A brass nameplate was included in the contract at the time of purchase. I have been attempting to get a proof of the nameplate that was picked out by my mother so I could sign off on it and Oakland would be able to order and install it. The ashes were placed in March 2026 and as of this writing (5/19/26) I am still waiting. I had an appointment to meet with the management but it was cancelled. I offered my email and asked that the proof be emailed, so I could approve it. It was never sent and all attempts to contact Oakland have gone unanswered. They simply won't respond, even though I can see that messages have been read. The whole point of preplanning and prepaying a funeral is to ensure that the deceased person/s will have their wishes carried out and to help ease the family during a difficult time. This is why my mother took the time to take care of this for me, yet here I am having to hound the cemetery over a marker meant to memorialize their final resting place, which I might add again was BOUGHT and PAID for in 2005. I've read other complaints, communication seems to be a ongoing problem. If you're reading this and have prepaid your service, I urge you to find your records, your family is going to need them.
