First and foremost, I just ran 4 miles in brand new shoes with brand new socks, that I've never worn either Brand of in the past--and as someone who has been an unofficial spokesman for Brooks runners, I'm a changed man. What a great experience! I live downtown and was in the market for shoes. I was tempted to go to another place because I've never been to Fleet Feet, but I went on a whim to have a fitting and see what would happen. I don't write reviews in much of anything, but I was super impressed. WOW. From the first 10 seconds of arriving in the store Diane and Tayla greeted me so warmly I thought I knew them both from something before this lol. Then I got my foot scan from Tayla and she helped me the rest of my time. I am not a pro runner and was planning to just get the same shoe (updated), but I am happy I didn't. Tayla was SO patient when answering my myriad of questions about when to replace a shoe, the benefits of insoles, difference between shoe makers, and she even talked with me about finding a new color to the shoe I was looking at even though I didn't even end up with those in the end. I was almost embarrassed by how many questions I had, but I was totally put at ease, well-informed, and left super confident in my purchase of a shoe I would otherwise have never looked at. I also went up half a size and it made all the difference so thank you for the suggestion! Thank you Tayla and Diane for being SUCH kind people. They were convenient to my downtown hotel and not far from the expo location for the Route 66 marathon. The personnel were welcoming and personable, plus I found a shirt I liked! Staff was very polite, but it became obvious that this location has a limited shoe selection, and lacks the equipment to cut customized insoles. I was trying to support a downtown Tulsa business, but that's hard to do when this location isn't equipped to actually serve customers. :-( The sales clerk did contact the Kingspointe location, which was where I ended up spending a few hundred dollars. read more

I love running and have been to many, many running stores. I really like Fleet Feet. When you walk in, there is pretty much always someone there to help you. You don't just have to go look at shoes and try them on. Rather, someone will look at your feet/arches, and help you find the optimal shoe for running. (Also, I almost always get fairly cheap shoes. You can pay a lot, but I think they do a good job of finding something that will work for you.) They have quite a few other products that are worth perusing - I'm a big fan of Gu for long runs, and they have a vast selection. I wouldn't recommend buying apparel here, because you can get similar products for much cheaper at Wal-Mart or Target. You can get technical shirts anywhere. Something else that Fleet Feet offers is groups and classes to help you get your running going. I've never really done these, save one time when I visited a speedwork group at TU. If you're having trouble getting into running, I bet one of these would be pretty helpful. There are few drawbacks. One, sign up for their races like you would any other... sooner, rather than later. They wouldn't let me run in a half marathon because they had hit the limit... and no exception was to be made! Second, there is definitely some snobbery that goes along with experienced runners. It's annoying (and obviously not all elite runners are like that) but maybe that will push you even more to run farther and faster! Finally, I would just say that it's a very nice store. I love the Blue Dome district, and this is an attractive building. This is a great place to browse and they'll occasionally host running events here. I love the downtown Tulsa holiday run - you don't have to sign up and it's just for fun. They do a great job of building a running community. Overall, I approve of Fleet Feet. Go buy some shoes and pound some pavement! read more

Fleet Feet is a phenomenal resource for any thing you need related to running. In a world where internet sales are so prevalent, I am very impressed with how relevant Fleet Feet has managed to remain. Their staff is super knowledgeable and they are always so friendly and helpful with any question you might have. The store is always holding free events like good form clinics, diva nights (free food & wine!), and anniversary celebrations (more free food and alcohol!!) That is of course in addition to all the races they host (those are not free, but they do often come w food and beer) In my opinion, fleet feet is a major hub of the Tulsa running community. I find myself wanting to spend more money just to support such a great local business. read more
