A nice, modern, trendy eatery along the Albufeira boardwalk, we were sucked in on our first night by a greeter touting Happy Hour specials. With a large terrace overlooking the sea, we had a wonderful view of our first Algarve sunset.
At €1.75 a pint for the local draft beer, Super Bock, we were off to a good start. They also had pitchers of Sangria for €10, but they were mostly ice and not a great value.
We decided to keep it simple, ordering a couple "Big Boy" beef burgers (€5.90) with cheese (€1), an orders of fries (chips - €1.50) and potato wedges (€2.50) as well as a side salad (€2.50). The burgers were good with large, flavorful beef patties (250g) on a tasty roll, similar to a ciabatta, that was crusty outside and soft and warm inside. The only thing I did not particularly like was the seasoning in the burger, tasting similar to spices I ate while in India, but I could not quite put my finger on which one it was. All I know is that it probably does not belong in a hamburger patty. The potatoes were also pretty darn good as was the salad, coming with lettuce, tomato, red and green bell pepper, onion and cucumber.
At less than $40 (€35) for two beers, a pitcher of sangria, a liter of sparkling water, two cheese burgers, two fries, and a salad, this place was a very good value. They also have live music many evenings starting at 18:30. The service was friendly and efficient and the setting perfect for our first evening in this beautiful locale.
