The food is also consistently delicious and the service is consistently friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is upbeat with Mexican music playing. It has an ambiance that creates a comfortable environment sitting and talking with friends or loved ones while enjoying authentic Mexican food. I've noted some of the low reviews and they generally seem to be posted by people traveling through. I can only say I am not originally from Great Falls. I grew up all over the world. I began eating Tex-Mex as an 8 year old in San Antonio, Texas. If that doesn't form a person's palate for what true Tex-Mex tastes like, then nothing will. La Cocina's kitchen staff knows exactly what they're doing and they do a great job. Sure, it might not be as spicy as one might find in San Antonio, but the spices used are exceptionally flavorful and appropriate, especially for Great Falls clientele, which, after all, is the target customer base. If you're as adventurous as I am and just like eating something super spicy, they provide El Yucateco Chile Habanero sauce right at the table! The food is served piping hot every time. This place deserves 5 star reviews all day long. Writing this review has made me hungry. I'm definitely heading back to La Cocina for lunch today.

Your meal comes with complimentary chips and salsa which tasted fresh and the salsa had a nice kick. I ordered the chicken fajitas which came with all the normal sides. Eveything was bountiful but the chicken was tough and the flavors were flat. After the waitress left our meal, she didn't return. We waited so long we asked someone if they could help us get water and the check. They said they would let our waitress know but she still didn't return for a while. If our waitress would have been available I would have asked for some lime. I think the extra acid would have helped add freshness. Still, I would give the place another try as this could have been an off night. Nextime I would plan for earlier in the day and a different entree. I've heard they are known for their tacos.

She then offered to get new potatoes without bacon just for her to come back and say they're premade. Worthy of 10 stars but the app only allows 5. Tremendous execution of Montana's best wild and farm raised produce. To sum up in one word: Authentic.... Hard to say what is best because everything on the menu is sublime! We heartily recommend the bison, aged beef, trout, and all the seasonal specialties. Ambience is Montana comfort mixed with intimate nuances. Charlie Russell himself would feel at home here! You cannot go wrong coming here for a post-meeting repast, wedding anniversary, first date, or a family reunion! In fact I'd create excuses just to sup here. Wine list is very impressive. If Le Guide du Michelin rated US restaurants, Beef N Bone would earn a star. I'll stop now otherwise I'll start sounding like a down-east tourist on a Costco travel tour. Except for the fact that it gave hubby time to realize they had a blackberry custard pie which shot to the top of his list. He ate that while he waited for the breakfast. The omelet was good but the potatoes with onion were better! Hubby said the coffee was good and didn't need chemicals; my iced tea was good, too, and I can be picky about my tea.
