This branch of USC is quite a large store in Meadowhall Shopping Centre, as I recall it is in the…read moreLower Gallery area of the large shopping centre, and it is below Sports Direct, while also being fairly close to Starbucks - Lower Gallery branch and stores including Mothercare and Millie's Cookies. I came in this store while shopping in Meadowhall looking to buy some new shoes or trainers, with my current ones looking a little old/tacky now, I was impressed by the range of brands in the store yet I was originally confused with the store layout at first as the "store" has two stores in with USC at the bottom and Sports Direct upstairs in the lift, this is probably down to USC being owned by Sports Direct and hence the reason my receipt had the Sports Direct branding also. The staff in the store seemed nice enough, although they seemed a little rushed at times as I did visit on a Saturday Afternoon where Meadowhall as a whole appeared to be very busy. I wanted to look at trying on two pairs of trainers in my size, eventually, I was told they only had one on, luckily they were in a sale at a saving of around £30-£40 pounds, I ended up buying the Hugo Boss shoes I saw. The overall selection of the store for multiple brands was good including Nike, Hugo Boss, Polo and Tommy Hilfiger, as well as various others. After I was unsure about my purchase the staff member offered to put the shoes behind the counter while I looked at pricing them up elsewhere to see if the saving really was good, due to the name printed inside the shoes and on the box being very vague, I struggled doing this and eventually decided to buy them as I did like the shoes and the saving appeared to be good. The overall checkout experience was awful and the woman who served me didn't appear to be too friendly, I originally asked for a JD style duffle bag, similar to what JD Sports and Footasylum use, to be told they had something similar, eventually I found out they cost £1.50 as I went to pay which I found to be shocking and disgusting, considering I wasn't charged this and it basically is just a bag, I then had a long wait with no apology or explanation for these to be knocked off my bill as I suppose my server couldn't do this? This was frustrating and drawn out my purchase to take much longer than it needed to be which was a shame. Overall, due to a very good selection of shoes, especially for someone like myself who normally struggles to find a decent pair of shoes, and a satisfactory range of items too which aren't footwear, including bags and sportswear, and the overall feel of the store being quite good I do feel the branch deserves a three-star rating, yet there are some big issues with this store such as the amount of staff perhaps needing to be increased at weekends, as well as a varying level of service throughout the staff members, in general, going from close to excellent to close to terrible (the point where you want to walk out of the store and cancel your purchase even).

One of two Primark locations in Sheffield, this branch is located in the large Meadowhall Shopping…read moreCentre, the largest shopping centre in Yorkshire and the eleventh largest in the UK (It still feels bigger?) This store is a decent size, it isn't up there with the biggest Primark locations in Birmingham and Manchester, being over just two floors, but it is pretty decent for the location as extra amenities such as a branded coffee shop and other "interesting" factors aren't needed as they basically have it all nearby within the centre anyway. For a Primark store, the store was pretty spacious, making it more pleasant to get around and shop compared to other locations. The store was pretty bright and modern, and although it differed to the colour scheme and layout to the stores in the North East, Birmingham and other stores around the country, it still felt pretty modern and of course, with any Primark store, the prices are pretty decent and affordable too. Not a bad branch of the Irish discount clothing chain, in a good location. 3*

There is a lot more choice then in the city centre and has more sizes. There are loads of clothes for ladies to pick and choose from, handbags and accessories to underwear. The quality is average sometimes a bit poor on some items but its to be expected. Upstairs there is a small home wear section, mainly bedding and cushions. There is a good shoe selection, including leather shoes. The men's wear is ok but not as good as the ranges available for women. Also the children's wear is great for clothes for boys and girls. The prices are cheap and the clothes are on trends and keeps up with the likes of topshop. The staffs are a mixed bunch with some being really friendly to others that don't even speak to you at the tills, but really you only go in there for the cheap clothes not the customer services. The store is kept tidy, the rails do get a bit messy on busy days but there are plenty of staff trying to tidy them up. It is also horrible to go in on a Saturday or Sunday at peak times as its heaving and you can't get round properly. Also there are queues but these do go down fairly quickly.
