When we were there, the house was so beautifully decorated for Christmas, inside and out. We stayed in the East Chamber, a beautiful suite on the 2nd floor. Joe is a self trained chef, and his palette and skills are beyond compare. When we arrived, there was a freshly made chocolate cake with raspberry filling, house made cookies all the time, and other snacks and drinks available all the time. His breakfast is sumptuous and perfectly delicious, with offerings that change every day. He is also very mindful of dietary restrictions and does everything to please his guests. Absolutely everything is made from scratch, from Chorizo to teriyaki sauce, Joe does it all. If you book in advance, he will even do a special dinner on Saturday night. Funnily enough, when we went to the Spa at Quapaw Bath House, they had the SAME EXACT jacuzzi! We coulda stayed in our cabin! Anyway, we were there during the week so there wasn't anyone else staying there and it was ULTRA private. It feels like you are in a cabin in the woods. Wait - YOU ARE! The owners, Arturo & Karen, were sooo nice and even cooked us breakfast one morning, even though breakfast isn't included with our particular room. AWESOME! We spent 3 nights in their lovely home and were treated like family. We had the smallest room, the Nook, which was more than adequate with a sleigh bed and large bathroom with a great view of the garden and gazebo in the back. We had a pot of coffee and cookies early each morning and a large, scrumptious breakfast at 8:30. The house is nestled at the foot of the Hot Springs National Park near the historic district so we were able to walk to town for sightseeing and hiking the trails. My husband Mike and I were in town for a destination wedding at the exquisite Garvon Gardens and just needed a place to stay for a few days. We are more than pleased with our choice to stay at Prospect Place and highly recommend it. Rooms are clean and tastefully decorated with antiques and the porch invites sitting with coffee in the morning. The whole atmosphere is homey and the rescue dogs in the back were a plus to us. Mike and Kelly actually made the B&B a highlight of our trip. We shall hopefully return.
