We had Daan (captain studying to be a doctor), Charly & Noa on our tour. All were friendly. We were staying in the area near the Anne Frank house and this was easy to get to. Easy to get on a tour as well. Drinks are not included but I like that as you pay for what you use. I like that there were only about 20 people on our boat. We learned a few things. I wish maybe a bit more history but I am a nerd. We spent a bit of time learning where everyone on the boat was from. A good time. They have blankets if cold. They even have umbrellas if needed. Great tour with a great team! Caroline, Stijn & Marcela were laid back, fun, and knowledgeable about the area. The tour showed us much more of the beautiful city than we were otherwise able to see in our short 3 day stay there. Drinks were offered (both alcoholic and non). Our 11-year-old enjoyed the tour as much as we did, which is NOT a given at her age! The boat was a nice, smallish, open air boat, comfortably outfitted with plenty of cushions. The oldest thing I've ever been in, we sat backs to the water, facing others, nowhere to put our stuff or our arms and we were stepped on by staff as they offered drinks.. they offered $$ cheep wine and cheese too, which we didn't choose. We had been wanting to do a canal tour, and there are plenty to choose from near Centraal Station. However, those tourboats all have glass and/or wooden coverings, and we wanted something more open-top in order to get clear views. Plus, those boats are large and we didn't want to feel like herded cattle. Luckily, on the morning that we visited the Anne Frank House, we spotted the Flagship boats docked directly across the street. We had actually seen the boats traveling down the canals the previous day, and what caught our attention were the liquor bottles and beer tub inside the boat itself. We thought, "what a cute, fun concept." Running into it again just meant that fate had already laid out plans for us. Pros: conveniently located across from the Anne Frank House. Only 15 Euros per person. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase on-board. Fun, comical, and knowledgeable crew (Joy and Capt. Chriss were great!). Open top, so no obstructed views! Small, intimate group on every tour. Pay at the end of the tour, so feel free to order as many drinks as you desire. Cons: currently only accepts credit cards (which wasn't a con for us, but could potentially be for others) Would highly recommend this tour to everyone! On june 10 we requested a dinner canal cruise with flagship for about 25 people, luxury, bathroom for about 3hours. Instead we got a boat, barely large enough to accommodate us all, no bathroom, food was on board, but could not be prepared because the bbq could not be used. Instead we picked up some pizzas! The trip was reduced to one hour because of the circumstances, the host at her expense took us all out for dinner. This group from LA, Canada and Amsterdam left in disbelief that the host paid thousand's of dollars and this was what we received! Disgraceful and as a Dutch person an embarrassment! read more

We had such a blast with Flagship Amsterdam! After checking out Anne Frank's House (a must-see), we decided to tour the city with what looked to a be a smaller, more intimate (and more fun - hello they have a bar on the boat) tour company than the big ones cruising down the canals. Our Captains/Guides Hans and Valerie were 1) super friendly 2) fun! 3) very knowledgable about the city and had interesting factoids. PS Valerie makes a great drink! Read about the easy going nature of this boat cruise. I'm glad we did it. The wait for the boat was very short. It looks like they have them coming every 15 minutes or so. Our captain/hostess, Lo and Bien were terrific. We had a group of guys that were on the tour that were on a bachelor party. Lo and Bien worked well with a very diverse group of people. But I have to go out and say we were very pleased with our tour using a new company called Flagship. Tom and Emily were young and entertaining, although the drinks were a little pricey they were very good, and you cannot beat the price of €15 for a one hour cruise. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Our hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, knowledgable, funny, and they made our canal ride truly spectacular!! We were served with delicious dutch cheese and wine as we explored the canals through Amsterdam. The boat was beautiful and the open-windows with a shaded roof was perfect on the hot day we went. We learned so much about the history of Amsterdam (through our lovely host Rick) and were able to see many of the famous landmarks of the city. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone (including families, couples, and friends) -- it truly was the best part of my three week trip to Europe and worth every penny. Great little one hour cruise through the canals. My wife and I learned a lot about the history of Amsterdam. The price is great, costing Only 16 euros a person. The Captain and crew were very friendly too. I just have one small criticism. My wife and I ordered drinks costing us 17 euros. We couldn't taste the alcohol at all in our mixed drinks. This place was so impressive. We had tickets for Anne Frank and wanted to do a boat ride before. We checking into companies all along the canal walking up and they either didn't take private passengers or they were booked up for hours in advance, or they only had boats that left every 30, 45, or 60 minutes. So we just kept walking toward Anne Frank house hoping to find a place. This was located just outside of Anne Frank. The staff wore bright orange shirts so were easy to spot. They had boats every 15 minutes so we were able to get on in time to take an hour cruise and return just in time for our Anne Frank ticket time. Staff was friendly and fun. Lots of drink options on board, including beer and liquor at affordable prices. The information they gave was interesting. We were a party of 7 with 3 kids 7 and under. We were able to fold out stroller and bring it on. Kids tickets were less than adults and I think the youngest were free. You can buy tickets for a time slot ahead of time. They ask for those individuals to board first then any walk-ups. read more

Avoid this cruise company - they ruined our trip! We bought tickets for the cheese and wine cruise. Their staff instructed us to wait for the boat outside Anne Frank's House, so we did. 10 minutes before the boat was due to depart, we noticed it was nowhere to be seen. So we asked a staff member nearby who told us that the boat actually left from somewhere else! We sprinted to get to the boat, and arrived 5 minutes before it was due to depart, however the boat had already left!! It left early despite seeing that there were 2 more ticket holders due to arrive! Due to our limited time in Amsterdam, this was the only opportunity we had to do a canal cruise and it was something we'd been looking forward to for a very long time. The staff couldn't do much but say sorry and refund our ticket. They agreed that it was bad the boat left early and we were told the wrong embarkation point, but that doesn't make it OK. This company is unreliable, unprofessional and clearly disorganised. There are plenty of other cruise companies that are way better. read more

This was a horrible experience from start to finish. I wanted to pay by credit card and was pushed into cash. Now I know why. The boat was full and had an apprentice captain. We almost hit another boat on the way out and had to have another experienced crewman take the helm when the apprentice could not maneuver the boat.It was very unnerving. You could not hear the woman speaking so you had no idea of what you were seeing. They actually had the nerve to ask for tips at the end of the trip. She asked me if I had a good time and I said no.
