My poor Jetta the was damaged because someone let their dogs run loose near a major highway. Well this was a first for me I had NO idea what to do.. After calming down and googling where to take my car I found texas body shop. When I arrived with the tow truck I'm sure they knew I was about to break (emotionally) they were extremely nice about everything! One guy got me a box to put things in from my car, they offered me a ride to anywhere I needed to go, took care of a window that wouldn't roll back up (it was going to rain), and they were more than happy to answer any questions I had. Well a week later, I hadn't heard from anyone. So I called them and they told me the insurance company did come and they are working out details but they did order parts and said my car might be ready by the following week! Originally it was looking like a month (ordering parts for my car can be a hassle). I know they are being optimistic but it's a huge relief since I'm having to pay for a rental out of pocket :( I thought about waiting to actually see my car before reviewing but their customer service and helpfulness is worthy of a good review! Also I've heard good things from students at WT about them. ** seriously the best body shop! They did an amazing job and were super helpful with all my questions! They detailed my car before I went to get her, even the blue jean stain is almost gone on my white pleather seats. I highly recommend Southwest Body Shop!!! they were having to fix my car after what Street toyota…read moredid to it! They talked me into putting a black wrap on the spoiler and on my roof and other parts of my car. It turned out to be a very cheap wrap. And it looked horrible after a couple years. It took Southwest Body Shop over seven hours for two minutes to take this wrap off my car. When I went back to Street to talk to them about this rap, they told me they would charge me to take it off and would not stand behind it.!!! I would think long and hard before going back to Street toyota to buy a car or anything else! Here are some pictures of the rap before Southwest Body Shop started taking it off? I Googled body shops and Drury came right up, with a bunch of excellent reviews. I called, and spoke with Doug Warren, who assured me they could get my car right in and make it as good as new. Repairs were extensive, and it took almost three weeks, but they did an amazing job!! Doug kept me informed on progress with regular updates and photos, and was a dream to work with. My car looks better than ever - PLUS they even cleaned the INSIDE. If you saw the car after the accident, you wouldn't believe what a great job they did Great attention to detail. Stone brothers was recommended to us and I could not be more grateful that we went there. The owner Chase was so nice and got to our car right away in the morning. He was completely honest with us about the situation and was able to get it fixed for us by the end of the day in order for us to make it home. He made recommendations on where to get some bulbs we needed for my car as well. Amanda who works the front desk was also so kind and helpful. When we thought we were going to have to fly home she was even looking up flights for us. Such a horrible situation but I was blown away by the kindness shown to us at Stone Brothers. Jimmy's rates are quite reasonable and he's fair to deal with…read more I've had my Toyota for a decade now. I've taken it to dealers, chains (Firestone, etc), and independent mechanics. I'll give an example of why Autocraft Inc and the head mechanic Jimmy are so great. Once I had trouble with my car - it was overheating. He suspected the car needed a new waterpump, but he later found it was a problem with the gauge. Despite doing the equivalent of a thousand dollars worth of labor and parts, he only charged for what he would have charged if he was right which was a fraction of the price. I even authorized the extra work expecting to pay more. Jimmy refused to be paid until the car was fixed right. I mean, he could have just said "Hey, the estimate was off, I did a lot of work on your car, I deserve to be paid". That's how a lot of other shops do it. Basically, this guy seems like he is in the mechanic business because he likes to fix cars, he likes people and wants people to trust him and keep coming back. He takes pride in his work and his reputation and that is a hard thing to find these days. If you work downtown, I would recommend leaving your car to have it worked on, then just walk down Polk st to pick it up.
