There is something for all genders and ages. High Tide Outpost has a selection of gift items and ocean themed housewares as well. The prices appear more reasonable than area stores carrying comparable merchandise. We felt like we we ended up with more purchases for less money. It also has the feel of a more upscale shopping experience than its local competitors and the build is brand new. The selection of items and the number of brands represented are the best in the area from our perspective. The staff was super nice and super helpful. We had the opportunity to meet the owner who happened to be in store on her day off during our second visit.. She was genuinely nice and appreciative of our visit. Our family is so excited to have High Tide Outpost on this end of the beach. Definitely a worthy destination drive for those not living in the area or a must stop destination for visitors. I went in the next day to return and it was not the same nice lady at the counter who assisted me. I had the wrong receipt in the bag so she would not allow me to exchange. She was very annoyed. As many cameras as you have in this shop you can see I purchased the earrings the previous day. I will not be purchasing from this store again. My family and I can spend our money at other stores.

It is a treasure trove of upscale beach decor, women's clothing, accessories and gifts. The shop is bright and cheery and merchandised spectacularly. Your eyes can't take it all in and you feel the need to explore every nook and cranny of this boutique. There are many areas within this shop for jewelry, handbags, shoes, dish towels, beach tees, clothing, soaps, hand creams, placards and signs and so much more. I personally bought really cute sneakers, a soft Ocean Isle Beach sweatshirt and a bright fuchsia top. There were other things I wanted, but I just had to stop myself. The Mermaid Cove Boutique was so much that I was getting carried away. It's such a happy place. Go see for yourself. There are two other Mermaid Cove Boutiques. There's also very cute and funny beach themed decor. I also love the fact they have books about the kindred box. While it was touristy stuff, it made me happy to see so much Carolina stuff as a long time resident of them. NC hats, SSB stuff, and even simple little toys for the kids. The lady at checkout helped me pick the right size for a sweater I wanted. If it wasn't for her telling me I could try it on in a back room I never would've gotten the appropriate size.
