Reposting from Google because I don't think my other review is warning enough people about the piercer's incompetence here: Went in for a double helix piercing on the recommendation of a coworker who'd had nipples done and loved her experience. Wish I could say the same for mine. I didn't realize until I went home and was shopping for replacement jewelry how much was wrong with my new piercings. First issue: he pierced my helix at 20G (no discussion prior, and they "don't stock jewelry" so I had no choice in the matter) and EVERYTHING you will find online says it should be 16 - 18 at minimum - to prevent tearing/cheese cutter/rejection in such a sensitive area. Secondly, he applied butterfly backs to close them!! They're a huge infection risk and don't allow enough room for post-piercing swelling. By day 3 I was in agony, the backing was fully pushing against my skin and it was ANGRY. I went to another piercer to have the jewelry swapped out for what it should have been in the first place - 18G titanium threadless. Thirdly, he recommends soap and water with q-tips to clean, when the standard recommendation is sterile saline. Antibacterial soap is too harsh on freshly pierced skin and apparently leads to more irritation. The other piercer told me Tom used to have a great reputation in the area, but that lately they've been getting more and more people coming to get his mistakes fixed at their shop. I would firmly NOT recommend getting pierced here. Now that the swelling has gone down, it's easy to see how HORRIBLY PLACED these piercings are - they're pointing fully under the curve of the ear! I don't even know if I'll be able to put hoops in these without them hitting the ridge instead. If only there were a license for piercers - Tom should lose his if there was! Added on months later: Since the healing process is several months along now and there isn't any more swelling on my ear, it's very easy to see just how badly pierced this helix was. One piercing completely rejected. The one I'm left with faces at a downward angle, and is completely hidden by the curve of the cartilage when viewed from a normal profile angle. It's unusable, and has to be taken out. I was never contacted by the shop OR the piercer following this review to offer to repierce or refund or ANYTHING: they clearly just don't give a shit about the quality of work they put out there in the world. What a waste of my time and pain and attention in keeping it cared for. read more

I've been going to Tom for piercings for myself and my daughter for the last 6-7 years. He always takes his time lining it up perfectly. He will tell you if you don't have the proper anatomy for a piercing which is a GOOD thing. A couple of weeks after I had my tragus pierced, it got snagged in my hair and pulled out. My daughter and I desperately tried to get it back in, but only made it so much worse and more swollen. I called Tom and he told me to come in. He got it back in and gave me some instructions to help the damaged me and my daughter did. He told me to call him in a week or two with an update. Between my daughter and I we have about 15 piercings that were done by Tom. They all healed beautifully. I send everyone I know to Tom and they have the same experiences we have. HIGHLY RECOMMEND read more

So far tom has done my septum, nostril, and industrial piercings and I haven't had a single bad experience. Everything has healed perfectly with the aftercare instructions given to me. Everything is clean and organized and he takes his time to make sure your piercing is exactly what you want and where you want it. I'm a bit shy so it can be a rough time socially to get piercings done, but he's always been very nice. I have a lot more piercings I want in the future and I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

My friend and I went to flesh mechanics on Friday 3/3/23 for a 5:30 appt with Tom for us to get piercings. My friend was getting her nips and a forward helix and I was also getting a forward helix. My friend was super nervous but Tom was very polite and professional with calming her and was very precise in making sure the placement of her piercings was perfect. He completely cleaned after she was done and got set up for mine and it was quick and mostly painless. Lol. Tom was great and informative, also a bit sassy and sarcastic which I just loved. I will definitely make another appt to see Tom. Also, I am having zero issues with the healing process for my piercing. The other thing I found interesting about him is that he said he will change any piercings, whether he did them or not, for free, as long as you bring the jewelry to swap with you. Which I think is awesome because any other place I know would charge for it. read more

Get inked! This is a great place for a tattoo. The shop is clean and the staff are courteous. My husband and I both have work that was done there and we always get compliments no the work. I am not sure what type of in that they use but our tattoos still look sharp in color! Kevin, the shop owner, is very creative. If you have and idea he can help expand upon that and give you a great tattoo! I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get inked! read more

I'm giving them 2 stars because the piercings i've gotten there haven't gotten infected or anything, so that's good. But other than that, the guy who does piercings here is insanely rude. My mom went in to get something done and he refused to do it. He said her piercings were too close together without even looking at them and said he had "in the 15 years of him piercing never heard of" what she was talking about. (It was a double stack, by the way, and if she had heard of it, I would assume someone who had been piercing for 15 years should know it, too.) He never even took the time to try and understand what she was talking about and just outright refused to pierce her ear. So, I guess what I'm saying is he does good piercings, but get ready for some pretty rude, condescending service. read more

I am very disappointed in the experience we had here! They deserve -5 stars. My daughter wanted her tounge pierced so she saved her baby sitting money to get it done. After the initial piercing was in for 3 mo we switched it an she had trouble with it getting stuck in her tounge or falling out while eating..stopped by to talk to Tom on 2 occasions an he wasn't there. When we did get ahold of him he pretty much told us her situation was "unbelievable "...she had to go to the er to remove 1 that was stuck sideways in her tounge an the others got swallowed while eating. Tom was very unprofessional an when I told him the "blowhole" was on top instead of on the bottom where it should be he got offended an said " I don't even no what that means"?. He offered no solution except to pay to have it done! Why would I let u do it again after you messed up an pretty much said tough luck to her??! Never again an I will let everyone no there scammers! read more

The most talented tattoo artists in the area! This place has a great atmosphere, the guys have great senses of humor, and charge a fair price for their work. If you're looking for a cheap tattoo, look elsewhere, but keep in mind: you get what you pay for. When inking something permanently into your skin, it's worth paying a little more for better quality artistry. I've traveled over 2000+ miles to get tattooed at Flesh Mechanics, and it's worth it every time. read more

Shop is very clean, staff all appeared well dressed and in respectable fashion. I think they are the best in Beaver County at what they do; however the attitude and demeanor of some of the staff is atrocious. Walking through the door instead of being greeted we were just starred at. No real interest in the customer. Some staff made us feel like we were a burden or bothering them. read more

if I could I would give them no * So incredibly rude on the phone, also when I looked them up they're under yellow pages it says walk in welcome for piercings I called to ask questions and the guy literally tries to argue with me that he doesn't know how that is on the website of yellowpages.com, Well it's your business then he hang up the phone on me. so unprofessional And so incredibly happy I didn't give them my money. this is why you go to city.... 10/10 would let Tom stab me again. He was really chill and the atmosphere was really relaxing.

These guys are awesome. i was having tons of trouble with getting some kind of stud in my tragus. they had various earring styles for my tragus, changed my earring, and took it out when it got kind of irritated (my fault not theirs'). i went there three times within the same month and each time they were patient and kind. great people and great customer service. definitely call or go to flesh mechanics if you have any questions on earrings or problems with your piercings. read more
