Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey Gift Set ($24)
    Dean W.

Five Star Liquor gives FIVE STAR SERVICE! This shop has changed COMPLETELY since my last review... FIVE years ago. There was a change of ownership - and while the previous owners before were always friendly and cordial, they really allowed their store to go downhill. Since the change of ownership, this store has done a complete 360. All the old, rusty shelves were replaced with elegant, black shelves, and the liquor/beer/spirits selection has greatly improved. There are hundreds of different wines, beer, IPAs, and spirits all elegantly placed and competitively priced. There's a great selection of non-alcoholic beverages as well (water, juices, soda) and snacks. Sure, the prices here are maybe one or two dollars higher than Bevmo or Total Wine - but remember the CONVENIENCE you are paying for - you don't need to navigate some massive parking lot, go through endless aisles and wait in long lines - you get a great selection here, shorter or no wait time, personalized service (by the very knowledgeable owner) and the slightly higher cost is definitely worth it. I was able to snag a decent Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey gift set with a branded glass for ($24) at my most recent visit today. They also have Crater Lake Espresso Vodka ($30) - which I don't see in many liquor stores because it's native to the Pacific Northwest - I only knew of it because I was able to try it on a recent Alaska Airlines flight. Of course, no respectable liquor store is complete without a large selection of lottery products. This store is lucky - they've sold in recent years a couple of high-dollar prizes, as proven by the giant "promotional" California Lottery check posters they have displayed - one scratcher sold here had a prize of $750K - so you can imagine this is a popular spot when the jackpots get large. The owner is friendly and always remembers my name, as well as gives great recommendations when I'm looking for a special wine or spirit. Parking is easy - plenty of spots in this smaller strip mall, and if parking ever gets really bad, there is additional parking in the back of the store. Definitely a favorite - at least a monthly stop for me. Five Star Liquor gives FIVE STAR SERVICE!

Closing times are a mere suggestion, they'll close whenever they feel like it instead of sticking to a real schedule.

Yikes. Can't remember the last time I was treated so poorly by ownership. Will look for other stores in the area and not support this one.

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.

If you want Clase Azul they have it, Jinro Soju no sugar, that's in the imported lane, you like Lebron Hennessy, then you gotta press a button to grab a VSOP bottle. The point of this is that they got all the alc you can desire. Basically a candy shop for responsible adults, alright. There be times when I get that Caymus wine bottle too, but they recommend usually something else and cheaper, but I'm okay, thank you though boss. The other day I bought two tequila bottles for my friend's birthday coming up this weekend. If you have a membership, they always give away cool coupons that you can use. Some stuff like $5 or buy three alc and get one free. I like coming here than liquor stores. It's clean and the service here is super friendly. Never a bad time here. Sometimes I'll be here for like an hour from just browsing all the different flavors lol. Come through people!

We were greeted immediately by a friendly man with a headset. I requested the object of my search and he lead us into the depths of the cleanest most well-stocked liquor store I have ever imagined. He was apologetic when they did not stock the Negroni, but luckily they did have all of the ingredients. I located the Campari, they had an amazing selection of gin, and the sweet vermouth was a great price! Needless to say, I had a lovely afternoon. Total wine and more is the place to go for selections, price and service.
