I am not sure how it has taken so long to write this review! Two years ago, TQA literally saved me…read more My confidence had unfortunately been broken by a series of unfortunate circumstances. As much as I loved every aspect of riding and horsemanship...I truly was at a low point, and possibly could have quit any day. Dundee and T'Neil are so understanding and in-tune with their students. They have helped me believe in myself again! They have also matched not only myself, but also my daughter with our dream ponies. We have learned so much, and have had a great time doing it. The property is beautiful, and the horses are HAPPY and HEALTHY! Sabrina is so attentive to our horses-and treats them as if they are her own. Our TQA family is worth every mile driven (we live in Chicago!). Love TQA!!!!

They used methods I'd never seen before to tweak little aspects of my posture and riding altogether. While my previous instructions at other barns had been rooted in posture and somewhat jerky hand and leg movements the trainers here helped to establish my understanding of how we can communicate with horses fluently through the gentle yet effective signaling of our hands and leg. Dundee and TNeil are some of the most knowledgeable (and patient) trainers you'll meet and the way that they instruct is clear and concise! Lots of reminders to stretch through my lower leg cause that's what I struggled with in the beginning lol. I've never been to a barn that takes better care of their horses from hoof to ear I'm sure their ponies are amongst the happiest in the world! They have large turnout areas a lovely indoor and outdoor arena and hosted get togethers to bring the team closer together. The barn is clean and I've never met anyone there that wasn't kind and helpful. They're truly a dedicated group of riders and I wish I'd found them sooner.

I wanted to do something fun before the weather turned on us, so I decided to look up stables with…read moretrail rides for all levels of riders. I ended up finding Tower Hill Stables, only a short drive from me. Tower Hill Stables is exactly what you'd expect it to be. There are stables with beautiful horses and lots of land to wander around. The guided tours are, in my opinion, priced appropriately for an hour long ride. (There's a coupon on the website!) Basically, you walk around the large property on your horse, guided by an experienced rider. Our trail ride was basically private, since no one else had decided on our 11AM weekday time slot. It was really nice and calming. Glory, my horse, was a bit tired that morning, so we went a bit slow and occasionally had a bit of 'take out' from the trees on the path, but it was still lots of fun! After the ride, you get to hang around the stable and see the other horses. They're all too cute! The only thing this is lacking is an element that might extend your stay. I want to go with friends, but if we wanted to sit and chat, there's no place to do that, so we'd have to go to the neighboring town to find somewhere to talk about how awesome the ride was and maybe enjoy some food. Otherwise, this is a great place and I fully expect to go back before Winter hits!
