After getting her car towed to Amarillo and attempting to get it repaired on Sunday to no avail, I turned to Yelp for help. I found a shop with great reviews for helping stranded travelers, especially on weekends. I fired off a message and accidentally turned it into a project which added Bryan's Auto and Body to my message. And it's a good thing because Bryan was the only response I ever got. He said they could definitely get it looked at, but it would be Monday. It didn't take long to see this was as good as it was gonna get. But it got better when, not only were they able to get it looked at on Monday, but were able to get the alternator and flywheel replaced on Monday. Melissa and Bryan were tremendously helpful. I drove up to Amarillo to get my daughter back to Albuquerque and was working with them through Yelp messages, emails and phone calls. I have a great mechanic in DFW that took me years to luck into, but managed to find the same level of service through Yelp in a faraway city through apps and phone calls when I didn't have a clue where to go. Stone brothers was recommended to us and I could not be more grateful that we went there. The owner Chase was so nice and got to our car right away in the morning. He was completely honest with us about the situation and was able to get it fixed for us by the end of the day in order for us to make it home. He made recommendations on where to get some bulbs we needed for my car as well. Amanda who works the front desk was also so kind and helpful. When we thought we were going to have to fly home she was even looking up flights for us. Such a horrible situation but I was blown away by the kindness shown to us at Stone Brothers. Jimmy's rates are quite reasonable and he's fair to deal with…read more I've had my Toyota for a decade now. I've taken it to dealers, chains (Firestone, etc), and independent mechanics. I'll give an example of why Autocraft Inc and the head mechanic Jimmy are so great. Once I had trouble with my car - it was overheating. He suspected the car needed a new waterpump, but he later found it was a problem with the gauge. Despite doing the equivalent of a thousand dollars worth of labor and parts, he only charged for what he would have charged if he was right which was a fraction of the price. I even authorized the extra work expecting to pay more. Jimmy refused to be paid until the car was fixed right. I mean, he could have just said "Hey, the estimate was off, I did a lot of work on your car, I deserve to be paid". That's how a lot of other shops do it. Basically, this guy seems like he is in the mechanic business because he likes to fix cars, he likes people and wants people to trust him and keep coming back. He takes pride in his work and his reputation and that is a hard thing to find these days. If you work downtown, I would recommend leaving your car to have it worked on, then just walk down Polk st to pick it up.

If you want a crappy job that requires numerous return visits to get things repaired properly, this is your place. First, I was told my vehicle would be ready in 3 days & that someone would give me a ride to pick it up. Not when you talk to Dylan - every excuse in the book as to why it's taking another week & that NO one is available to give me a ride now. By the way, don't question Dylan - he's arrogant, derogatory, dismissive, & must not want repeat business because he treats the customer with a condescending, demeaning tone. His body language is very aggressive, to the point it's like he wants to physically fight; thank you, TX, for concealed carry. I have an AWD vehicle, and this place charged me $424 for an alignment. I called 17 different locations, and absolutely none of them said that any type of alignment would be that expensive. I was completely ripped off as Hunter refused to tell me where the alignment was performed. I looked at my vehicle before going in to pay & could immediately see a shoddy job had been done. I have bad eyesight & I immediately saw that the repairs they made were not good - "didn't know you wanted that" was Dylan's response. I could see the poor repairs in the metal, which was then painted over. I love wavy & rippled paint jobs - NOT! Dylan then had five other guys look at the repairs, claiming they couldn't see anything. For the large sum I paid, it's only fair that it be done correctly and timely. Don't tell me 3 days and give me crap that I now have to make you fix, which is going to take more time.
