Ordinarily we will not respond to negative reviews since we let our accomplishments speak for themselves. However, a client just pointed out a 2015 review of our farm that is so patently inaccurate that it bears a response. This client came to us with an attitude of self importance that several of us remember. We NEVER allow someone we do not know to be alone with one of our horses no matter what the claimed experience may be. In addition, many students come to us with ingrained unsafe habits, so first lessons are rarely more than a discovery of how safe that rider may be, and this rider had some seat issues of concern.
Frequently, we teach from horseback so more visual students have that extra input. The circumstances surrounding releasing the horse during this lesson were not as described and the conversations reported were inaccurate as well. We are not cavalier, disrespectful or rude. It is true that once her horse started the trot, some discomfort was evident, but those who know horses understand how this can and does happen with no reflection on care or awareness of staff. This client's demeanor was not pleasant or understanding. The fact that she found the "living room" (our entrance, with a small seating area) unacceptable reflects her expectations, not our abilities or standards. read more
