So the name is somewhat strange, but the sandwiches, potato salad and cole slaw are not strange at all. Paul and his assistant were the caterers at my mother's 100th birthday party held at the All Saints' Episcopal church in Scotch Plains. Paul arrived on time. Immediately he and Lisa started setting up the sandwiches on platters, arranging and labeling all the sandwiches. They also brought a large fruit tray. We had about 60 people and Paul's sandwiches were plenty for this crowd, with about a dozen left over at the end. Lisa was terrific, constantly re-arranging the sandwiches so they looked tidy. She even went throughout the room with a tray of cut pieces of birthday cake and brought drinks to those people sitting down. She was excellent and polite to everyone. I highly recommend Westfield Caterers for your next big party - they had everything under control. The only part that I did not like, is that Paul asked for the entire payment (~$1000) before the party. I thought that was a bit off. I wanted to see how they did before I paid the second half of the fee. In fact, they did fine, and I paid promptly afterwards.

To that end, if you have a problem with either Dan or his staff, I would have to say that the problem is most likely with you. They couldn't be nicer, more courteous and helpful. The appetizers were pre ordered and everybody ordered their dinner from a menu. The staff was friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. I had many appetizers that I will describe below. Antipasto with Pickled Vegetables - This was nicely put together. All of the meats were fresh and appeared to be of good quality. The highlight were the pickled vegetables. I specifically enjoyed the pickled cauliflower, very flavorful. There were also olives present. There was also bread that was seasoned nicely with a crispy outside. Fruit and Cheese Platter - This had fresh fruit such as watermelon, grapes, strawberries, pineapples, and cantaloupe I believe. There was blue cheese, pepperjack, provolone, and brie, I think. I tried several and no complaints. Italian Wings - These wings were breaded and tossed in a plum tomato sauce, with sautéed cherry peppers, and drizzled with basil pesto. These were okay. I did not really taste the pesto or cherry peppers. They essentially tasted like a light chicken parmesan on a bone. Ultimate Buffalo Wings - These wings had buffalo sauce, white wine, garlic, fresh parsley, and red pepper flakes. These were outstanding. There was a nice spicy factor involved here as well as the wings being crispy and large. These were so good, I ordered them for my entrée! Clams Oreganata - There were four large clams to an order I believe. They were solid, plenty of breadcrumbs and filing. I should have added the Buffalo sauce from the wing to make it a little less dry even if a light butter sauce was used. Stuffed Artichokes - This was prepared nicely. They were extremely large and contained breadcrumbs, cheese, and lots of garlic. They were very tasty. Zucchini Flowers - The fried zucchini was stuffed with mozzarella cheese. They were also topped with an aioli sauce. These were not bad. I did not think the aioli was necessary, but I enjoyed the crispiness of zucchini and the mozzarella cheese present. I am sure that was all the food I had anyway. Will I go back? Easily.
