I have pushed my table to only drink tap water because it was served by the waitress and we can't afford to get sick so far away from home. We traveled to Australia from USA to get married in a week and I can't afford any of my close family to get sick.

At 81 degrees Fahrenheit I chose to eat indoors vs outside on the patio. They had a DJ in earlier, got to hear a few sings before she finished for the night. Seated immediately by host and given a menu. Server came by within a few minutes to take my order. Ordered the salted caramel martini and the Craftsman pizza on a gluten free base. Drink came out within 4 minutes but at only 2/3 full vs to the rim or close to the rim. Salted caramel martini is tasty. So what sweet but not cloyingly. Pizza came out about 8 minutes later. That should have been my first clue. Top seems cooked but base was spongy. I considered asking them to cook it longer but never saw my server again except when she took and delivered orders to the tables near me. Hardly any toppings and the tender potato slices were raw. Bummer because I was excited and looking forward to the pizza as we have similar one at a pizza place near me but they can't do a gluten free crust. I would have order a second, even a third martini but Katherine never came to check on me. Never asked how my food was or if I wanted another drink. I ate half my pizza and sat for 30 minutes without seeing Katherine again before I flagged another employee down to ask for a takeaway box. To pay, you go up to the bar. Maybe it's a good thing that my server never checked on me because my tab was only $57.50 - $.50 when you use a credit card to pay even though they are cashless. You can avoid the fee if you pay by debt. Had she checked on me I would have ordered another martini. So instead of a bill of $80, she saved me $23. Would I come back again? Not sure. East location to find. The other employees were on top of it. So maybe Katherine was having a bad day or ... but I got shorted on my $$ drink and the gluten free pizza wasn't cooked enough.

Took us a while to figure out where we were and how to get there. Actually not hard at all. We arrived and it was very crowded. Luckily we got a seat in the corner by a window close to the action(the kitchen where the pizzas were cooked). A few slices of focaccia were served with olive oil prior to our pizza and its was wonderful. Then the main event arrived and it was beautiful. And it tasted equally as great. The sausage pizza with arugula. It was awesome. Might want to make a reservation for this great place. Its is very popular. Highly recommend the sausage pizza.

This is what you'd call a fast casual pizza place. For the uninitiated (these are a big thing where…read moreI'm from but this is the first I've seen in Australia), this is a restaurant where your dish is composed on an assembly line in front of you, adding ingredients as you select. This one offered some decent options, including a sourdough crust in two different sizes, an okay selection of vegetables, and some nice sauces and finishes. They offer nice drinks, gelato, and you can do a salad instead of a pizza. The pizza is one price for whatever toppings you want. On the macro level, I liked it okay. However, this location did a terrible job of actually executing the concept. For starters, the music volume was more appropriate for a club than a restaurant, and this posed a significant issue seeing as how one has to be able to intelligibly communicate back and forth about topping choices. For another, the staff seemed to have no idea what the choices were or how to do some simple things like add fennel seeds or ground pepper (mind you, I'm not saying it's their fault; they should be trained better, not disciplined). And their menu, while not bad, still could use a bit of an upgrade; they didn't seem to have the pine nuts their website promised, and could use some more vegetable options, particularly towards the protein side (have you tried chickpeas Fratelli? Trust me, it's a winner). I'm writing this as someone who knows what a well-run fast casual place looks like. I'm not expecting the world here, but they need to get their act together. The pizza certainly wasn't bad, and I'd be happy to return (or perhaps try one of their more established Sydney locations) in the hopes that they can do better.

I decided a spot of cider was in order and wandered on in, oblivious, of course, to the fact that there was a huge chocolate stain on my blouse. My little demon of a granddaughter spilled her chocolate ice cream all over my Countach, and some of it got onto my pants. An embarrassing situation was averted as the staff at Verve were very welcoming and understanding, although there was a little confusion at first when they assumed it was a poo stain. But after some quick clarification and a taste test on my part the confusion was quickly cleared up. Thanks to all the staff at Verve for being so understanding, and for serving the best damn cider this side of Cidertown!

Before popping into the hotel I was hoping to get my carb overload done right and re-energize from the depleted energy tanks. After a quick search, I found this place and walked over to it and loved it more when I realized it had a low key atmosphere starting from the walk down into the main dining hall. This place is simple, fast, and straightforward with its menu offerings as they offers pastas, pizzas, etc along with a selection of beers/ciders while offering a hipster vibe After perusing, ordered the linguine with meatballs and the parpadelle with ragu. Ordered a few beers as well which were tasty. This place does get busy during lunch time with what seems to be office workers in the CBD and it brought the atmosphere to be lively. The pastas were out in a flash and they do not skimp on portions or protein here. I feel most places in the states only offers 3 meatballs but they went all out and doubled it and the parpadelle was no joke as well. The food here was solid and while the tomato base was a bit strong, the food itself was delish. The pasta was cooked well and basically both plates were completely gone by the end of the meal. This spot is solid and offers exactly what you are looking for in a low key atmosphere just serving up good quick eats.

I ordered the Italiano pizza - tomato base, salami, olives, sliced tomato, cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic over the top. For a $10 lunch, I was pretty satisfied. Naturally, I felt the need to sample its dinner menu and have a go of this coffee while I was at it. I got a flat white, and there wasn't enough depth in that coffee cup to satisfy the enthusiasm and thoroughly unexpected love I had for that coffee. Hands down one of the very best coffees I have ever tasted. Ever. The salads I'm not too fussed on, but their chips are seasoned with the most delicious herbs and served with a wonderful sauce that is out of this world. Of a night time the place lights up with colourful personalities and colourful lights alike, and the counter itself reminds me of the board game Jenga, with pieces of wood sticking out at all angles in a surprisingly stylish way. You can get a Stella Rossa card to rack up points for your loyalty, and I'm told they are quite accommodating during a work function. Not only this, the staff there were exceedingly pleasant and I actually still can't get over how ridiculously amazing the coffee was.
