If I could give a 0 rating I would my husband trusted this place with our vehicle and they failed us charged us an over charged amount to change a part that was never the exact problem he played a guessing game with our vehicle. what surprised me was after his service my husband went back to do smog and it passed !!! very strange but a day later check engine light came back on and same code popped up. When my husband went back that same morning the guy was sarcastic and made to many excuses to why the job wasn't done correctly to begin with. my husband asked for part of his money back and guy refused and said my husband needed to talk to the owner. When my husband called later that day the lady said that that mechanic was her son that she wasn't going to give my husband back any money but that he could bring car back to check lol so ridiculous to expect that anyone would ever trust this business ever again with our vehicle. Avoid this place. Save yourself some aggravation and go somewhere else. If you go for a smog check and your car fails, you are stuck to the particular garage who checked your car. ( I learned the hard way ) Choose a more professional garage. "Jay" as he calls himself, is totally rude, arrogant and knows he's " got you " till your car passes. Be warned, don't get your smog check here. You'll be in for a bad experience. I was charged $150 for a smog check. If you do not bring your car back over 14 days, you will get charged another $150. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! the guy in charged is zero professional, I paid for smog check ($67.11) which is very expensive but the price is not the bad thing. This guy is really disrespectful, he made me go 5 times one of them he was hidden to not do my work. Once you pay you always have to come back to the same place. I took my car here because I had a permanent code "jay" as he like to call himself assured me it would be the Evap purge valve so I did the work for the code to come on not even two days later mind you I paid 280 dollars for the work so I take it back to him and he tells me that it was the canister vent valve and the fuel tank pressure sensor he also tells me that they don't check the whole system just one by one even though I told him to do the entire evaporation system so he tells me he wouldn't charge for labor but the parts were 350 dollars I look online and find them for 120 I ask if I bring the parts if he would charge me labor he said no I go get the parts he puts them on then says it's 150 for the labor I told him he said he wouldn't charge me he gets defensive and says "don't switch it up on me" he told me it was for sure this part that was bad and that I would pass smog if I changed it well low and behold the light has come on once again DO NOT take your car here they make it to where you have to do multiple things just so they make their money it's a rip off would not recommend this shop read more

took my truck to another mechanic because a 'check engine' light came in. he fixed it but a week later it came back on again so he told me to bring it back in. Once again he fixed it saying he found a bad ignition coil so charge for part ONLY. A week or so later the light came back on, so I decided to try out Five J's Auto service. He looked at the parts that were installed by others and knew what the problem was. He replaced ignition coils, changed oil and filter and smogged the truck over night. haven't had a problem with it since. turns out ignition coils other mechanic installed we're not compatible with my engine causing the "check engine" light to come on. read more

Got charged $2,300 for lower control arms that I did not need. Also, I had to pay cash.

Came in for a smog on my newly bought van, it ran clean but put that it was missing a part so declared it as "tampered" on the official paper. I asked if he could fix it, he said yes, so I came in the next day to discover the smog part of the area was closed. He stated they shut down his machine and he needed a new one, but he'd fix the part that would be needed to pass and recommended me to a smog guy down the street. I went to the smog guy, he said the piece that was added wasn't fully installed and that since it was declared tampered he didn't want to go near it! The Five Js said it'd be like 7 weeks till the new machine came in, so I waited until then so he himself would do the check since he claimed it was fixed. I first came as soon as they said their machine came in, but upon arrival at 3:00 (they say they close at 4:30) he says he wont do it because he wanted to go home early. Pretty bothered but fine, I waited for a couple days when they re-opened. I came in, then I wait even longer because he got locked out of his machine! So finally the time comes for it, but my van gets funky with stalling, and then he complains to me while I fix it about waiting! Overall I just left and went somewhere else, causing me to spend a lot more money than necessary. This place only caused me stress for much longer than it should have read more

This place caused so much unnecessary stress that it is hard to decide where to begin. Our experience begin on a very positive note with "Jay" (aka John) who offered to lower the rate on the smog check because their machine was out of service that day. After waiting for about 6 days, we finally went back with the hope of getting a smog and oil change for our truck. Jay, extremely friendly and professional, got started on our vehicle right away. The issues begin in the waiting area, where my three year old son, boy-friend, and I were hanging out. When my son expressed he had to use the restroom, my bf asked the old man (supervisor) if there was a restroom he could use. His exact words were "Hey, is there a restroom my son could use or a bush anywhere around? Hahaha" The "bush" comment was a complete joke. The man told him there was a bush somewhere along the side-back area. My bf- thinking the man understood he was only looking for a restroom- went outside to look for the facility. A minute later I saw him being escorted to the restroom (which was right next door) by Jay. When my son and bf returned, the old man asked my bf if he found the bush and my bf responded "yes". This is where things got real.... The old man started YELLING at my bf statements like: "you filthy pig", "you speak like Trump", "don't you ever ask me something like that again", "get out"... My bf-very confused- was very apologetic and continuously asked him to please calm down because our three year old son was there. The old man actually yelled louder, so much so that my three year old son begin crying and stating that he wanted to leave. He then screamed "get out!" and asked Jay to stop working on our truck. BTW, my bf is Mexican and speaks English/Spanish perfectly. Hahaha Anyway, this was a horrible experience and an unfortunate misunderstanding. If you plan on going, don't joke with the old man and stick to Jay. Better yet, just don't go! read more

This review is long over due. I used to come here for oil changes mainly all the time. They were quick and efficient. I was a loyal customer and even brought over a friend. We went religiously for oil changes. My friend then started having some trouble with her car and she took it to five j's she spoke with the older of the two men and said he could fix it. We then scheduled a appointment and she brought over the car, he took about a couple hours to fix it and everything was great..... Until we turned on the car and the alarm started going off.. he said he could deactivate it. And next thing we knew he cut the alarm system. Although me and my friend don't know much about cars we knew something wasn't right here. He then explained that the horn wouldn't work and the alarm system was basically inoperable but he could fix it. We then returned a week later to solve the issue and he said it would cost us above $200 to fix! For a problem he had caused! We were outraged! Why should we pay for a damage cost by him. If he wasn't competent enough to reset the alarm a different way he should have said so and we would have went elsewhere. read more
