I have used Five Forks Mower for a few years. I don't think I have ever worked with a better company. I called and my riding mower was picked up, fixed, and returned. One start is to high, it won't let me post a negative star rating. Rude unprofessional and disrespectful to me and my wife. I will never do business with this company again and will recommend to everyone I come across not to patronize this company. After the insulting comments made to my wife by the owner (Melissa) , we will go anywhere and spend double rather than deal with these backwoods people. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I'M DONE. I've taken my lawn mower here a few times for repairs over the last couple years. Repairs and prices were fair. Not anymore. I took my mower in (used twice in May 2021 by me) and wouldn't start in Sept. They replaced the carb (April 2020 not a typo), In Jan 2021, they sharpened the blade, replaced the spark plug, adjusted the pull coil, governor spring, changed the oil and was "winterized" by them with all that plus a stabilizer I purchased from them, etc. When I asked why a carb should only last 16 months, the carbs are a bad design according to 5 Forks. My bill was $140 which I asked for a compromise as I didn't ask for that and should have been called for authorization which I found out today you have to request. Otherwise they just go ahead. (Their reason: a new carb is $30, to clean an old one $55). I never asked for blade sharpening, spark plug, oil change. Spark plug was 9 months old. Filter was new and clean. Oil change needed after 2 uses? I could MAYBE see that I guess. The exchange was admittedly heated on both sides. The owner (assuming) Randy was condescending. I.e., "do I know how to take the air filter cover off?" etc. Wow. Yes I do actually. He took $35 off my bill and said "our business relationship is done. I will have a note in our computer to not do business with you again." I said that's fine with me. read more

I was disappointed to have an extremely negative experience at Five Forks Mower Sales and Repairs (denoted hereafter as FFMSR). I have never left a negative review for any single business before - people make mistakes and I understand that is a part of life, but I've never quite experienced what I experienced there. A summary statement is below, with a complete version on the Angie's List website, but which I am prevented from posting here due to limits on the number of characters. Summary: FFMSR made an omission in my mower service, at which point, after I called to figure out what happened, the owner (Randy) returned my call originally acted as if he was going to treat me fairly on the phone, then, when I returned to the location, and after he offered to complete the original service request for free, which offer I accepted after he explained it and I thought it over, the owner started yelling and cursing at me and telling me to leave the premises, under no provocation (at least that I know of) from me. FFMSR failed to complete the initial service I requested (cleaning of the carburetor), until the the owner informed me that that was never done and claimed that I had not requested it. The owner claimed I was "asking the same damn question over and over." I'm not sure what the question was which prompted his cursing, but I will grant that I am not an expert in the mechanical issues, which prompted some questions by me (these questions were asked not rhetorically or sarcastically, but with the intent of trying to make a decision). If I were more knowledgeable about the mechanical issues, I wouldn't have needed a repair service. read more

I dropped off my mower Tue, June 7, and told them I needed the two drive belts replaced. On Friday, June 10 they called and told me they would have to order one of the drive belts unless I wanted to search for the belt at a local landscape supply store; they said they had the other belt. Though I was a little taken aback that I had to find, and deliver, them a belt, I did just that. On Wed of the next week, now June 15, I called to my inquire about the mower. They told me they had to order the other drive belt, and it was supposed to be in that day. I exploded; I could have delivered them the other drive belt, along with the other one I delivered to them the previous week. I called again on Friday morning, now June 17, and they told me that the mower was done. After unloading the mower, I started it up; I did not go more than 5 feet on the grass when the back left wheel fell off. C'mon, you can't make this stuff up. read more
