Fletcher's is where you'll find your grand parents at breakfast time. It has a solid breakfast. Prices are cheaper than other places. Food is okay, pretty basic. But if you are looking for a "normal" breakfast at a reasonable price. This is it. Service was friendly. read more

Easy location to get in and out. We were seated right away. We had a lobster roll and cheese burger. The lobster roll was pretty good with lots of lobster. The cheese burger was okay but nothing special. Service was solid and efficient. read more

Exactly what a diner is supposed to be. Amazingly friendly & helpful waitstaff and classic Maritime comfort food. The fish chowder was absolutely perfect and the roast turkey poutine will make you reconsider your Christmas dinner. All in a friendly setting. read more

Food: Nothing groundbreaking here; just your typical diner fare. But it's done RIGHT and it tastes GREAT! THE best Beef and Barley soup I've ever had and is a must eat every time I go there. An added bonus: They are FAST with orders, even on a busy day. Service: Never have had a bad experience with the servers at this establishment. They are probably the most enthusiastic and personable staff I've ever had in Truro. They are GENUINE people. These younger female servers at some other nearby restaurants seriously need to take note; the gals at Fletcher's know what great customer service is. Ambiance: I always find it a little cold in there but that could just be a me problem lol. The restaurant was renovated within the last few years to reveal a simple aesthetic. Had to drop our car off to the VW dealership for service(and we live out of the area), I was lucky enough to get a loaner so figured I may as well go for breakfast? I have to say I drove by the building first because I thought it was a bar? Then decided to look it up only to find out they did offer breakfast. The space is set up in a diner style, and thats how you feel when your there. It was a nice stop in. Breakfast came very quickly. Price point was very reasonable. The staff were very friendly, and eager to keep your coffee topped up! Look forward to re visiting, the next time we're in the area for our regular vehicle maintenance :) read more

Fletcher's is one of Truro's older family dining restaurants. It kind of reminds you of the old-fashioned diners that you see in the movies, like in "It Could Happen to You" with the old-fashioned stools beside the long counter top, and the several old leather-like booths. Everything about the Restaurant says Old and Old-fashioned, but if it ain't broke then why fix it? Despite it's non-modern appearance, the restaurant is extremely cozy and offers really great food - especially their fish & chips and their chocolate milkshakes. They are also famous for their desserts, especially their enormous slices of coconut cream pie. Overall, a very relaxed place to eat, with great food and reasonable prices. read more

I stopped in here with a friend. The description on this site is for "Seafood" - I think a better description would be "Family Diner" as the menu is full of diner favourites. Traffic was steady, service was friendly, and the food prep was about average. The burgers were recommended and therefore what I ordered, though it wasn't what I was planning to order. I was glad to get the recommendation! The burgers were homemade beef burgers, cooked perfectly, and juicy. The fries were crispy and great. I ate everything on my plate. Classic diner with the usual fare. Food is good, homemade pies are amazing and staff is friendly. Lots of regulars, especially the older crowd. Building is in an awkward spot and could use more parking, this place can be busy. read more

Very causal (and popular!) family restaurant. The service was excellent, however the food really was nothing special. I had a traditional breakfast - no eggs benny on the menu! and the weakest cup of tea I may have ever had. The prices are very reasonable though and they do have a few options that come with tea or coffee - my dad liked that as he is a senior on a tight budget. Being from Edmonton I doubt I will find myself in Truro much when I come home so not sure I will visit again. read more
