I forgot I put 2 Lindor truffles in my pocket. I called my vet in Arizona. They weren't terribly concerned, but my dog's breathing was getting heavier and he was whining. I stopped at the Visitor Center and did a Yelp search. Valley West was close and had great reviews. They were so kind to have a vet tech take a quick look, listened to his heart, checked his breathing and seemed quite confident that the amount of chocolate he ingested wasn't of concern. They did lete know he might have runny stool, but they thought that was a remote possibility. We were a walk-in visit. The kindness from everyone here was far above and beyond. Rather than reach out to resolve it, they sent the amount owed to a collection agency over a year later. If they would have sent a bill or called we would have paid it and again they were the one who missed the charge. When I called them to inquire about it they were incredibly rude. I always brought my dog back home for routine vet visits because of this places prices. No where else compares to the down to earth people here. The Dr. isnt going to act like your best friend but he will for sure take care of your pet and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. My real opinion of this place changed when my elderly dog needed a teeth cleaning and 2 teeth pulled. The vet I had established care with in Morgantown (for emergencies and nail trimmings) quoted me almost $2,000 for this. I quickly called Pocatalico to get a quote and it was so much cheaper. I made my dog an appointment and reworked my school schedule just to drive the 3 hours for my dog to be seen here instead of Morgantown. What Morgantown wanted to charge me $2,000 for cost me $177 at Pocatalico. Morgantown quoted me $700 for anesthesia for the cleaning. Pocatalico's $177 included all the anesthesia, antibiotics, fluids, and the procedure. Plus the true love and caring of the staff. I will always bring my dogs here for routine care and planned procedures no matter where I move to. It is 100% worth the drive to me. Growing up and having this vet set my standards for other vets quickly made me realize what a blessing they are to the community. I will never take my business elsewhere if I can help it.

I had just spent a whole lot of money on the Christmas holiday and had $664 left to spare for my cat to receive help. As I explained to Dr Leadman that I would be paid in a week from work again, if there were anything else past the 664 I was able to pay that day then I would gladly pay the remainder of the bill in a week. I was immediately shot down and they made sure the bill came out to exactly $664. Well then a front desk staff member called me to ask if my cat was any better and I told her he was not. She said she would note that on my chart for Dr Leadman but she knew that I had said that I didn't get paid for a week. Well would you believe that down to the exact day that following week. DR LEADMAN calls and leaves a voicemail to check in and see how things are going and if my cat wasn't doing any better then "I may want to bring him back in for another exam and maybe some more x-rays." I would have more respect for that voicemail had she came right out and just said "We know you got your paycheck today, so come back in and we can see what amount you are willing to waste on another trip here and send you home with a cat that is still sick. BRING MONEY!!!" Like I said at the beginning of this review, most of the veterinary care that my pets received here was great, Dr. Dascolli was amazing and several other experiences there were also fine, but to bleed anyone down to the exact dollar amount they tell you they have to spare AND send them and their pet home still sick and suffering, THEN call back "to check in" the day that you know there is more money that you can possibly rip them off for? That's despicable and enough for me to never return there again for any reason. Lesson learned!

Marshall our rescue boy was sent to James for in-boarding training to become my service dog…read more Throughout Marshall's training James kept us informed via messages, photos and with videos of Marshall's training in progress. Marshall became very fond of James and his colleagues and it gave us a sense of ease that Marshall was enjoying his training and new work. James even took Marshall home with him and Out into public places like red restaurants and in stores etc. Marshall is now a very confident and well trained service dog accompanying me to many hospitals whilst I undergo hours of treatments, scans and office visits. I absolutely recommend James and his positive training methods whether it's obedience training or other training. I have included some photos/video of Marshall at hospital and in the grocery store. He came to our house and worked with several of us on training our pit/Rhodesian ridgeback mix, Scrappy-Doo. James gave us the tools we need to continue working with scrappy everyday. Scrappy has come a long way and so have we in the way that we teach him. We are very happy with the training we received and would highly recommend to others.
