Fun place! The mini golf course is very compact, but still challenging. They have a nice selection of board games, and trivia nights on Wednesdays. Fantastic assortment of brews available, and you can fill growlers to go! They don't serve food in-house, but you can order from other places nearby. Just recently had my wife's 30th birthday party here. Amazing venue for everyone to enjoy. Jeff was super easy to book this event with and they were even kind enough for us to use their fridge to store our ice cream cake. Flatstick is an amazing addition to Kirkland's bar scene with a wide beer selection and friendly funny peeps behind the bar. They have some contract with the Sounders FC, so you can be assured to watch a game there (more often than not with some sound on, unless it's a trivia night or something like that). This bar has an awesome concept and a really fun vibe. I would definitely recommend coming here for a beer or two if you're in the neighborhood - but I would definitely not recommend hosting a party here. I recently hosted my boyfriends birthday party here and the staff was very unimpressive. They were not helpful or friendly and actually seemed annoyed I was there hosting a party with 25 people. I reserved the party space until 10 pm and the staff basically ignored us until then - we had to be packed up and cleaned up by 10 exactly. I can completely understand that there was another party using the space after us but I think there is a much friendlier way to approach it. For such a cool/laid back bar you'd think the staff would be friendly and inviting but that was definitely not the case! read more

So glad the reviewer below enjoyed the reserved space. My wife and I stopped in to reserve that space one week ago. We bought a growler and a couple of mugs, dropped about $50 and the person at the counter took our name and number and assured us it was reserved for us. It was crazy busy and he never took our credit card, so I was skeptical. My doubts were confirmed when we returned to celebrate my birthday with friends and family and were told the space was reserved- evidently by the aforementioned reviewer. The person at the till was not helpful-his attitude was basically, "sucks to be you". Well, I'm glad she enjoyed the space and had a good time. Great location to host a party but this new business should focus a little more on service...The location/atmosphere was very fun. Everyone had a great time. My only comments for the owners for the future - I was never asked if I needed anything or if they (employees) could help in anyway. But this wasn't an issue - The only thing I went to an employee to ask for was ice - I was told you don't have ice? I thought this was strange. I asked for some ice for a bucket and was told you don't have ice. Maybe this is common for pubs and its just new to me. My only other comment was unfortunately I overheard a gal working there talking about me twice - First to comment "Is that the 2:00 party? Why are they already here?" I interupted and said, "I was told it would be OK to set up at 1 - Is it a problem?" Luckily another staff member heard and quickly responded with a polite answer. I also overheard the same gal commenting, 'Why did they bring in pop to drink?" I didn't answer because it wasn't appropriate but I was told we could bring in our own drinks for the kids. Great plus about this place - You can bring in your own drinks (non alcoholic of course) and order food from whever you'd like. Never given a 1 star review before. Very unprofessional bar staff. Asked for a recommendation on an IPA that was a bit on the "piney" side. The response was, "our IPAs are numbers 11-15." No recommendation given. Next time to the bar I decided to buy a round for me and my friends. Even though I had a tab open for the past two hours, I was asked to provide not one but THREE IDs for the round, even after I said that we've had a tab open for the past few hours. Ridiculous. I don't like IPA or any dark beer so i was so happy they had different types of ciders to choose from! The staff are great and very friendly!!! Tonight was the third time my wife and I went to Flatstick Pub in maybe 18 months. Once again the service was horrible. We walked in the main door, about 5-6 people were just standing talking, so we walked around them and went to the bar and stood behind some empty barstools. We got no acknowledgement from the two bartenders, so we sat down to show that we were staying at the bar. No service was rendered. The bartendebders continued to walk to the end of the bar and serve other individuals, without acknowledging we were waiting. Multiple times I made eye contact with the bartender, he still did not approach my wife and I, not even to tell us it would be a minute. Customer service is paramount, they are lacking evening the minimum atandard to be acceptable. I recommend you go anywhere else in Kirkland, you will at least be acknowledged. read more

I only found out about this place a week ago from another pub I go to. Mainly I look for places with at least 30 taps. Someone told me it had 50+. I forgot about it for a few days, and when I was at another pub, I remembered it. Someone at the bar told me it was a good place and it had about 40 taps. I decided to go that night. They have 24 taps. Not bad, but a FAR cry from 40 or 50. Before I went, I knew it was in Kirkland and had a mini golf course. I was not told this is primarily a very young person hang out. I went at 9 pm, figuring during the week it would be pretty dead. Nope, this place was BUSY. Only two bartenders. This place is hard to find. My GPS put me in the right area. I looked around for 15 minutes and finally asked someone on the street. Turns out it is inside a building and downstairs. There is a high hanging sign outside with no details. Pretty much everybody there looked college age. I was hard pressed to find anybody who clearly looked 30, and definitely not 40. I am very against going to places where the average age is 25, because they are all young partying kids. Well, that is what this place is. Totally looks like a college hang out. Had I known that, I wouldn't have gone. Service was a little slow because only two bartenders worked the entire place. They needed at least 1 waitress. Prices were good. I did not like the ambiance. I was really surprised the first person who told me about it didn't mention it is a "I just turned 21!!" place, because he was in his 40s. This is definitely not the place for me. I don't want to be around college kids partying. Fair service, good beer selection (24 is not GREAT to me), but the place is kind of a dive, and the crowd is too young and loud for me. *********************** Reply to Sam L the business owner below: I would also like the address the amount of taps and the freshness you mentioned. Most kegged beer will last *at least* 60 days, but often longer, and some over 1 year. I've had beer from a 6 month old keg that was perfectly fine. A large tap selection, even with a moderate crowd, will go through beer quickly. I disagree having less taps means fresher beer. The keg from a distributor could sit in a warehouse for months. Less taps does not necessarily mean faster rotation and fresher beer. It means less selection. Even 50 taps can rotate pretty quickly. ***** Final update: Sam is an accountant, not a brewer, and it is rather obvious to me that he really did not know what he is talking about when it comes to beer quality. He is on the business side, not production, not quality control. That is fine. But I would recommend that he sticks to what he knows rather than trying to have a discussion on a subject he is unfamiliar with. I wish him and his business the best of luck, but I will not be a return customer. I don't want to be around drunk college age kids, or a business owner that doesn't know the subject matter we are discussing. read more

So, super cool place to hang out. You can take your dogs here, the beer and cider are great, and they have mini golf. The mini golf course even has stands at each hole to rest your drinks. The problem is that this place is always super loud and crowded, and if you bring your dog a lot of people who've had a few drinks could potentially freak out your dog.
