Cute little park that is stroller friendly! lots of sidewalk trail that goes into the forest area. I went with my dad and two toddlers and they loved seeing all the butterflies. Nice little park to visit to be outdoors.

Looking for a leisurely walk/hike, Flat Fork Creek Park is for you! Paved, non-paved... you choose. The non-paved trails have a few water views and access to the look-out towers. The views are worth the climb(the panoramic photo of the boardwalk was taken from a look-out tower). Speaking of views... there's a 60-ft hill you should definitely hike up(it's paved) and the sunset view you get from the top is amazing! I'd suggest taking up a blanket with you to sit in the grass. There is wooden post type seating(similar to what you see in western movies that they tie their horses up to- ha! It's definitely not a flat a seat) at the top, however, I've been there three times and no matter how dry it is outside there's always mud around them - not ideal. Something worth noting is that the 60-foot hill is known as THE SLEDDING HILL - The kid in me LOVES this!! I will definitely be returning this winter with friends!

This expansive park offers a diverse range of activities, from paved surfaces and hiking trails to mountain bike paths and sledding hills. A standout is the unique walking path leading to the hilltop, with a gradual incline for easy ascent. The park caters to all--adults, children, and dogs--with numerous bicycle and scooter paths. Don't miss the tree-house-like structures scattered around, including one with a ladder for an elevated view. A huge bridge weaves through the wooded area, featuring staircases for convenient exits. My visit surpassed expectations--I intended a 30-minute walk but ended up staying over an hour, thoroughly enjoying the experience!

Finally got to go sledding this winter! Been wanting to go all winter long, but timing and the amount of snow never seemed to align, until today. Researching some good sledding hills in Indiana, this one seemed the closest to us and the steepest. We're all about thrill over here. The info about it included that it wasn't safe for little children. Arriving at the location, we noticed it was pretty busy. They have a parking lot for access and the hill is free to use, just bring your own sled. Many different types of sleds were used, it was fun to see. The way the hill looked, it didn't seem appropriate for little children but they were out there. There isn't anyone patrolling the area, so it's pretty much sled at your own risk. To get to the top of the hill, there is a pathway on one side which is nice. Use with caution as it can be slick with the snow. There are benches at the very top of this hill made out of tree bark as resting may be necessary after getting all the way up, it's a breath taker literally. Now the the sledding: absolutely thrilling! There are so many different ways to go down. Some ways have ramps so beware of flying off the sled. One thing to watch out for was other people down the hill. Because it was busy, hitting someone was always a possibility, especially since many people just hung out at the bottom. Even though it wasn't the safest for kids, there was tons of kids out there today, so watch out. I seen multiple times where someone got hit. Nevertheless, i had a blast sledding and will definitely come back for any sledding escapades!

What a terrific park! The paved walking trails were perfect for a Saturday morning stroll with our pup. I enjoyed checking out the mountain biking trails - they look like a lot of fun. I'll definitely be back in the winter to enjoy the sledding hill too!

This is probably a really fun park when there's sunshine and a slight breeze as opposed to thick grey clouds and 30 mph gusts that we seem to have sitting on top of central Indiana during our third winter in the middle of this pandemic. I drove up here just so I would have a change of scenery as I took yet another walk to pass the time and get some healthy exercise in for the day. I was also hoping it might even be enjoyable. Well...that last part was certainly not happening. But seriously, I'll bet this is a fun place to hang out when the weather is better. I saw some dirt trails that were under the tree canopy that looked interesting, but on the day I visited, that meant more cold shade, so I stayed up on the paved path in the open. So yes, two types of trails there that you can enjoy. If you need a paved one, it's there for you. If you want more realistic hiking, then hit the dirt path below. Flat Fork Creek also has a big sledding hill for those days in true winter when it's almost as cold as our new May weather now is. There is a paved path that winds back and forth across the front of the sledding hill instead of stairs, which is a pretty different to climbing a steep hill. This park has a pond in front of the parking lot, which I'm assuming is for fishing. There's also a shelter with restrooms and a large covered picnic area. I'd really like a do-over for my trip. The weather spoiled it, as it's spoiling everything during this pandemic. I'll bet I will find even more things to love here in the warm sunshine.

Indiana sure is purdy, ain't she? This is most apparent when one goes on hikes in the various wild-ish places that exist in the area. Flat Fork Creek Park is a place that appeals to me, a die-hard city girl, because it exists amongst "nature," but it also has wonderful things like paved walkways, trash cans every few hundred feet, and restrooms. Now I can enjoy nature but also have modern amenities nearby. Also: There are tree houses! This is one of the reasons to visit this park -- the tree houses. There are a handful along various points along the walking trail. Who doesn't like climbing up stairs to view the forest from a high-up lookout point? (No one, that's who.) The tree houses are pretty cool. Kids like them, especially. There is also a sledding hill here, which will come in handy during the snowy winter months. It's pretty steep, so it looks like an adventurous place to bring your sled. Please note: No playground exists here. You will need to make your own fun.

Omg we had sooo much fun! I can't believe I've waited so long to come out here!!! I went mountain bike riding with my 7yo on the mountain bike trail in the woods. It was awesome!!! It was very rigorous and there were definitely sections he had to walk his bike and even I was a little hesitant but it was so much fun. You can take it at your own pace. Be aware of of other riders and take your time if scared. Bring your helmet and sunscreen and bug spray. The sledding hill is awesome too. Challenge your kids to race you up (hint its steep and hard !) There is a shelter in the front witbtables and bathrooms. There are little fishing ponds in the front as well. There are little areas to set up and fish and there are gravel trails around it. So much nature! So much beauty!!! Can't wait to come back already!

This was a great park to visit on an evening after work. It wasn't crowded, and there are some nice trails and features like a pond, a small creek, a large walking/sledding hill, and some tree houses. A good portion of the paths are either paved (including a lathe up the hill) or boardwalk, which makes this particular park an ideal option if it's rained and the parks that are mostly trails are too muddy.

The only bad I would have to say is twice while staying at the campground the power went out. I do NOT! Recommend staying at the INN, Abr Martin Lodge. It needs a major renovation. The air was out in all 5 rooms they tried to put us in. The beds needed a major cleaning. Two were pee stained sheets. The last had dead bugs. The overlooks throughout the park are breathtaking. A definite visit at sunset or sunrise.

The playground has a really neat play structure with lots of ropes, ramps and things to climb. My kids had a lot of fun here -- it's set up almost like an obstacle course.
