I visited in September 2019 while on an Arizona (Grand Canyon) trip with my friend. We stayed in…read morethe city of Flagstaff so on a Friday after breakfast, we took an hour to explore downtown Flagstaff. My friend Melanie wanted to look for small gems (or Crystals?) for her boyfriend so we stopped into the store. INSIDE - this is a cool store with all sorts of ornament looking things. They sell pottery, jewelry, natural hair and skin products, carvings, herbs, spices, and tea. My friend bought a small elephant shaped stone thing for her boyfriend. I don't know the exact name for it but it looked cool. I ended up buying a small packet of loose leaf ginger tea with a tea sifter. The tea didn't taste good and it wasn't as strong as I would have liked. I love that the big paintings and stone carvings are made by local artists. SERVICE - Service was warm and pleasant. The young man who helped us while inside was nice. If you're a tourist visiting Flagstaff and you are looking for a unique store, then I recommend Winter Sun Trading. **** - 166 total reviews in 2019 - 375 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 29 December 2019

So, my daughter and I are driving through Flagstaff while on a mini-vacation, and all of the sudden…read moreI hear her say "OMG...we have to go to that store!" Of course, she was referring to Crystal Magic, in downtown Flagstaff (Arizona), on the corner of San Francisco Street and Route 66. Admittedly, I was not interested in coming here. But, I could tell that coming here would really make my daughter happy, so in we went. And, as disinterested as I was in coming here, I actually enjoyed looking around this store with my daughter. I think most of the people who come here do so because they believe in feelings or energy that emanates from objects, like rocks. To me, this sounds silly; but having the scientific mind that I do, I did get a lot of enjoyment out of the geological beauty of the items for sale here. Just imagining the incredible physical and chemical processes that produced these beautiful earth-made objects amazes me, along with how beautiful they can be. Looking around in this store was a real treat. It is not only incredibly well organized, but there is also something beautiful to look at in every direction. The owners here must have over a million dollars worth of items for sale here, all packed within this store. They obviously sell several types of precious crystals in multiple forms, but they also sell incense, candles, books, journals, wind chimes, and several other items. I was also pleased with the staff here, who were friendly and professional during my visit. If you're even a little interested in these types of things, Crystal Magic is a great place to shop. You should definitely check this store out if you're in the area. But if you do like the types of things sold here, and you do come inside, be prepared to drop some serious cash. They have a lot of great items for sale.

I enjoyed the many Buddha figurines and paintings they had. This is a large store, so you can pretty much find a little bit of everything, including a big selection of albums. So why only three stars? The prices! They had a Route 66 centennial sign for $19.95 that I recently purchased elsewhere for $8.95. They were selling Route 66 Centennial Danzeisen Dairy bottles for $14.95 and $19.95 that I recently purchased at the grocery store with milk or half-and-half in them for $4.49 and $4.99. A great place to stop in and just check out the variety of items, but definitely a tourist trap!
