Looking for a swim suit? Check here first. They have sales on swimwear that's anywhere from 20-40% off! The rest of the stuff they sell at full retail so it's not a great bargain. But it is better quality than anything you'll find at Eagles, Wings, or whatever else random bird or ocean themed awkwardly named shop... that are scattered like annoying bits of sand all over the coast. Sorry it's just ridiculous how many of these stupid stores are out there! Yeah I've bought from them but it's still crazy the number of them. Ok so Tsunami is a good shop for name brands like Reef, Hurley, Volcom, Sanuk, Oakley, Billabong, etc. They have toys and beach gear for little ones. Boogie boards, SUPs, skateboards, and even Elvis towels! Did you hear me, Elvis people!! Some shirts were on sale so that is where I headed. One was size "S" but looked big, so I asked if it was a men's small. The guy looked at me and said "a small? A small would never fit you" Rude and uncalled for, definitely does not know what customer service is. I will never go back and neither will any of my friends. I have a love hate relationship with this store. They offer everything you need for your trip to the beach from clothes, shoes, sand toys, chairs, swimsuit and all the Chinese junk you could ever want. I like that they do offer name brands like Hurley, coasta, reef, rainbows, Huk etc. That being said the management could be nicer. We have come for many years and find the gentleman behind the counter to very unfriendly and rude. read more

We were in the store today with a large group. One of the kids wanted items out of her price range for friend gifts. The woman at the register was so kind and showed her several items in her price range and made great suggestions. She even gave her a gift because she was upset about not getting what she wanted (kids right?). Great experience, we will definitely be back. read more

This place has exactly what you'd expect a big beach store chain to offer: some nice quality items, mostly cheaply made items that are overpriced and fall apart within 3 days. They offer everything you could possibly need at the beach, true. But be aware that they offer these poorly made items at a steep price, and don't forget to tack on the convenience fee that will be charged to your card without your knowledge. The man that runs this joint is as shady as they come & is extremely standoffish & rude. The women that work there are a little more pleasant, but hardly. Don't get me started on how they abuse the hermit crabs for sale, most of them in there are dead... All in all, if you're in a pinch for some common beach items, this place *will* likely have what you're looking for, but at a steeper price, lower-quality, and you'll have to pay extra for using a card, all the while having to put up with the owner's abhorrent attitude. I'd recommend checking out Revolution Skate instead, it's just across the street, or even the shops on the island. 1.5 stars, do not recommend. read more

Absolutely horrid customer service! This place just lost 2 families worth of business. We put our things down and walked right out. My sister in law was trying on flip flops and was very rudely spoken to while doing so, the woman told her to stop touching and put them back! My son had a toy he was planning to buy and some older man decided it was appropriate to YELL at my 12 year old autistic child for playing with the toy we were planning to buy for him. We put the toys and clothes back and walked out. Very sad the behavior these employees exhibit!! read more

A great establishment here in the Holden Beach area! You gotta stop here. The air conditioning is the best I have ever felt. It smacks you in the face harder than the bully in the school of hard knocks. Unique Knick knacks, plentiful merchandise and even little model cars! Not super surprising they are at 2.5 stars. This was the first stop on our list because my older 2 girls had gotten great bathing suits there 4 years ago. We walked in quickly and found what we wanted in regards to bathing suits. We grabbed a few sizes and went to try them on only to find fitting rooms locked. Walked to the front to ask for a key or assistance ( 2 associates outside smoking but we did find one hidden in a corner) For access and we were told "oh there is one open". Thinking we had missed it we said "oh ok, we must have missed that one" and walked to the back (associate claims she told us there would be someone to help us in a minute but she did not) Got back there yet again and tried them all again. at this point my 10 year old Just wanted to try on a few suits for sizes so I suggested she just "shimmy under the door" to speed up the process rather than once again asking for help (which we had done). So she did she tried on 2 swimsuits when finally someone waltzed back with a "did you need help" where I jokingly said "hahaha, no. She just shimmied under the door. Hope that's okay". Where I was met with "not really but whatever". Obviously rude but whatever. I did let her know we had sought out help with no success and had taken matters into our own hands. Also there seemed to be 5 total customers in the store (3 of them being my girls and me). We move on as my 10 year old works towards a good fit, my 15 year old has a few items, my 13 year old has a few items and I'm shopping for a pair of swim trunks for my 8 year old boy and some suits for his twin sister. At this point I'm sure we are nearing $200 worth of merchandise. We remained close so I could approve my 10 year olds Suit, i ask the associate who now wants to help us if she had a particular pattern of boys suits which I got a super helpful "u dunno". That's fine, I put It back so we can try a different store tomorrow annoyed with the cruddy service but it's whatever I managed multiple tourist shops back in college (though I would have on the spot termed anyone who even remotely resembled the cruddy service we encountered). My 10 yo finds the suit and as we are walking up to her to confirm she's good hear the"manager" (though everyone knows no true manager works at 9 pm on a Friday night) tell the associate "we can and should call the police on anyone going under the dressing room door" as we are standing right there. I will own that my 15 year old girls got snotty (though deserved after the shitty service so far) but in over 15 years of managing a retail store (as a qualified manager not just the oldest person willing to work there) and an additional 10 years in customer service and retail management in the contact center industry I was horrified by the way we were spoken to. She told us that we could leave or "be escorted out by police". I confirmed there is no "breaking an entry" law for dressing rooms (imagine our surprise). She treated us like trash where even if she wouldn't have asked us to leave I would not have given them a cent. Even after saying "hey the kid you are talking trash to is 15" she told me because I (the parent) was there she could talk to MY child however she wanted to. We even went across the street after leaving our merchandise, to Beach Life. Where a super sweet girl was so apologetic. Said it happens all the time and tried to find the owners info for us. We were an easy tourist sale. A bathing suit, some tshirts, a few necklaces would have been a couple hundred bucks sale for them, we were instead treated like crap due to an under qualified "manager" and her minions. I know retail, customer service and sales quotas and know what happened to us was crappy. Had a "manager" actually been doing her job from the beginning there would have been someone staffed at the dressing rooms. A lack of management and planning should not be an issue for customer. I'm sorry the "manager" is under qualified with appropriately staffing her store but that is not my problem as a consumer. This location is a sorry excuse for service. read more

Came in on Black Friday (by chance) in town for family weekend with no beach chairs. Happily discovered EVERYTHING 50% off!! (except Costa sunglasses). Got crystal Rainbow flips 50% off, Raybans 50% off, etc. etc. Yes, we did get the beach chairs, which funnily enough, we did not use and returned later in the day with additional family to do more shopping. The owners took back the unused chairs with no argument for store credit which we had no problem spending! Just fyi, we went into the Wings or Eagles (whatever) just next door - almost nothing in the store, prices twice the price (no Black Friday there - their loss!!) Will go back. read more

The manager and sales associate were EXTREMELY rude! I wanted to make an exchange on a pair of $60 RVCA swim trunks my husband purchased that had a tear in them, I called over the phone to ask if they would make an exchange the associate asks me to hang on so that I can speak with the manager, he wouldn't even get on the phone to speak with me, long story short the sales associate comes back on and in the most bitchy tone ever says NO, It's a used product. They won't be getting our business anymore. read more

This store has a large variety of items. Unfortunately the bald guy that claims to be the owner is a jerk. First he told my wife to get out of his way because he was trying to work. Then when we went to the register to pay for the shirts we picked out he became frustrated because my daughter hadn't made it up there. He said come on, I've got things to do. He continued with he was busy and didn't have time to stand around. He said he was by himself and he had to use the bathroom. I offered that he should try taking a customer service class and did he want me to spend my money with him or go somewhere else. He started to tell me his issues again and I said ring it up so I can get the he'll out of here and you can go to the bathroom. The beach store next to the Food Lion has lower prices for the same shirt. They just didn't have the size we needed read more

I wish I could give this a Zero rating. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Rude and disrespectful. The management should work on training the staff in customer service. The woman was even rude to my child! Unacceptable! Way over-priced for the limited selection in kids wear, and compared to the swimsuit shops across the bridge. I will never walk in there again.
