I floated for the first time yesterday, it was great! Float AK has great prices as well as a good location. The staff member who set me up was very kind and relatable, though I can't remember her name. As far as the float goes, it was very relaxing, though I did find a few more bug bites that I can picked at once I got into the tank. (They burned). The water temperature as perfect and the size of the tank was excellent as well. I just wish I had remembered to bring a leave in conditioner and a brush for my second shower to wash all of the salt off. Will be back! I went for a float for the first time a couple week ago. I was initially scheduled in October but I live in Fairbanks and am only in the Anchorage area every few months and only for the day. It just so happened the day I was there in October was the first snow of the season and it turned out to be a mess. I wouldn't have been able to make the drive. I called and the woman who answered was very understanding and let me know I could just reschedule when I would be back in town (no same day cancellation or reschedule fee). Fast forward to Apr and I called Monday when I was going to be there Friday just hoping this would not be a hassle to get on the schedule. I was able to get scheduled and she even let me know prices and appt lengths had changed since I originally scheduled and if I couldn't make it work they could adjust it so that I could stick to the original agreement. Boy am I glad they worked with me. I didn't realize how long the drive would be. Sure the GPS estimated time was there but this was a ways outside of the usual Anchorage that I stick to. I think one of the selling points for Float Alaska is that it is in a historic barn but it was honestly kind of creepy to me. The only person I actually interacted with in person was a young man who said he was still very new and was very nervous but I think he did a fantastic job with the customer service aspects and preparing me for what to expect. The actual float experience was not so good for me however somewhat because I was just flat out scared at first (no fault of Float AK's, it didn't hit me until I was in the room for whatever reason, that it would be very dark even outside the tank and I just kept having dateline serial killer scenes run through my head, lol) but as I did begin to get more comfortable and try to relax like the last 20 mins or so of my 90 min float I could hear a lot of conversation and commotion on the floors above (though there are signs all over that someone may be in the middle of a treatment and to please be quiet) It sounded like there were children having run of the place. Overall I don't think it is something I would do again since I couldn't fully get out of my head and relax but I see the potential and especially dealing with the excellent staff I would recommend to others to at least try if interested. read more
