Five Guys in Didsbury is located at Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre, a short walk away from East Didsbury's Metrolink. There are many other restaurants and a cinema nearby, and free on-site parking.
The interior had the typical red and white theme that you'd find in every Five Guys, with a mix of high and low seating. It could have been slightly cleaner though with some tables and seating visibly unclean and no one was wiping them down.
I did find it weird how they had the ketchup and mayo pumps in different places, the mayo was near the order pick-up point and the ketchup was beside the drinks, it's the first time I've visited Five Guys and they weren't actually together.
I ordered a Little Cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap, I ordered it with fresh onions and tomatoes. As I'm gluten-free, I'm unable to have the bun, but the lettuce wrap is a reasonable alternative, although I'd prefer to have a real bun, it's much better than what McDonald's and Co can offer.
The staff members were friendly and apologised for the wait for my food. They did originally note my order down wrong, it's lucky I noticed in time on my receipt as they would have swapped the tomatoes with pickles.
My food was fine, the burger had nice flavours, and a decent amount of fillings, although the lettuce wrap didn't seem big enough to hold the burger, and I had to finish it off with a knife and fork. The chips were seasoned nicely but were a little overcooked for my liking and weren't fully hot, they also put the chips and the burger in the same bag, which made it more difficult to get my food out without spilling even more inside the bag.
I did find it to be a little pricey, for a "Little" Cheeseburger and Fries, coming to £11,90 without a drink, but it was no more expensive (or less expensive) than any other Five Guys in town.
3* - Not the best Five Guys in the area but the food is reasonable and the staff are nice, but many improvements could be made. read more
