This was my first Float experience and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I have a head full of curly hair so I have to admit that my first concern was my hair. I found a great swim cap and came out with dry hair! Float OKC is very clean and so welcoming! The rooms are private also. I thought I may be claustrophobic but decided to close my pod to find out. I am happy to report that the inside of the pod is so spacious that claustrophobia was NOT a concern at all. I was able to fully relax and actually fell asleep. There is a Bluetooth speaker in the room if you would like to play your own soothing music but I didn't need to do that to relax. Afterwards I visited the tea room and enjoyed a relaxing drink. I can't wait until my next float!!

It was a relaxing, beneficial experience and the private rooms are nice. I feel like I made some bad decisions, so let me tell you what not to do. Do not have your music up loud. I chose relaxing music, but it was too loud and distracting. I ended up turning it off. If you decide to put on music keep it very quiet. I closed the lid and turned off the tank light which was nice. However, it quickly got super stuffy and hard to breathe. I ended up opening it back up which made me a little cold, but at least I could breathe easily. I suggest shutting off the lights in the room and leave the tank light on while youre floating. The hostess suggested using the earplugs. I didn't think I needed them at all since I planned on listening to music. Do not pass on them. The water and salt were getting in my ears, so I kept leaning my head out of the water which put strain on my neck. Eventually, I got out and put in the earplugs. That made a huge difference. I was finally able to fully relax and rest my head fully in the water without getting water in my ears. The tiny foam pillow didn't work well. I ended up putting my hands behind my head. They should provide 2 of those pillows or purchase some better ones. I checked out the Tea Room on my way out and got some water. It was very cozy and had some good tea selections. Overall, it was a neat, new, relaxing experience since I've never been to a spa or anything like this. Honestly, this isn't really for me, but I really appreciate the opportunity and love trying new things. If you love relaxing in a warm bath to unwind, you will absolutely love this float experience.

Wow I loved this experience and cannot wait to go back. Life is so constantly stimulating, I've been having a hard time with it but this was such a therapeutic and perfect break/escape. For my first time they gave me orientation- they basically provide everything you need as well as inform you of the process well. When I got in the tank I was really surprised by how much I floated, its a crazy feeling. I was able to connect a chill music playlist to their floating speaker and turned the light off... it literally felt like I was floating in space, even the pain I've been having in my lower back lately completely went away. I had the tank shut for my whole hour pretty much but I had to crack it a few times because it started to get stuffy. Now that it's over I feel extremely reset and much lighter. I can see how people get addicted to this, it's a very good way to be kind to yourself. Other than that, loved the tea and coco room, facility was very clean and the office staff, very professional. Great place, I think I'll start going once a month.

I had an amazing experience. Floating with zero gravity allows your joints and mussels to relax, relieve pressure and promotes healing benefits. Salt baths can detox your skin by removing toxins and dead skin cells from your pores. Float OKC has everything you need for before & after floating. From makeup wipes to a hair straightener! Plus complementary tea at the end! The ambience is overall very moody, calm, and relaxing. The front desk lady will walk you through answer any and all questions!

I am a semi regular floater at Float OKC. I personally love love love floating and having introduced several of my family and friends to float. Now, I've only ever been to Float OKC, so I can't compare to other facilities. Float OKC is a wonderful, clean facility. They have just about all your needs covered! Can't wait to float again (scheduled in 16 days!!!!)

I work a job that requires me to use my back quite a bit (even though I try not to). The floating experience was awesome. All my back pain is gone and I've never felt so relaxed. Definitely would recommend to anyone having a stressful week.

I loved everything about this experience. I am a bit claustrophobic so I was unsure how I would like being in a little pod of water. The front desk employee was polite and helpful and the lobby is uncluttered and clean. It's a bit of a spa type vibe - quiet and chill. The room includes the pod, shower with shampoo/conditioner/body wash, towels, shower shoes etc. Ladies, just show up clean with no makeup or jewelry. I worked out and showered at home, threw on a hat and it was quick and easy to get ready for my float. (They do have makeup wipes if that is not an option though.) You are supplied with foam ear plugs and there is an optional halo to rest your head in once inside the pod. The employee suggested keeping my hand towel folded and wedged between the lid and base which allowed just a bit of light in. The first 10-15minutes were the most restless but after that...wow. I'm 5'9" and could stretch my arms out from side to side with palms on the sides and could partially straighten my arms over my head with soles of my feet on the end. I was SHOCKED when the soft light came on indicating the session was over. After you finish, you can rinse off and visit the bathroom (with complimentary amenities) and then fix yourself a cup of tea in the "tea room". I loved my experience and will definitely be back!

I've seen sensory deprivation tanks before: online people have written about them, on Youtube there's plenty of video about them, and I've always thought it would be an incredible experience, but one that would probably be hard to come by both because I had never seen a place with a tank and because I assumed if I found one, it would be prohibitively expensive. I was wrong. Going in, I didn't really know what to expect. I had followed their instructions not to shave before because my skin might get irritated by the 900 POUNDS OF SALT IN THE TANK dissolved in 200 gallons of water. I didn't wear make-up or lotions, and took a shower before getting into the tank. I had asked my friends on Facebook beforehand if I should go in with light or no light, music or no music, tank open or closed. I decided ( and they suggested) I go all in, so I did. An hour in the dark with no sound and no stimulation of any kind. Here's what happened: I showered and got into the tank. I shut the lid and sat back in the water. Like they warned me, when I first leaned back and started to float, I kind of bumped around in the tank because I had disturbed the water. At this point, I still had music and a light on. (They have an aux cord and provide ear plugs, make-up removal towels, regular towels, shampoo and conditioner and the shower is right in the room with the tank). When the filters/jets went off, I turned the light and the music off. I wore the provided ear plugs at their suggestion so 900 POUNDS OF SALT would not crust up my ears. Good choice. At first, I kind of played around a little. I used breathing techniques I know from scuba diving to move my body up and down in the water. I tried different body positions. After about 10 minutes, though, I found a comfortable position, closed my eyes, and just let my mind wander. To answer the questions I would probably ask if someone was telling me about this experience: Yes, I thought it was super clean, ways cleaner than any other tanning bed/public pool/hot tub I will ever experience and no, it wasn't scary at all. I get claustrophobic, and besides one brief moment where I was having a little trouble breathing through my nose (I was a little stuffy) I had absolutely no problems in the hour I was in the tank. It was tough to relax at first because my mind was on what I would write about the experience for my story, what I needed to do at work, etc. But I worked consciously to clear my mind of these thoughts. To focus on my breathing, and to see myself in a calming place. The owner of FloatOKC, Neal, told me many people have told him about the strange places their minds go when they've been in the pod. They're not really hallucinations, so to speak, and they're not drug induced, but when your mind is completely free from all the distractions it normally faces, it can go incredible places. The hour didn't seem that long. At the end of the session the light turned back on, I let myself out of the pod and took a shower, and cleaned up. The bathroom had all the supplies a lady might need to make herself presentable to go back out into the real world (hair dryer, straighter and curling iron, brushes, hair product, etc.), and there's even a little lounge with teas for you to enjoy after the float. If you're in OKC, I would definitely recommend FloatOKC. They talked me through everything before and after, were genuinely concerned that I had a great experience and were genuinely very nice guys. The absolute relaxation, calm and mental cleansing are totally worth it.

I was somewhat prepared for my float through online research but until you experience it yourself you're not really prepared. It was an amazingly relaxing experience and I would recommend it, and I will be going back. The place is very clean, and the employees were super friendly and walked me through everything since it was my first time. A few things - this is picky but I was not a fan of the scent of the shampoo and conditioner they provided, so I will wash my hair myself before next time, or not wear any hair products. Also, they provide ointment to cover any cuts or scratches (to prevent the salt from stinging) USE IT, I didn't and I found out quick I had a few cuts, ha. Overall, super relaxing experience and at only $39 for your first float, it is totally worth it to just at least try it once.

I had an amazing experience here. First float experience I've had, and it really impressed me. the staff, facilities, and the tank itself were all top notch. I highly recommend Float OKC and have already been telling people about it. I had heard of sensory deprivation tanks through joe rogan and his podcast and had looked into them before. my wife knowing how badly I wanted to try it out, bought me a first time float as a birthday gift. it was one of the best gifts I've ever received. I figured the adjustment to the sensory deprivation would be a bit more of a process, but I was wrong. I ended up turning my music off fairly early on into my session. I decided I did not want any light. which was great! I used some basic meditation breathing techniques and eventually felt so amazingly relaxed that I started wandering through my meditative state, making note of how far removed I was from the world around me. after my session, I took a few minutes in the tea lounge area and had some complimentary water and observed the neat white board with many inspiring and interesting messages written on it. it's good to see such positivity and awareness. a lot of mindful words, speaking of oneness and many other peaceful sentiments. when I left, I felt better physically, than I have in years. which may have been the epsom salts and relaxation, but also I know my mind and spirit felt renewed. which most definitely impacted my body as well. thank you for providing such a great service, and making this resource available here in OKC.

What a cool idea! I am always looking for new ways to relax and I love trying new things! I jumped in a little too aggressively and went the total sensory deprecation route. It's not for those with relaxation difficulties! The next time I try it I would listen to some music. The staff member was very knowledgable, helpful and polite! He made me very comfortable and gave great instruction. The place was very clean, however, while climbing into the pod, there was quite a bit of someone else's hair stuck to both sides just above the water line. I do not like hair once it is disconnected from the body, so this grossed me out a little. Each pod has 900 pounds of salt in it so I talked myself into believing the water was clean and ok to get into. Like I said, the rest of the acity let very hygienic and clean. I only lasted about 40 minutes because I got bored, but I think I could get better with practice. I have a hard time being one with my thoughts in the silent dark. They have a great little relaxation room to use after your treatment where you can make some tea and write a fun message for others! Overall, it's worth a try!

This is the ultimate relaxation experience! I went for my first time today for my birthday and will certainly return! Tanya was so kind in explaining everything and made me feel so welcome. The showers and bathrooms are fully stocked and 100% clean. Topped off my float with a cup of tea in their lovely tearoom. If you haven't experienced this, you must!!
