Walked in today with a coworker and I couldn't find it on the rack. *tears of sadness* I browse the sale rack as I morn in silence. My coworker said "is this it". A light from heaven shown down with all it's glory as she held up my beloved chevron black and white maxi skirt. "YES" and I snatched it. Thank the good Lord it was a large. I would have probably bought it anyway if it were a small and squeezed my thick'um thighs in it. (Don't judge...you know you've done that before). Here's where I get irritated. I'm happy and I asked the sales girl to hold it for me as I need to go back and get my wallet. They do have HUGE, private, walk-in closets though (only 3?)...so plenty of privacy. One other thing I didn't like was that on my last visit, they were playing Country-Western music...which I didn't think fit the look and style of the store at all (unless maybe it's moving in that direction?). Before that, they always played cool, more metro type music. So guess I don't love EVERYTHING about this boutique...but no matter, this is a fun, eclectic boutique...with lots of relaxed, Bohemian styles (very Californian?), which I tend to wear often. I used to work at a full line Nordstrom years ago, so I know quality when I see it. That's why I love the Rack because you can always expect good brands at better prices than you'd find at the full line store. To some people, Nordstrom Rack still feels a little pricey for a discount store, but you really have to compare it to the original full line price tags. I live in the NoDa area, and I will say this location was a bit farther out than I expected, about 25 minutes from my house. I was honestly surprised that there isn't a Nordstrom Rack closer to the city. This one is more on the outskirts, which is fine, but it does make quick trips or exchanges a little less convenient. Yes, you can return items at the full line Nordstrom, but sometimes you just want to browse and see what's new. Parking here was easy, and the store itself was clean and well organized. Coming from Houston and then Florida, I wasn't used to seeing so many coats in stock, so that actually caught my attention. They had a big winter selection, and I ended up leaving with a super cute trench coat, a puffer jacket, and a couple of other cold weather pieces since I know Charlotte winters are going to be colder. The staff was about as friendly as you'd expect at a Nordstrom Rack, but they moved quickly, and the checkout line wasn't long. They left me alone to shop on my own, but they were there to answer questions and help in any way. I visited during the summer when some items were on sale.
