If you want a fast acting you need to be prepared to whatever Patrick ask in terms of paperwork's and finances. You can't be clothed in Luxury items and can't afford an attorney. Very disappointing experience and poor communication…read more We scheduled an appointment with the firm, but when the appointment time arrived, nobody called us. We contacted the office to check, only to learn that the appointment was expected to be in-person. This was never communicated to us when the appointment was scheduled. After more than 15 years of working with attorneys, including immigration lawyers for H-1B, green card, and citizenship matters, we have never had an in-person consultation assumed without being clearly informed beforehand. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. When the receptionist transferred us to the lawyer, the following was the exact conversation: Lawyer: Who gave you this appointment? My husband: Someone from your office had scheduled it. I don't recall the name. Lawyer: Schedule another appointment. We don't do appointments on call. Such a waste of my time. She then abruptly hung up. Speaking to a prospective client in this manner was not only rude but also demonstrated a lack of professionalism and communication skills. This could have been resolved professionally and respectfully. An expected professional response would have been something along the lines of: "It looks like there was a misunderstanding when the appointment was scheduled. Our consultations are only in person. Please reschedule, and our staff will be happy to assist you. That would have resolved the issue respectfully. I strongly recommend that the firm train its scheduling staff to clearly communicate appointment details. Lawyers to emphasize professional and respectful communication with prospective clients. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences we have had with an immigration law firm.

When by chance you do get her on the phone she doesn't know who you are. She made a mistake on my tax return, in my favor, which the IRS picked up! I asked her for an explanation and she said I had overpaid, which in fact wasn't true. Almost a year later, and I still don't have my refund. I have asked her monthly to contact the IRS as she's my legal representative and can get through. Every time she gives me another blow off reason why she can't get an answer. And we're talking about a lot of money. I finally went to another accountant and got an answer in a day! One day! And again the long delay was because of something Mimi had done and failed to tell me. When pressed about it, again, she said it was my fault. Mimi and her team couldn't care less about your business. Her work is sloppy and she's dishonest. I can't warn you strongly enough not to use her.

It is confident building when your accountant understands your situation and can make some $ saving suggestions. Isn't this what they all should do?!? Nope, they do not all do that. Some of the big firms we have since worked with make a meal out of simple things and do not have any proactive suggestions. I miss Mimi. Worst customer service ever. I highly DO NOT recommend coming here for any tax services done. My…read moredad requested to have his own information sent to him through email. To validate his identity, my dad sent over a copy of his driver's license. They said, "No, he has to show up in person to verify his identity." Does HR Block require you to show up to their business to verify your identity? Does Turbo Tax require you to show up to their business to verify your identity? The answer is simple: NO! You verify your identity with your driver's license or passport and/or SSN and/or address and they will send you your information. Additionally, they decided to inform other people in the family that my dad was trying to access his OWN information. If that's not a violation of his own privacy, then I don't know what is. My dad doesn't have a handler and he is capable enough to handle his own personal information. If I wanted my own information and someone says, "Hold on, I have to tell this other person first before I can give you your information", would you not question them and say to yourself why someone else needs to be notified before you can acquire your own information? DEFINITELY. Furthermore, on a completely different situation, I called them because they were my parents' tax advisors. I called them to ask for clarification regarding tax implications about a specific situation because my parents are older and didn't fully understand what they had been told. So I called to gather further details and confirm if what was told to my parents' was accurate. The gentleman who answered the phone call responded to me in a very rude tone, "I already told your parents this, why are they having you call again? I already told your mom several times, so I don't understand why they keep asking about it?" As a client (now previous client), you would not expect a PROFESSIONAL to speak to you in that harsh and rude tone. But that was my continued negative experience with TBS Bookkeeping and Income Tax. Never again will I have my parents come here to file their taxes with them nor would I EVER recommend them to anyone. Please go find someone or a business that knows how to handle personal information properly and if you request your own information, that they don't go telling other people you're trying to obtain your own information. Also, find a place with better customer service and who doesn't speak to you in an egregious fashion.
