This season my sprinklers were sputtering constantly. I suspected a defective solenoid but didn't have the expertise to fix it myself. Flatiron Sprinkler sent a couple guys over within 2 days. They did *excellent* work, and were totally dedicated to making me happy. There were two defective solenoids, which they replaced. Then in testing one zone was still exhibiting the symptom so they found that my clock had a defective breaker module and swapped that out. I know they weren't over-selling because the foreman showed me before-and-after swapping the module how it solved the problem. Then at my request they extended my sprinkler system. Again, they were super dedicated to making it work just the way I wanted. I'm delighted with the result. Would definitely hire them again. read more

My letter today to Flatirons Sprinkler Co. James: Here are some pictures of the work being done this morning on zone three. This is the zone that your team spent many hours on recently. Here's what we found today: A 2" tree root was growing over the pipes and was pinching the pipe causing it to split. They apparently didn't dig down to the pipes because of the undisturbed soil around the pipes. The head wasn't repaired at all. Location us in the planting bed, it was set too low, and the riser came up only about one inch over the soil. It has to be moved onto the lawn for proper coverage. The landscaping was left in a sloppy mess. The fabric was not replaced in a professional manner. At zone 4 the head near the gate had a broken fitting at the base which was not replaced. They stuck it back in the soil, replaced the grass and made it look like a finished job. That took about 10 minutes to do. Zones 3 and 4 weren't repaired. Zone 5 was not done correctly the first time and had to be worked two different days. These aren't high level repairs. I'm told these should've veen done in a more timely manner by a better trained technician. I'd like you to void the bill. It's poor business practice that repairs have to be done multiple times both by your company and another one. F.S. Blum Boulder, Co. read more

Replace shutoff valve in meter pit I thought they did a good job replacing the shutoff valve which is not complicated - the hard part was digging out the meter pit to gain access to replace the valve. (Estimated 4 hours for 2 people actually took 5 hours including trip to the store for the valve). The problem started when I got the bill and called to question the amount. The bill was $1,500 with no detail. Based upon the repair rate of $85/hr on their website and one new brass shutoff valve I expected the bill to be less than $1,000. I called their office and talked to Karen to explain my concern about the bill and was told the rate on the website has been outdated for a while and the current rate is $95/hr for 1 person or $150/hr for 2 people. I said that would still come out to less than $1,000. She said she would talk to the owner and get back to me. A few days later she left me a voice message and said the new price is $2,100. I called Karen back and said I still don't understand how it could be that much. Her reply was -- that's what the owner said and that the price of brass and copper went up and that in addition to the brass valve they used copper elbows, couplings and 5 - 6 feet of copper tubing. (It should be noted that they only replaced one brass valve and used one copper coupling. They used the existing copper tubing with the threaded ends to reattach the valve). I said the labor portion based on her rates would be $750 which meant the brass valve would be $1350. That doesn't make sense. She said she would honor the previous invoice for $1,500. I said I'd like to see the details on how they determined the amount. She said she is only the messenger and I would need to talk to the owner. I asked her to have him call me. The owner did call me back, but it wasn't pleasant. He just said to pay the bill - he would not listen to what I wanted to say. He said if I don't pay the bill he would come and remove the valve and then I would have to get a plumber to replace it, or he'd send the account to collections. He continued to say pay the bill and talk loudly and over me. When I asked him to let me talk, he hung up.... Apparently, he doesn't like to be questioned, especially about substantiating his billing. He shows no regard for his customers and is not concerned about retaining customers, referrals, or negative reviews. read more

Buyer Beware!!!! Overcharged and installed components incorrectly. Was in a bind when they were used and they basically double billed for time. Then I had to have project re-done within 2 seasons due to incorrect installation. Owners did not return phone calls and played games when I continued to try and reach them. When I presented them with proof of their incorrect install they refused to accept responsibility. Have heard of similar stories from other people who used them in the past read more

These guys did a great job for a great price. I will definitely use them again. I had a leak somewhere in my system and I tried to find the leak and was pretty sure where it was but it was going to be a lot of digging and then I'd have to fix the leak. They found the leak and repaired it in about an hour. I had been doing my own digging to find the leak and they filled my holes and made it all look neat as if there had been no problem. I only have on data point but it's positive and I will definitely be using them again to fix some sprinklers so I will get so more data points. read more

I had a new system installed. Covering my whole property which includes garden, garden beds, lawn, and shrub. It's a mix off raising sprinklers for my big garden (extra high), raising/rotating heads for my lawn and drip for beads and trees. It's absolutely beautifully done. The whole aria is well covered with multiple sprinkler heads. They laid my lawn back so I can bearly see there was any work done. Taking the time to dig under my existing raised beds to get the drip system in the beds so you can't see it. The job is truly well done, not rushed or fast put togheter. I'm so pleased with their job, I will strongly recommend flatiron to friends and family. And I will definitely be using them myself for upcoming jobs. I got a clear and good walk through off the system, how to turn it off/on and run the system from the computer. It's worth mentioning that flatiron sprinkler does jobs for parks and recreation areas and also did a job for the botanic garden. They know what they doing. read more

Rod came out to give me an estimate. He was 45 minute late and no phone call. That is ok, I know it is a busy time of year for them. What was not ok was him trying to tell me that I had to redo my entire sprinkler system - all five zones. I have been piece by piece restoring my yard, and two of the zones and the control box and the controller are two years old. One of the other zones works great. The other two I wanted some work done on as well as some new grass laid. Basically, what Rod was saying was if I can swindle you and make a bunch of money, then I will. Otherwise, this is too small of a job for me. I am fine if you don't want my work because it is too small a job, that is your decision, but don't lie to me. Also, don't say things like, "you could get Jaul Carlos Jose" to come do it." Statements like that show a total lack of cultural sensitivity bordering on bigotry. read more

Flatiron Sprinkler came highly recommended. After speaking with them about some maintenance and repair needs on my large complicated well based system, they verbally confirmed with gusto that they were the best to take care of my problems and I scheduled an appointment for them to come out to work on the system. I had to wait two weeks for them to come out because they were busy, but was ok doing so because they committed to being the best to solve my complicated system. After waiting two weeks, they called me 2 hours before the appointment to notify me that my property was outside of there service area and they wouldn't be able to take care of me. Keep in mind my property in broomfield is within there website stated coverage area and I had already discussed location with them 2 weeks prior when making the appointment. No courtesy , no customer service, rude on the phone...simply don't care about there customers. If there was a zero star option, they would deserve it. Find another sprinkler company for your needs, they don't want your business. read more

I went to them after viewing the feedback on Yelp and google. But had a bad experience, guy who came was not an owner and was least helpful switched the sprinkler on and corrected pipe leakage, but didn't adjusted sprinklers, for everything answer was if i will do it it will be $50. Charged me $115, insisted and took cash even though I was told I can pay next day through card or I can give cheque. I had to call another company to get the sprinklers replaced and adjusted. read more
