I have been a customer of Aethetic Solutons for the last 8 - 10 years. I loved Liina and was disappointed when she left, however, Karen has been just as great. When Dr. Z sold the business I was not surprised as he was more into the treatment and not day to day business end of Aesthetic Solutions. For the first 6 months under the new owner, Lance, the changes were mainly cosmetic - new front area, discussions of standardizing the dress code to scrubs and changing some product lines. I was in sticker shock on my last two visits. My injectible, which was anywhere between $130 - $150 over the last 5 years not was $190 for the same amount - an increase of 26%. My laser touch up went from $35 to $50 - an increase of 30%! The prices are now much higher than other places with fewer specials being run. The "fun" atmosphere is also gone - the front office staff is completely different and not as friendly and the providers I have seen since the change do not seem as happy and it shows in their demenanor during services and even just chatting while checking out. I appreciate Lance is more approaching this as a business, which is needed. However, double digit increases in services is not something I was prepared to pay when there was no notice of the price changes. A few dollars, fine. But I budgeted based on what I previously paid and actually asked, both time, for a breakdown given how much more everything is. Once my injectible card expires I will not be returning and will be finding a new laser clinic in the immediate future.

After looking into multiple treatment options to address broken capillaries (telangiectasia) and…read moreage spots (solar lentigines), I decided on the Sciton BBL HEROic skin treatment. The claim on Sciton's website states that with their new BBL HEROic treatment, "patients can see noticeable improvements almost immediately". After additional research to find the right provider, I chose Youthbar (based on their reviews) and paid $1,200 to have the Sciton BBL HEROic treatment on my face, neck and chest. Sadly, I haven't seen any noticeable / visible improvements. When the esthetician (Alexis) texted me to see how I was doing after the treatment, I called her back to share my disappointment regarding the lack of results. Alexis then proceeded to blame me for setting my expectations too high and told me that I needed to have a series of treatments before seeing any results. Throughout our phone conversation, she kept saying, "as we discussed prior to your treatment" at the end of almost every sentence. FYI - my expectations ARE extremely reasonable due to the fact that I've had multiple successful skin treatments elsewhere in the past (including Sciton IPL and BBL) with visibly good results after only one treatment. This is exactly why I chose to have another BBL treatment (this time with Sciton's latest improved technology / equipment). Please note that I wasn't blaming Alexis, but it certainly felt like she was shaming me for choosing the Sciton BBL HEROic treatment. Of course, she did mention several times how great the $3,500 CO2 laser treatment is and how it would take care of all of my skin issues. While I'm sure it's wonderful, I had explained to her multiple times (on the day of the BBL treatment) why I didn't want to have the CO2 laser treatment at this time. So, in response to the lack of results with the BBL treatment, Alexis suggested that I text her photos showing the areas of concern and then come back in 6 weeks to talk to her and another esthetician about it (and possibly have another treatment - BBL for the face for $600). Not only is this poor customer service, but dismissing a client's concerns regarding the treatment outcome is not beneficial to anyone. This is not how you grow your business. At the very least, Alexis should have invited me to come back to Youthbar to look at my skin IN PERSON and then figure out how to rectify the situation. Before this negative ordeal, I was excited and looking forward to having other treatments at Youthbar. However, after my experience, I cannot recommend this place. Apparently, they don't care if clients are unhappy when there are no visible results and they certainly aren't willing to make it right (unless you intend on spending more money).

I called to schedule a new patient exam and was asked what I'm interested in. After answering that question (with my concern about potential skin cancer) was I told that the doctors are not accepting new patients. I told the receptionist that it was strange to be asked what I'm interested in first, if the doctor is not accepting new patients. I asked if the answer would be different if I was interested in cosmetic services and she told me "yes". There would be a significant wait, but I could schedule for a cosmetic consult, and I could not have medical concerns addressed at such a visit. This told me everything I need to know about this practice. Skin cancer, which is potentially lethal, is not something they have time for - cosmetics pay much more.

Injector wasn't pleasant, I absolutely felt like an inconvenience and she was very clear that offering Groupons was hurting her bottom line. Die offered to use another product which I had never heard of instead. I declined. I saw no results and cannot confirm how many units I actually received or what it was. The entire experience felt very sketchy. As a first time patient you are also required to sit through some sort of skin care training and laser upsell. Some of the info was helpful but the experience was just odd and I felt regret throughout. Not worth the discount. Unfortunate.

I'm not someone who wants to walk around with a frozen face just because a spa wanted to upcharge me on units. Rachel is the opposite. She is meticulous and knows how to achieve a natural, youthful look that isn't frozen or over-corrected. I am actually getting compliments on how good I look (it's summer so everyone thinks it's. tan - but it's not! It's Rachel's beautiful work). I'll be 40 in September and I look smooth and flawless. Best part is when I smile, it's an actual smile and not frozen-Botox look. FWIW, I've been getting Botox and Dysport for about 13 years. I've done it all - the big city spas that charge an arm and a leg (I was in San Francisco for 10 years), plastic surgeons in Denver and also spas in Boulder. I actually go and interview people before I commit because I am not about to walk around with a frozen face for six months because I was over-injected. I want to get a feel for how they treat their customers and I've seen it all. Boulder is lucky to have Rachel. She is on par with the spas in metro cities, which are very competitive and only those who understand a natural look survive. Can't sing her enough praises. She has a lifelong customer and that is coming from someone who won't work with other med spas in Boulder.
