Well - here I am - and the food was amazing!…read more I stopped after a downtown appointment and this is just down the street from Cleveland Clinic. I had the lawyer sandwich - which they advertise as one of their classic sandwiches. It's grilled pastrami and corned beef with Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing and slaw! It was super! This is THE BEST DELI SANDWICH IVE HAD IN YEARS - maybe ever!!! They made it hot and fresh to order and I added a piece of carrot cake, washed it down with a Brown's soda, enjoyed the BIG DILL!!! And a bag of bbq chips. The price was good and the service was friendly and fast. The place was clean and they had lots of choices to take home food for the family or for a personal meal like I did.

Sandwich was tasty but too rich for my blood, and not $20 tasty!…read more Man, I don't know how you all do it, $20 bucks for a sandwich! No pop! No side! I just can't do it! That's a lot of money!! When I got the bag it felt pretty light for $20! I can't believe in good conscience a few slices of meat and some bread for a 29 dollar bill! Plus no visible menu prices for sandwiches in the whole place. I had to ask. He had the prices that he could see on his side. Don't I as the customer need to know what the price is and what I'm getting for it?! -Just buy a car off the lot and don't know what it cost or the specs?!...Shrug...That seemed weird to me and off putting to me. I at least justify a $20 corn beef from Slyman's a few times a year. I literally can get four meals from their larger sandwich. Have some chips or potato salad and I can and do stretch it out. The sandwich at Vienna's was only enough for one meal. Been wanting to go for a while now. Went! But don't believe I'll go back due to the price. I just can't do it! America is just too expensive anymore!!

I was reminded about Rudy's by my son who gets a lot of meat here for smoking in his smoker. I've been by twice and the first time was just so so. My problem was that I didn't order ahead.! The great thing about this place is they are busy! It's a popular place! There are guys in the back butchering and cutting up meat! It is pretty cool to watch! This is truly a homey place and I can see why my mom visited for her meat needs and she ordered ahead! When you walk in, you can tell there are a lot of regulars. People take numbers, get their meats, have conversations. A nice and welcoming vibe. I ordered an Easter Ham from David. He was great in explaining the difference between bone in, boneless and cooking differences. I did a boneless sliced ham and it was perfect for my own glaze. Everyone enjoyed and the ham itself was good. Not salty or fatty. I will definitely be back and if there is something specific I want, I will call ahead. They are really great and I highly recommend!

The food overall was really good--not quite exceptional, but definitely worth a visit. I'm still trying to pinpoint what sets Farmer's Rail apart from other restaurants in a similar category.
