This truck was selling pizza at my kids school event last night, Pepperoni pizza was listed around $26. I gave the man my credit card, he gives me my pizza without a receipt. I checked my bank account to see how much it was and they charged me $35. I went back to the man and asked how a $26 pizza turned into a $35 charge, he told me it's because of tax and fees. $9 worth of tax and fees? He comes back and shows me the receipt and it came out to $29, I think this guy added a 15% tip without telling me. By reading other reviews I think he does this to a lot people. Had pizza from this truck at Comic Con Revolution yesterday and it was delicious. One of the best pizzas we've ever had. That said... what a scam they are running! There were no prices listed and when I was handed the swipe machine to choose a tip, I couldn't see the total. I said "I'm not sure how much I'm agreeing to here" and clicked the 18% tip option. The guy (owner) took it back, started thanking me for the tip and changed the subject. I didn't think much of it until I got home and saw $95.57 charged to my card. Pretty good but also a little pricey. Flames was parked outside a brewery we were hanging out at that did not serve food so we were definitely a captive audience. However beer and pizza is one of those perfect pairings for me. The menu had 12 pizza listed but I'm pretty sure you can customize as well. Out of the 12 offered we ordered 6 and most were pretty good. The crust had a good flavor and chew but was a tad too soft for my liking. So I thought the pies could have been baked a little longer. My favorite pizza was the prosciutto. The combination of saltiness from the prosciutto, slight bitterness from the arugula, and savoriness from the various cheeses was awesome. My least favorite was the BBQ chicken. I'm typically a fan of BBQ chicken pizza but the sauce was too sweet and too much of it so it covered all the ingredients and made the pizza taste very one note. Overall high quality pizzas and especially out of a food truck. I wouldn't specifically seek it out but if it's in my vicinity I wouldn't hesitate to order. read more
