This hotel is quaint and historic. It is a great alternative to the White Hart down the street, which I'm sure is lovely, but costs quite a bit more. There are just a few rooms up top, and the decor was really lovely. I can't remember what the name of the room was, but on booking.com it appears as "Classic Double Room with Bath." It went for around £90 with breakfast included, which was tasty and made-to-order.
The pub below was open from 7:30-9:30 that night, so we walked down the street and had a FANTASTIC dinner at The George Hotel, which has a great ambiance in the pub. A beautiful historic Abbey is right across the street from Fleur De Lys, so make sure to go inside and check it out. There is a parking lot behind the inn, but you'd better hope your car is not very wide! Overall this inn was exactly what we were looking for with just a few rooms and its delightful history. read more
