Well my son LOVES the burgers here. The second bests burgers in the world per him. The choices are limited double or single burgers with options of cheese or bacon. Hotdogs and 3 types of sandwiches, Veggie, BLT or Grilled. So to me they are highly focused and precise so their food will be great. The beef they use is100% fresh no fillers or preservatives. And they post where they spice the fries from daily. Literally everyone I know flipped out when Five Guys opened in Greensboro. I had to try it, of course. Much to my surprise, Five Guys wasn't nearly as special and amazing as everyone had lead me to believe. You choose your base burger: Single, or double, with or without cheese, with or without bacon, and then you add your toppings. Five Guy's only offers ONE type of cheese, though, which is American (gag). They've got a variety of things like onions, jalapenos (fresh!), steak sauce, BBQ sauce, and the usual veggies. They don't charge you the extras, no matter how many you'd like piled on. I got a bacon cheeseburger. The bacon was overcooked beyond belief. It crumbled into dust and tasted foul. The American cheese was no great addition, either. I prefer my cheese made of milk, not plastic. The burger itself was not seasoned at all and had no flavor, it tasted like the greasy grill that it was cooked on. I shared an order of their "famous" fresh-cut fries with my husband. I mean, the bags of potatoes line the dining room for heaven sake, they must be great fries, right?! WRONG! The fries were soggy, undercooked, and greasy. Unremarkable to say the least. Oh, and if you like to eat peanuts out of a community bin that everyone sticks their germ-y mitts into, and then throw the shells on the floor....this might be the place for you! It's peanut mayhem! I'd never been to a Five Guys before Greensboro location opened, and I have to admit that I am no stranger to great burgers. Five Guys, however, has proven to be perhaps the best burger I've ever had. I've been back to Five Guys 3 times now, each time ordering the same thing - the Cheeseburger (which is actually a double cheeseburger; the 'small' cheeseburger is apparently the single patty). The burger is a generous portion, but not too much, and perfectly cooked. Interestingly, it is cooked well done, which is generally not my preference, but theirs remains tender and juicy in spite of being fully cooked. Cheese is also 'just right' - melted, but not sliding off the sandwich. There are a number of toppings available at no additional charge; I stuck to lettuce, onion, mustard and mayo, which proved to be fantastic. I have tried the fries on one visit, which were very good but way too large a portion to consider eating unless you're sharing. Since my last two visits were quick lunches between appointments, I stuck to just the burger, with a few peanuts thrown in for good measure. Five Guys staff are very pleasant, and the service is quick. The restaurant also seems to be kept very clean, and as diners leave staff members hustle to clean the tables and sweep peanuts off the floor. This place cooks up a pretty decent burger. My issue with it is the amount of grease you get with every bite. The burger does taste good and of course the fires are excellent although greasy as well. The place was really backed up with people lined up all the way out of the door. Trouble was they only had one person on the cash register. That poor guy was working his tail off! While it's not exactly a fast food restaurant because your burger is cooked to order, I find it lands above the typical fast food chains yet not on par with the locally owned burgers such as Emma's, Hops, or Big Burger Spot. I really enjoyed my Cajun seasoned fries. I like softer fries instead of crispy. The single cheeseburger All the Way was good however I think if one were to take away the toppings, you will find the meat itself alone is very very bland. NC - you need more Five Guys because your Cookouts are only good for milkshakes. I've NEVER been impressed with Cookout because you're just trying to settle for the crappy. In & Out and Five Guys -- have always been 10 classes above cookout. But the milkshakes are a different story. So, for a good burger I go to 5 guys and skip the drink and have to go to a Cookout if I'm feeling up to it and get a milkshake. My diet hates me and I have to go to the gym and go crazy to burn it off but its all worth it. This Five guys has a weird parking lot but its all that's needed. I love Five Guys burgers. Not the best I've had, but still, pretty darn good. Everytime I come in here the price for it goes up. Yet, everytime, I pay it, lol. One can order either a hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon hamburger, or bacon cheeseburger. All are also available in a smaller size. Kosher hot dogs (bacon and/or cheese optional for extra $), veggie sandwich (cheese and blt optional for extra $) are sold here as well. There are a ton of add-on toppings available for no extra charge. I usually get a bacon cheeseburger, with lettuce, jalapenos, and mustard, no fries. This particular time, I ordered regular fries. There is no difference between the regular and cajun fries. They both had a lot of seasoning on it, so you can't tell between the two. The employees are usually pretty chill, but look overworked. There's usually peanut shells on the floor by the counter. It's their free appetizer of sorts, I guess. There is plenty of seating and outdoor seats is available as well. When you head in here, be prepared to eat a lot! Their regular cheeseburger has two patties (a double cheeseburger) and they have a "Little Burger" that has just one piece of meat. Five Guys offers the best traditional burger in Greensboro, in my opinion (lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion, ketchup & mustard). I always get "all the way," which includes mushrooms alongside the aforementioned. The burgers are always fresh (not frozen), juicy and delicious. With a great burger should always be great fries, and that is muy bueno at this place. The fries are fresh cut, my favorite type of fry. The peanuts are a cute courtesy too. This is a nice place to get a quick meal. The meat tastes very fresh and the fries are delicious. I always am pleased when the fountain drinks offer diet Barq's. My standard choice is a bun less hamburger. You can choose to get it in lettuce leaves or in a bowl. The leaves have always been fresh, crispy, and large. My kids love the grilled cheese and the hotdogs. Don't go here if you have a peanut allergy! There are tables like ours that take advantage of the free peanuts you shell and eat at your table. Just ate at Five Guys in Greensboro in the Friendly Shopping Center. All I can say is Shazaam!! Service is friendly and fast. Burger was cooked to perfection and I ordered it all the way so it packed a punch with tons of flavor! mmmmmmmmm mmmmm--fries can't be beat b/c they are fresh cut and cooked to order. A small burger, small fry and large drink was $10...but well worth it compared to a combo at that burger joint with the "angus" burgers that's just a tiny bit cheaper in price, but waaaaaaaay cheaper in quality.
