Spectrum Store = Spirit Airlines experience…read more The problem isn't frontline staff or supervisors. Frontline staff consistently provide polite, professional customer service to the best of their ability. They are constrained by lousy processes dictated by poor upper management decisions enabled by an ivory tower management structure. I assume it won't matter to leave a review, but I feel that feedback is a gift, so here it goes. My experience was a 1 hour wait to simply drop off an old router after paying for an Internet service upgrade. Before you assume I'm a dummy for not using mail or booking an appointment, hear me out. PROBLEM: I had the router boxed up in my car and was near the store, so thought it could be a quick stop. It was not quick because Spectrum does not triage and prioritize. SOLUTION: If Spectrum provided a drop box or priority equipment return desk, it would be quick and easy. PROBLEM: Instead, I logged in at the tablet and showed up as 4th in line. A manager was touching base with everyone on the floor about being short staffed. They were super professional, but they had zero power to help because upper management doesn't empower them to log into a terminal. SOLUTION 1: Allow managers to log into a terminal to clear the queue of simple transactions like equipment returns. SOLUTION 2: increase pay and benefits for store staff to attract more staff to avoid shortages. Why did I wait an hour in store instead of leaving and using a UPS store across town? Because the queue display showed just a few folks ahead of me. I reasoned that a 15 minute drive to wait in another line at UPS wasn't worth it, so I waited. PROBLEM: The problem was that folks who had already made an appointment didn't show up on the display, so I had no way to estimate the actual time to wait. When I was next up, 30 minutes into waiting, I got preempted by another unannounced appointment which turned out to be a new mobile phone customer, which took 30 minutes to complete. I had no way to know that until I was 45 minutes into waiting. SOLUTION: include appointments in the waiting queue and add estimated wait time to the display and/or text alerts. There you go, Spectrum upper management. Problems and solutions provided by a customer who recently paid to upgrade service and now feels so disrespected that if there was another decent option, I would switch in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, we exist in what is effectively a monopoly market for wired Internet service. The only thing that will really fix this terrible service is regulation because ISP's that operate as de facto monopolies have zero motivation to change.

If I could give zero stars I would. absolutely the worst experience in my life. Called before I…read moremoved from out of state to set up internet, advised them the home was brand new and needed to have the service brought down the pole to my house. They sent out a tech, instead of someone who could run the wire, to tell me we needed service brought to the house first. They set up for their construction team to come out, but that would take over 5 weeks, I'd already waited 2 weeks. I follow up constantly to find out status, finally they approve it. Construction team comes to house and DOES NOT RUN IT TO MY HOUSE, even though they was red spray paint down the drive telling them where to run the wire AND they had a trencher. I called concerned that they didn't run it to my house to be given attitude by them and they told me the job was complete. They transfer me to dispatch to try to push me out another 2+ weeks, when I explain that is unacceptable , the dispatcher suddenly has a way to help me get someone in 2 days. The tech guy comes out to tell me what I already knew, I couldn't get service because the construction team failed to do their job. I already had to drive out of state by this point to get internet at family's house because I work from home. Came back to Polson because school started and had to rent an Airbnb for nearly $800 for the week thinking I'd have service by the end of that week. But they failed and their ONLY answer was they could have them back out over a week later. At this point I was over $1000 out of pocket from traveling and renting a place and couldn't afford to set up for at least another week at another place with short notice as it would have cost me another $1000 minimum. So I luckily got Starlink and wish I would have just gone there first! No trenching, no construction team, no tech needed. And when I informed them I could have paid for internet service for over a year with how much they pushed me out, they tried to sell me cellphone service! I contacted the BBB and told spectrum they lost mine and my entire family's business for life. The lady, Jessica, in dispatch was rude and the woman who I spoke with in construction was an absolute B!tch!

Warning - 15% restocking charge! This Hamilton, Montana Radio Shack store has the WORST and most verbally abusive CUSTOMER SERVICE I have EVER experienced in my entire life and then some. It's like experiencing someone going through a sudden horrific bipolar episode right in your face!!!! I have been an employee, and a small business owner for 47 years trained in numerous customer service programs and in turn became a Customer Service Trainor on a corporate level, now retired. I offered free constructive feedback on the 15% restocking charge "policy" on the receipt which triggered him into a violent verbal episode resulting in insults to me and my family like I've never heard! He refused to take my item for return with a smirk on his face. I did not say anything but simply left. As I reached the door to leave, he yelled out to take my California attitude with me!!!! Since I am a native Montanan, this was the most insulting thing a person could say, as we natives have truly suffered rudeness from out of staters ruining the peace and gentle respect of our beautiful valley. I should have listened to my gut when he insulted me months ago for inquiring about a product he didn't have. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I have since inquired of others and have heard numerous stories like this. Had I known I would have gotten my item on Amazon.
