On 9/18/2020 VITAS Hospice called me & confirmed that Mom was not allowed out of bed and was no longer provided meals because "she took too long to eat". I immediately initiated a change in Hospice facilities and had her evaluated and moved to a Hospice House. My 4'11" Mom weighed 60 lbs, had extensive gangrene on both feet, bed sores on her backside and her teeth were rotted to the point of falling out. Mom died on 9/21/20. Beach House never notified me that Mom was near death, however Executive Director, Liz verbally gave me 45 days to move Mom to a nursing home, as Mom could no longer "stand & pivot". I could provide further details of incompetence but choose to end my review here.

His speech has been affected, so he is difficult to communicate with. He needs the assisted. Like most families, we worried about the care he received, particularly in such a vulnerable condition. The Beach House is fabulous. They are clean, competent and compassionate. All the caregivers know my father by name. They all seem to have personal stories about him that they share when we visit. It is clear that they know him and love him. He is always clean and happy when we come to visit, which is with pretty high frequency. He is comfortable and safe in his room. He has easy access to more social areas. All of the folks living their appear to be well cared for. The Beach House overcomes all of the stereotypes many of us of my (boomer) generation fear. I have gotten more confident that those stereotypes are not longer accurate. But anyone considering assisted living for a loved one should visit the Beach House. It is a very comfortable situation - with privacy as well as social living conveniently available to any patient. Most of all, I want to say that the warmth of conscientiousness of the staff is their greatest asset. The keypad to get in stopped working well later at night but those are the only two reasons this doesn't get a full 5 stars. The view of the tree line of Hanna Park was serene and we got to see a baby alligator a few mornings out on the bank. I did love the resources provided such as pots and pans with which we made lobster and steak, the water quality was excellent and basically no other complaints except the renter above us who we had to call the noise complaint number multiple times for. I'm sure other apartment units are quieter and people enjoy living there, but we just wish it stayed as quiet as the day we arrived. These apartments make me feel like I'm living at a resort. This is truly, high end, resort style living. The security of the entire complex, the amenities, the community, etc I just can't say enough about how thankful I am we chose The Reef when we moved to Florida. The staff always have things planned to bring neighbors and the community together, the club house has kid friendly games in a clean and aesthetically pleasing indoor/outdoor area, the pool area is immaculate! They are also very pet friendly, and love to celebrate a pet of the month each month which is so cute. Full gym, (even a smiths machine and a stair stepper!) a yoga room where the community also does some yoga classes, and outdoor workout area with turf and to top it all of they even have a rotating rock wall for people working on those skills. AND it's right next to Hanna Park which has awesome trails and a nice, clean beach with lifeguards! It's just Dow the road within walking distance from the apartment complex! If you're looking for a place to call home, and either want a peaceful sanctuary, a close and family-like community, or a safe and secure complex with amazing amenities - THIS is your place. I must say, when I first called and spoke with Shari at Granny Nannies I had no idea what I was…read moredoing or what I needed. After answering all of my questions and concerns I went in to visit their office. Shari and Sandy both are super nice ladies! My stepfather has been in and out of the hospital and rehab facilities since last April 2015, he was being discharged for home and my mother, whom just suffered from a heart attack was the only there to care for him. He is wheelchair bound, with stage 4 ulcers on his back and feet and suffering from moderate Dementia. There was no way she could do it anymore. Getting him home took some time, the hospital would call and say he was being discharged so I would set up times for the caregivers, then the hospital would cancel the discharge. This happened on several occasions, I finally broke down with Shari on the phone because I was once again cancelling their services. Finally, he made it home, his first caregiver was Robin, mom fell in love with her. She and all the rest of the people have been so understanding and loving towards my parents, we couldn't ask for better people to look after them. Currently, their services are being used 24/7 with two shifts a day. The best thing is my mom feels comfortable around them, several have even offered or cooked their meals for them. As this is a difficult situation that will ultimately end with Hospice Care I cannot say enough wonderful things about how Granny Nannies has treated our family. I will definitely remember them if the need ever arises again and would recommend their services to anyone. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We have been extremely pleased both with their office staff and the in-home caregivers. Sandy and her office staff have been remarkably helpful, responsive, and patient in dealing with occasional last-minute schedule changes, and have also been a huge help in advocating for our needs with the long-term care insurance company when the insurance company tried to waffle about the level of care and the percentage of the costs they would pay. In the home, both Felicia and Chastity have been hardworking, trustworthy, and eternally patient in dealing with the demands of caring for very elderly, and often demanding patients. We recommend Granny Nannies without any reservations whatsoever.
