I went for my birthday for a 90-minute float for the first time. I'm a long-time meditator, and I was amazed at how deeply I was able to move into meditation. Very nice man at the front. It was my first time and he showed me everything I needed to know. I used the cabin float tank. Once I got in there and floating it was very nice however, I kept feeling hair touch me. What I thought was the drain was covered in hair and when my hand floated over there it was not a nice surprise. read more

I was nervous about my first time and asked a lot of questions which the lady was very informative. I followed all of her instructions and after I rinsed off I tried to place the earplugs but that didn't work after showering. So I continued with what she told me to do and I was able to "float" for about 5 minutes WITHOUT earplugs... I have never had such a bad earache in both of my ears before. Obviously my float time was cut very short due to her not telling me to put the ear plugs in first. I would not recommend this place. read more

Last night was my first float ever and it was a good experience! The texting communication with Moni was simple and when I arrived, she was the one who greeted me and showed me the two floating tanks. I opted for the small one, and was somehow able to stay in for 85 minutes, just before the vibration and music began. Not only was the ship in prime condition, but the air lock was clean and perfectly accomodated. Super straightforward, safe, and clean. I now buy in bulk and give gifts to friends. This place is awesome. I have been three times now. Note, if you have any claustrophobia go for the cabin room. The first time you can keep it open a few inches with the yard stick. I was quite scared initially because I spent the first few weeks of my life in the incubator in a time where nobody picked you up or held you. I had nightmares about it for 40 plus years. Going back to this " voluntary spacious incubator room" has healed me greatly. It is helping me to rewire my brain. The OM Float is a beautiful way to heal, meditate and affirm. Go in slowly and backward holding on to the bar when you step inside. The first time I went in forwards, slipped and fell, but did not get hurt. The music at the end with Ankush playing his Indian instrument to wake you up is fabulous. Enjoy! read more

I purchased the 90-minute buddy float option. Unfortunately, I was put in a malfunctioning float tank that was too cold to relax in. I tried before giving up and walking to the front, cold and dripping salt water, to ask the staff person to fix it. She was very kind in trying but had no luck. They only have two tanks and my friend was in the other, so there was no chance of us having a positive buddy float experience that evening. I got back in the chilly one and tried to make a go of it but there is no blissful, neutral meditation when shivering. We were disappointed that we didn't get the shared experience I'd purchased, but good sports about it even after we learned this wasn't the first time it had recently malfunctioned. We presumed the owner would apologize and offer, at the least, a re-booked buddy float. That didn't happen. Despite his staff member alerting him of the issue while we were there, I didn't hear from him. I waited a few days then contacted him. He apologized for the malfunction, said it was working now and was content to leave it at that. We were open to a do-over or a refund but he balked at either. I communicated with him for 3 days before giving up. The lack of accountability and stalling on making it right, combined with a miserable experience will keep me from trying this business again or being able to recommend it. Had the owner been the sort of good sport my friend and I were, I would have been happy to have a do-over before giving a review but there's something wrong when the customer has to fight to give a business a chance. The lobby is nice, meant to be calming and full of art. There is ample parking on street and behind the building. The staff person working was nice and helpful. There's an option to buy blended oils and it's nice that they have cold water available after floats. The bathroom is outside of the business and a bit odd. Based on the hair, I'm guessing tubs aren't drained between use which makes sense, so think public hot tub more than private bath. And it smells like a school locker room, so those who are going for ambiance may wish to try elsewhere. EDIT: The owner's response is dishonest and further confirmation of shady business practices. The tank I was in had actually malfunctioned several times recently; this was the second time ever, nor did he offer anything until I pursued contact since he was non-responsive. It's ridiculous that he doesn't think a buddy float means a BUDDY float or that he thinks it's okay to treat Groupon customers so poorly, but either way: where the heck is the ownership? You offer a poor product and experience, you make it right. You don't throw a schoolyard fit. But hey, I guess I count my blessings that he doesn't also own a cheeseburger restaurant in this town! read more

The tanks have a very strong chemical smell and are not evenly heated. It is a great try at a service that is hard to perfect. The staff is abrasive and makes you feel like you coming in to float is an inconvenience. I had really high hopes for this place but it looks like I will continue to drive to Portland to float as Float OM continues to tweak their services to a higher standard. read more

Was a good experience never done anything like this so I really didn't know what I was doing. I showed up to my appointment and noone was there so I waited around for someone to stop by. I did a 90 min float, was relaxing. Using the pillow and ear plugs would have definitely went smoother. I didn't know though. I'd give it another try for sure though. read more

Terrible experience - if I could possibly give this place zero stars I would. I arrived early, because usually floatation centers want you to have time for an intake process. However the center was shut, and nobody was answering the phone. It was an extremely hot day, so I then had to deal with the discomfort and inconvenience of a long wait. I was joined by two other people who were also waiting. The owner arrived 5 minutes after the float was supposed to start, saying that his employee hadn't been able to come and so he had to step in the last minute. No explanation as to why he hadn't called to let us know. When we got into the building he suddenly realized that he had double booked the space - there were just two floatation tanks and three people. As the other two were a couple he suggested that they float together in the same tank! They'd never been floating before, and I had to intercede and tell them that this was a ridiculous idea. The couple rebooked, and I watched in disbelief as the owner didn't offer them any kind of discount as compensation for his mistake. He barely even apologized. I awaited my intake process. But there was none - apparently Float Om doesn't think that it's important to know what medical conditions you may have, or to get emergency contact details in case there's an issue. Instead, the owner tried to upsell me a bunch of products - first his photography, then his essential oils, and then he offered me a CBD oil (despite the fact that most other centers will expressly tell you to categorically not take any substances before you float, and that testing a new product just before floating clearly isn't the wisest choice.) They took me into the floatation room and it absolutely reaked of sulfur. They assured me that it was "just" the shower, and that there was problem with the drains in the building. Why not let your clients know in advance if you have a plumbing issue?! Most people I know don't want to spend $60 to lay in a room that stinks of sulfur! I asked to be moved to the other floatation room. When I got into the room I asked for vaseline, as I had some cuts to protect, and my experience in the past is that this has always been provided. They had none available. Looking around the room I suddenly realized that there was also no hairdryer, no mirror, and when I looked in the shower there was just this disgusting bottle of unlabelled brown liquid - no indication if it was body wash, shampoo, or hair conditioner. When I've been floating in the past all such amenities have been provided. The floor was this very unsanitary looking mat which hurt when walking barefoot, and everything in the room looked completely run down - from the rust in the shower frame, to the wooden chair they had in the corner that looked like it had been rescued from a garbage dump. Determined to make the most of it I got into the tank. Immediately I knew something was wrong - my neck wasn't floating properly - it was elevated at an awkward angle. I have NEVER had this happen in a floatation tank before. My guess is that there was insufficient salt in the tank. I tried to use the neck cushion that they provided, but it totally ruined the sense of gravity loss, which is the entire reason why I pay to float. Furthermore, the tank smelt incredibly musty. I tried to lay there and not think about it, but after a few minutes I couldn't take it any more. It felt unsanitary and, having studied tank hygiene quite thoroughly in the past (I've been considering buying my own tank) I know how seriously bad things can go when the water is unclean. Things that are clean don't smell - bad smells come from bacteria. Given how incredibly musty the smell in that tank was, I highly suspect that there was an inadequate level of sanitation. I got out of the tank after about ten minutes, determined to leave. I went to the shower, and the moment that I turned it on that vile sulfur smell arose from that shower too. It was disgusting!!! I quickly rinsed off a bit of the salt, but obviously under those conditions couldn't get anywhere near as clean as I would have liked. I left the room, determined to confront the owner. However, to my shock, I found that the center had been abandoned. The owner had literally left me floating there completely unmonitored!!! I stood there for a couple of minutes, calling out for the owner and poking my head into rooms trying to find him. When it was clear that he wasn't in the building, I left, completely disgusted that someone would be so careless. (I mean...what if someone has a bad floating experience and there's no one there to help them?! What if they have an accident?!) I left the center covered in salt, which on a hot summer day was deeply unpleasant. It took me an hour to get home, during which time my skin was burning. read more

I just completed my first 90 minute float. I really loved the experience! Since this is a business review, I'll stick to the basics. Pros: -Very friendly staff. -Lobby is beautifully decorated -You can tell that a lot of effort was put into providing a calm energy in this place and it really works. -Two tank sizes available -Personal shower area included in personal tank rooms -Essential oils available for sale (all made in house) Cons: -Although I didn't mind, there is a lot of piping that is covered up with curtains. For those who are easily swayed by aesthetics, this may be a turn off. -The chemical smell of the tanks was a little bit distracting but it comes with having a clean space so I don't mind. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Float Om. I can't wait to get back there and float again! read more

We did a buddy float for our first time. The lobby was decorated very calmly, I'd say it sets the calming mood and puts you at ease. Ankush greeted us and his mannerisms put us at ease immediately for first time floaters. He made sure we knew what to expect and offered us the restrooms and to look around for a few minutes while he got the tanks ready and showers warm. Once ready, he walked us through the process and what to expect. He showed us how to use the shower afterwards and the ear plugs he offered kept all water out of your ears to prevent discomfort. After the float, there is no rush to rejoin society. He was very patient and did not rush payment. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would recommend it to anyone feeling overwhelmed by the world or just needing a good relaxation. We will be returning. It was a relaxing float experience I did a 90 minute float. The price is not bad $60. Water temp was 95 degrees. Kind of an uneasy feeling by the people working there. No one was there when I showed up to my Appt. Had to call the number listed while standing in the lobby to get someone who showed up 5 minutes later. read more
