Granted we didn't stay. Just looked around. The place was clean, and the prices affordable. The problem is the water park for kids is only open one day a week on Saturday. Came up from Gulfport on a Sunday for the water park, but it was closed, so we ended up spending the afternoon at the beach area. It was relaxing and the amenities were surprisingly good. The swimming area was nice and it's fun to watch the boats go by. I can't speak for the campsites/cabins as we only hung out for the day. It cost us $10 to get in for the day. The website should be updated if the water park is only going to be open on Saturdays. I would probably get a season pass if I lived in the area! I really like this park. I've read other people's reviews and a lot of people made bad reviews because they obviously have not been back recently. So I'll say that the cabin we stayed was nice and clean and not noisy at night and the park rangers do ride around at night as well to make sure everyone is quiet after 10:00pm. The cabin was clean and sure maybe a tree roach flew in once but what do you expect? I mean people open the doors I'm sure so those big flying roaches aren't the little ones that appear when something is dirty! So if people leave dishes in the sink they will see those little roaches. read more

The bathrooms are the main reason I would never ever come back here again. No toilet paper, trash everywhere, wads of hair, USED tampons and pads on the floor. I guess they assume people shower in their camper to even care to clean ANY of their Bath houses. We went to every single bath house in this campground and each one was just as bad as the last one. We used to come here when we were kids, I'm glad I left our three children at home- they would've never used the showers here. First, BEAUTIFUL LAKE AND WELL MAINTAINED LAWN. The forests are beautiful. Some camping areas not so much. I'f you are truly completely disabled they do not offer much of a disability discount. I think 2 dollars. Disabled Veterans 2 dollar discount. About 35 a night. This is a state run park showing its age and lack of funding. If low tire pressure vehicles (golf carts, gators, rangers, etc) bother you as kids and families seemingly joy ride the park roads, you won't like that either. Many unsafe hanging off the carts. If a park that is loud party free interests you, this one may not be it. If quiet mature fellow campers interest you, this may not be it. If easy flat camp parking spots interest you, they can be hard to come by. Ask and investigate. If full tower LTE is required, it is spotty and you too must investigate. Our best with att was 3 bars with booster. If camp side garbage service like they use to have is important, that's gone too. There is a smelly messy area off the camp road with a gate and garbage haphazardly tossed by lazy bums. While we did not use the water park, we are told it's just recirculating dark lake water. Again, the lake is BEAUTIFUL. Lots of campers have multiple family vehicles and boats / 4 wheelers. That's what you see on weekends. Tuesday through a Thursday morning is the quietest. read more

Long post alert!! My family and I have been camping here for decades. I used to love coming to Flint Creek. It always had a rustic charm about it... but it has completely gone down the drain, and I couldn't be more upset. I will officially be removing FC from our list of places to camp and will no longer recommend it to anyone. Two years ago, my family camped here, and we were disgusted. The park has become this exclusive place for the apparently elite park goers. Their first-come first-serve section is utterly ridiculous. Two years ago we were told that it would be changed and that people would no longer be allowed to permanently leave campers there, jogging all of the spaces. This weekend we were told that the park went back to allowing it. (Guessing those folks complained and got their way) Still looks like a trashy trailer park. Campsite- The site was so badly overgrown with grass that we had to get a weed eater to cut it ourselves so that we could sit at the table and eat. Trash everywhere. The pads are so washed out that it was almost impossible to get our camper leveled. (The paved sites are no better...) Golf carts- these have gotten ridiculous. People ride them 24/7 throughout the park, blocking the roads when they want to 'visit,' blasting music, KIDS driving them irresponsibly. One passed by us filled with teenagers openly smoking marijuana. I had to explain that to my young children. Bathhouses- The first night we arrived, there was no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms in the Kahaka section. When I stopped at the office to ask about it, the not-so-friendly worker told us that people steal the tp, so they usually don't put any in there. I was told that someone would come check it out. After FIVE days, nothing. No toilet paper, and the showers were disgusting. Overflowing trash, broken shower heads and nozzles... disgusting. My mom and I tried SIX different bathhouses before we found one decent enough to shower in. We had heard that lots of new things and improvements were coming to the park since we last camped there 2 years ago. I can tell you for a fact that not a single of those new things has been added, and the state of the park and facilities has WORSENED. I would really like to know where all the money goes?? If these permanent campers are allowed because they bring in a steady flow of money, where does it go because it obviously doesn't go towards maintaining the park. Oh wait.. it went towards building a bridge for golf carts to get to the local convenience store.. priorities. Thanks for the memories FC, but you can keep your 'improvements.' Like I said earlier, we will no longer be returning, and I can recommend places that are much nicer, cleaner, more family friendly, etc. Try Lake Lincoln in Wesson, MS. Very small, but clean, friendly staff, and family friendly!! Or McLeod on the coast. Much better places than this glorified trailer park . read more

The park is lovely. However the cabins need maintenance. The beds were in deplorable condition, lumpy and hard. Mildew in the shower. Stinky filthy sofas and carpet. Trash on the grounds between the cabins. No one in our group slept well. I reported it to the staff when we checked out. Telling the lady how bad the beds were and her comment was "yes that's what they say". read more

This park has quite a few things for campers to enjoy. You can go fishing, swim, or rent a canoe! I stayed in the camper section and camped here in an RV. My biggest complaint would have the be the amount of mosquitoes and the ants. I know that camping involves a fair share of bugs but we were being eaten alive. I counted my bites and I had over 23 bites on my arms and legs only after the first night of being there (and I wore insect repellent). Also the flies were everywhere, you didn't even need food to attract them. I saw that the campers who had been at the campsite before us had set up some sticky fly traps (very wise of them). I would definitely bring fly traps if you plan on coming here and camping in the summer. I have been camping many times before in many different states but this was one of the worst experiences I've had with mosquitoes/ants/flies. However, the lake is pretty nice for swimming in and they even have designated swimming areas. They also have a good amount of boat launches and designated fishing areas. There were a lot of kids riding their bikes and families at the campsite which was nice to see. One cool thing was they there's a snow cone truck going around! Considering how sweltering hot it can get the snow cone truck is a life saver! They had many flavors to choose from and also sold ice cream. Overall, this is a good place to go camping just be prepared to deal with bugs! read more

Have been coming to Flint Creek for 20+ years but this year was a huge disappointment. Our cabin had roaches and not just a few but a full blown infestation. We will be getting a refund but this is an obvious problem that has been going on for sometime as we saw roaches of all shapes and sizes. Also the roach excrement on the walls was disgusting. We had to sleep in a friends cabin as we even found live roaches in the bed. Hopefully they can get this problem fixed but ALL of the cabins need a major renovation and pest control. read more

The water park is amazing. The only complaint I had was when I had to leave this wonderful place. It's such a great place for vacation.

I like the idea of having the reservoir water. And the owner cares about the property and is personally involved in the business. The staff is helpful and courteous. They also allow birthday parties. I was there one day when it was raining but that didn't dampen the spirits of the staff and were helpful the the family that was having a party for their daughter. We love to go boating there. Lots of places to fish and let the kids swim. We have a yearly pass and enjoy it lots!

I have run here at Flint Creek many, many times and enjoy the shade and hills very much. I came to the water park for the first time a few years ago for a good friend's kid's birthday party which was so much fun... The next year I knew I wanted to have our little girl's birthday party here, so we did that and it was a complete success. Rusty and Stew were a tag team and just helped the event to go smoothly, and also helped me to relax! The kids had the best time ever. They were absolutely pooped by the time we had to leave, but could not stop talking about it... We have come back just to play at the water park many times since. We love the park and we love the people here. They just take great care of you, make sure you're having a great time. You and your kids are also in good hands safety wise since the lifeguard certifications are a big deal to them over here, so that's another plus. I love not having to drive down to the coast to have a great day or weekend with the family outside. This is right in our backyard- living in Perkinston. read more

Hmmmm... Well where to begin. We couldn't check in until 330 because the cabin was not clean yet. When we finally get there trash was outside the door. When we walked in there was a sheet saying who cleaned the cabin which was 3 people for a super small 2 bedroom cabin. They may need a new cleaning crew. The cabin we stayed in was plain which Was fine. However, there was one pot, one skillet, no pans for the oven.. The doors has no dead bolts and opened several times by itself (supposedly locked), there was no shower curtain... So when taking a shower there's water everywhere. If you go, make certain you bring towels and wash cloths because there are none provided for you.. Oh and as far as the mattress I hope you enjoy sleeping on concrete... The lake is wonderful and the water park is nice... The cabin however was a disappointment for the price. read more
