The after-school program run by 5Rings is one of the best my children have been to. So is the March break and Summer camp. The kids are allowed to let their creativity and energy run free. They are then reined in and taught taekwondo with great discipline. The child's opinion to focus on one aspect of taekwondo is respected, but the child is expected to be a good all-rounder too. Athletes are encouraged to participate in tournaments, to understand competitions and competitors from other clubs and locations. Turn around and you'll have the instructors encouraging the children to participate in laser tag nights to have lots and lots of fun. The activities are well balanced, very organized and hits the right note between achieving goals and having fun. The club is headed by Master Bauer who is passionate about his students. He is always observing the students, right from Tiny Tigers to the High Performance team. His students have fun with him. You can see the respect his students have for him. He has built up a good team of instructors and staff who make it all run seamlessly. I have referred 5Rings to parents and will continue to refer this program to other parents. read more

5Rings is the best place to learn TaeKwonDo in the Waterloo and Kitchener area. My sons have been learning taekwondo from Master Bauer for the past 4 years. I have been observing the enormous growth in their confidence and leadership skills in these years. The confidence with which a 7 year old leads the warm up exercises on a test day and how well all athletes, irrespective of their belt level or age follow the designated leader, shows how well the instructors train their athletes. Very good sportsmanship and training. The clubs have athletes who compete internationally and also those with different goals. Master Bauer is on point with his students, teaching with so much passion and motivation. His team of instructors and staff are very welcoming, helpful, friendly, patient, and diciplined. Highly recommended. read more

The Bauer family and their team provide a family-friendly environment for learning TaeKwonDo. All-ages training for fun and fitness. High-level sparring and poomsae (patterns) are also available. Although champions train here, the instructors keep classes friendly. The kids, in particular, enjoy the environment while working up a sweat. The after-school program is particularly nice because they pick your child up right from school. My daughter has gone here for years. Watching her and other students progress in skills and confidence is a testament to their motivation, and Five Rings TaeKwonDo provides a terrific environment for their journey. read more

I took my son in a lot of places but this is the one place he feels so comfortable, and he feels like he belongs here and that is very important to me. All the teachers are amazing. They take their time to make sure all the kids succeed on what they do. Not only the class but the Camp is also amazing as my son attended them. Let's talk about discipline and confidence the kids learn in here is amazing. Thank you for all you do for the kids. read more

Greg Bauer is charged for doing things to a minor in December 2023. He has been actively teaching at this club still. Don't go to a place that doesn't keep your kids safe! Another note: They give out black belts in 3 years which should never happen at a proper martial arts club that cares about teaching the proper martial arts and not be a money grab. Black belts should be on average 7 years of training read more
