Veggies were perfectly in season and delish!

The sun was shining, the outdoor seating is incredible, and everyone was huddled inside. I don't get it! All that incredible outdoor seating: some on the second story with amazing views out over the harbor. Some right on the edge of the water - just beautiful. If you go, sit outside!! If it's cold, bring a jacket and just pretend you're camping. Don't miss the gorgeous fresh air experience!!! I can't say my dish was amazing, but it was very good. The veggies were especially good, and perfectly in season. I can't wait to go back and try something else!

When we decided on travelling to New Zealand, I convinced my husband that we needed to go to Moeraki to eat at Fleurs. I had the whole cod & my husband had the shellfish hot pot. Both very good. The wine pictured is a Blanc de Noir - order it! So glad we came! (By the way Fleur is an absolute delight! - cheers Fleur!)

This restaurant was recommended by our air bnb host. We stopped for lunch on our way to Dunedin. A ramshackle salty two story place tucked away in a small harbor town. Wow! What a hidden gem! The food, ambience, and service was excellent. We ordered the bread and spread platter for a starter. Three types of fresh soft baked bread slices, which included four home made creative and flavorful spreads (including olive oil and balsamic). We ordered the fish platter for the main, which included veggies. You are able to pick two of the five dipping sauces for the fish. The five different types of fish was fresh caught local NZ fish. All very mild, non fishy tasting. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

Recommended by Alex, our Kiwi Holiday Park host, who even made the reservation for us, this became one of the best eating experiences of our trip to New Zealand. We shared a seafood chowder, then the taster sampler of five different local fish, all excellently prepared and utterly delicious. Crowded and noisy, but no matter when the food is so good.

We went to Fleur's Place a couple of weeks ago with much anticipation. At first we were seated upstairs but it was sweltering with the fire on so asked to move downstairs which was a real bonus - Fleur sat with us and yarned for half the night which wouldn't have happened upstairs! With much consternation over ordering the perfect dish I had the portuguese skate wings and others shared a fish tasting platter. The skate wings were done perfectly however the tasting platter was a little lacking - it certainly showed off the fish but was just a plate of fish... I'd definitely go back in a shot but would order the fish of the day or whole blue cod because that's what she does best. Sticky date pudding was average. Creme brûlée was up to the task. Still a great restaurant by a long shot!

Very fresh fish with good flavor. A little bit expensive but worth. Blue cod and green mussel was very delicious!

Seafood perfection. I had the trio of fillets, ocean perch, monkfish and another unfamiliar to me. All beautiful with a lovely dill sauce. My wife had the mussels, a bit much for her. Waiting for dessert now. Views from second floor are extraordinary.

It's off the beaten path in the town of Moeraki, and the last time I was here, I was en route to Dunedin.

Recommended as the place to stop-in for fresh seafood while visiting Dunedin, my brother and I were…read moreable to get fish'n'chips for carryout. It was good. We came in during the later afternoon. One of the guides at the cruise terminal had recommended that Bluff oysters were in season, and the best place to get it was a restaurant near the town center: Best Cafe. So we took the shuttle into town from the cruise port (about a 25 minute ride), and immediately searched out the cafe. The inside is airy with a good arrangement of tables. A sign clearly indicated that they were out of oysters (and mussels) for the day, which I have to admit was really disappointing. But the fish fry was recommended as well, so decided to try that. There were open tables, but the constraint was how much fish they could deep fry at one time, so were told a 25 minute wait. They do have a separate door for carryout, so decided to do that instead. We placed and paid for our order, was quoted a time similar to the dine-in wait time (since the fish still had to be cooked). It was ready exactly at the time quoted, and was still piping hot and oily as we ate it walking down the sidewalk while going to the next stop. Blue Cod fillet (NZ$12 for two fillets), elephant fish (NZ$8.50 for one fillet) - Fries cooked in beef tallow (NZ$4.50). All of it was served together, and it was really well fried. The fries were great. The fish was good: the batter was light and really accentuated the large portions of fresh fish used. It was first time eating elephant fish, and it was ok...very firm, not oily at all. The blue cod is really a good fish for fish'n'chips, and is something I would get again for a fish fry. Squid Rings (1/2 dozen for NZ$9) - they were large and definitely fresh. The same batter as the fish was used, and wasn't as successful on the slippery squid, especially for on-the-go. Next time, we will come earlier to try the recommended oysters and different fishes offered and try it dine-in.

Such a friendly owner. We came in right as they were closing without realizing their hours. Not…read moreonly did what I believe was the owner allow us to come, she also came to greet us at the end to make sure our food was good. Unfortunately, they were out of a lot of their menu items so we were limited in what options there were. However, despite that, the food was still tasty. I can't say this is the best fish and chips I've had, but it was still very solid. Both the sole and blue cod were great, though I did prefer the blue cod more. They also had a fried pineapple which reminded me of a sugared donut outside but pineapple inside which was an interesting try (wouldn't say amazing but unique) Inside look like what you'd expect from a family owned shop. There's nothing special inside, but given how friendly they are I would definitely come here for good food and friendly staff.
