She is efficient with her training and instruction; I saw positive changes as soon as my horse and I started working with her. I can't say enough good things about what I've observed and experienced with Yasmin. Her regular students have consistently been in the ribbons at shows. I've watched her make great progress in a short time taking a horse with minimal training to being ridden. Today was my first lesson and every one of her suggestions improved my riding immediately. Because I've seen her put safety first with other riders, I trusted her to push me and my horse into progress while allowing me to feel brave and confident. The strategies she taught me today are already putting me on a path to be a better rider and my horse to be a more respectful and responsive partner.

I ended up finding Tower Hill Stables, only a short drive from me. Tower Hill Stables is exactly what you'd expect it to be. There are stables with beautiful horses and lots of land to wander around. The guided tours are, in my opinion, priced appropriately for an hour long ride. (There's a coupon on the website!) Basically, you walk around the large property on your horse, guided by an experienced rider. Our trail ride was basically private, since no one else had decided on our 11AM weekday time slot. It was really nice and calming. Glory, my horse, was a bit tired that morning, so we went a bit slow and occasionally had a bit of 'take out' from the trees on the path, but it was still lots of fun! After the ride, you get to hang around the stable and see the other horses. They're all too cute! The only thing this is lacking is an element that might extend your stay. I want to go with friends, but if we wanted to sit and chat, there's no place to do that, so we'd have to go to the neighboring town to find somewhere to talk about how awesome the ride was and maybe enjoy some food. Otherwise, this is a great place and I fully expect to go back before Winter hits!

Horses are well cared for, and a number of the families who board there allow the use of their horses for lessons and HorsePower Therapeutic Riding. Most of the people there are down to earth, horse loving individuals. I'm not interested in a perfect barn, shiny stalls and halls, and people who think they are too perfect to help people new to horses. This is a riding stable, not an event stable.

In just days they are already much happier and not so anxious and hungry all the time. My horses were together in an outdoor paddock with small shelter. After asking nicely to have this paddock cleaned ( poop everywhere including inside shelter), I finally had to give a worker there $$$ to have it cleaned. The horses are fed twice a day, 2nd feeding way too early at 3pm leaving the horses w/o food for up to 16 hrs (NO). I got yelled at for feeding my horses hay in the evening, even though I bought this hay myself and many of the other boarders did the same. My horses were fed in the mud due to laziness when they had a feeder available. No one would feed the ration balancer I provided because " they don't need it," even tho graining is supposed to be included and my horses LIVE for this little bit of grain. Eating their ration of hay thrown on the mud while standing in that mud is NOT acceptable. The staff is rude, argumentative and very unprofessional but no surprise as the MANAGER was also rude, unprofessional, condescending and crossed boundaries. As horse owners we all know the barn is supposed to be our " happy place," the place we relax and enjoy our horse(es). Sunset Hills is not that place. Even some of the nosey boarders gave attitude and made other boarders' business their own. The goats were always in their stall and badly in need of hoof trims, the indoor stalled horses were kept in stalls in a dark barn with little to no turnout, brought in very early. Of course they went right to their stalls... they knew hay would be there and they were hungry. IMO horses should not be locked in a small stall forced to breathe In and eat in their own urine and poop, being stalked for literally 16 hrs or so. Beware. This barn does not live up to its claims. For $460 a month per horse for outdoor shelter I expected at least basic horse care. This barn does NOT care. You and your horse deserve better than this place and believe me, better barns are out there! Good luck :)

The stall and arena are heated in the winter and have good cross ventilation in the summer. The facility and grounds are meticulously maintained and the arenas are perfectly groomed. I credit Shari with the help of Dr. Hanover and Dr. Henry for saving my horse's life 3 years ago. When he arrived he was on antibiotics for a condition that baffled a previous vet and trainer for about 8 months prior to moving to Long Grove. Shari called me and the vet at 9 pm on a Sunday when he appeared to have a "headache". She was right, he did. Ct scan showed a mass in his sinus. He would have died a slow death if I had not moved to Long Grove Farms -she pays attention to her horses and riders.
