We walked into the makeup room and myself, my sister, and the step-daughters to-be were immediately barked at by Kim for getting in her way while she was doing moms makeup. We communicated to her that we were super laid back about getting our hair and makeup done by her assistant- we had all come pretty much ready anyways and wanted to have some sweet mother daughter time before the wedding. Whenever the assistant finished a girls touchups, Kim shouted at the room and chastised us for being unorganized when we didn't respond to her in the same second. I had been a wedding planner for years before and I have never witnessed such foul behavior from a wedding makeup artist. This was the last straw from me so I got up and told her the shouting was unacceptable and we were here to have a beautiful day and the makeup was not the priority. my moms hair and makeup was only half done (after 1.5 hours I might add) and she threatened to walk out of the room without finishing if I did not stop "interrupting her work". I'm not one for negative reviews but this experience was shocking to say the least and I just don't want any other brides having this same experience. A year later, Kim has also been calling and harassing my mother, the bride, to tell me to take down my negative reviews of her online, so save yourself the trouble and book a makeup artist who will help create a warm and happy environment on the most important day of your life.

Recently I've been super busy at work, so I kind of dropped the ball on scheduling at one of my usual spots, so I decided to give Nola's a try. The basic facial is $75, and it lasts about 70 minutes. For an extra $10, you can add on a peel. They're closed on Monday and Sunday. Scheduling was pretty easy. I called and left a message, and was called back within 24 hours, and they scheduled an appointment without demanding a credit card. Cool! Once you walk in, it's hard to believe you're only a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Grand Ave. The treatment rooms are on the small side, but they're nicely decorated with drapey fabric. I forgot to get the name of my facialist, but she was VERY MELLOW. They do NOT push product like some other places. Everything they used smelled really good. It was so soothing she thought I had fallen asleep. Now here's why they only get 4 stars. I got extractions - part of why I get facials, I want a professional to squeeze the gunk out. Well, I think she left the peel on some of the extracted areas too long. I generally have some puffiness or redness immediately after a facial, but within a few days I am glowing and happy. This time I ended up with one little spot that just can't be covered by makeup. I am praying that it resolves itself before picture time. I will revise my review after a few more days of recovery. I will probably go back here, because the overall experience was great. I ran into a friend about 30 minutes later, and she couldn't tell I had just gotten a facial, which was cool. The prices for waxing are within the range of other nice places in the Bay, but more expensive than the back room of a nail shop.

I had a very positive experience despite some minor confusion about what's meant by "extended bikini" versus "brazilian" (which she cleared up before we started and ensured I felt comfortable paying for what I had anticipated when I walked in the door) and my expectations about how long the whole thing should take (I also got my legs done). A week later I had my combo brow appointment and when they were drawn on pre-tattoo, I told her they were too large and I wanted to keep to my natural brows. I ended up with huge brows that were drawn on outside my natural eyebrows. They were also misshaped with one eyebrow noticeably a different shape. All I wanted was enhancing my natural brows but Amy did what she wanted. I consulted two other artists to look at the work by AP brow studio and they confirmed it was a botched job. I had to pay for emergency removal in the first 48 hours post my initial session. The studio that did my removal said I was NOT their first emergency removal from AP Brow studio. I wish I would have followed my gut after my initial consult appointment. I didn't feel like she listened or wanted to do what I requested (size, shape, natural looking, etc). Tattoos on your face are not worth taking any chances! Avoid this place! Save your money and go to another eyebrow artist!

I called her with less than two weeks to go until my wedding and though she had another one that day, she still squeezed me in Saturday early afternoon. I've never liked the results when someone else has done my makeup, but she's phenomenal. Her techniques were sooo precise and detailed. She spent time on me, but I still came out looking like myself.... only better. What's as important, if not moreso, than her skill is how soothing and mellow she was. I had some serious nerves/stomach issues that day, but she just talked to me like we were old friends. When she wasn't talking, she was doting on me, ordering me club soda and coming up with other solutions. She had such a calming effect and was one of the highlights of the day, truly. I paid about $175, which may seem like a lot but I talked to makeup artists who started at $300. Lenore was worth it. Call her.

Au'jhante tells me she's unable to do it at the moment when asked when she's available. Au'jhante told me she could do it the following month. I told her to let me know when. She tells me she's going to resend me her link to reschedule. I waited and nothing. Now she won't even respond to me. There wouldn't have been an issue if she was a stand up person and kept her word. It's sad when you tell someone you would fix the mistake you made and she blows you off really says a lot about a person character. If I knew she was that type of character I would have not let her touch nothing and do nothing on me she's bad business. If I could give her 0 's I would. I was getting married in Aspen and had a previous makeup trial with a different artist that went terribly wrong. This particular makeup artist did not listen to what I wanted and decided to give me the complete opposite makeup look than the pictures I showed her. Obviously feeling annoyed and defeated, I continued my search. This is when I came across Bronwyn's Instagram page and instantly knew I found my girl! Bronwyn was quick to respond and flexible on scheduling a trial. My trial was flawless. Bronwyn listened to exactly what I wanted and chose the perfect colors that matched my features and made my eyes pop. She even gave me the option of doing 2 different looks for me to choose. I loved that she cared that much to make sure I was happy. Both looks she gave me were amazing and hard to choose just one! I felt immediately relieved that I found such a talented artist. She also traveled to Aspen from Dallas for my wedding. Bronwyn was readily available all day for my rehearsal and wedding day. I was over an hour late for my rehearsal makeup appointment (and obviously felt terrible) and she kept telling me that there were no worries and she was happy to wait. This obviously calmed my crazy bride nerves instantly. Someone like her is hard to come by! Bronwyn also did makeup on my mom and bridesmaids makeup and made everyone look like a million bucks! The girls were over the moon at how amazing they looked which made my day even more perfect. My wedding was outside on top Aspen Mountain on a warm sunny June day. My makeup lasted the entire day and night of dancing and I did not need to reapply once. I cannot even tell you how many compliments I received on my makeup and how beautiful my eyes looked.
