelpers, after my horrible experience with Arnold's lack of professionalism I was inclined to leave this review. I am a huge supporter of small business, especially skilled workers. Arnold arrived late to our initial meeting, then informed me he had another project in line, but that he would start my project the following week. I was completely onboard given that my travertine bathroom cleaning, floor tile installation in my bathroom, and concrete overlay project wasn't urgent. I reached out on Friday to confirm his arrival time, and left a voicemail. He never responded, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt so I reached out again. He answered his phone and informed me he didn't know I was the one who called him. We agreed to proceed, but the start date would be pushed back a week because I had visit from out of town. He asked me to purchase the tile he would be installing, which I had no problem doing. He informed me he would be starting the project on Friday and wrapping up on Saturday. I reached out on Thursday to confirm what time he was planning to start Friday (today), he responded at around 8:30 pm via-text "lo siento" in essence that he was sorry. I ask him what happened, and he never responded. It was clear based on my interactions with Arnold that he is a good person, but simply lacks the business acumen and common courtesy. Word of mouth is key, so a small project can lead to major projects, especially given that I had two contacts waiting to have floor installed in their entire home and another that had a big epoxy project, you guessed it, they won't be reaching out to Arnold. Proceed with caution! read more
