The seats are individual seats with armrests and big enough so that you don't feel like you are sitting in someone else's personal space. The online ticket purchase was easy and pickup was fast. You can't beat $3 cans of beer at a concert. Of course being a casino there's even a few dozen slot machines within the venue to pass the time while waiting for your act to start. We saw The Struts and they really put on a high energy show. Our tickets were $30 and with that we were within touching distance of the group throughout the show. This was our first venture to Mississippi Moon Bar and the Diamond Jo Casino, and likely will not be our last.

However we were able to get her down there anyway. I almost laughed out loud at their definition of "full". In New Orleans or Philly, this floor would only be considered 2/3 full. There was plenty of room which made it great! The acoustics were quite good. Great sight lines. Staff friendly and drinks cheap. No one was smoking in the music venue, only in the casino itself. Free garage parking. There are a couple of restaurants and a Subway if you want a quick hoagie. I did not eat here.

The one time I ever heard of some caveman trying to start something, the owner handled him with decisive authority and ejected him, protecting his customers and the vibe. A German friend was in town recently, and was blown away by seeing on the shelf a Munich beer from his neighborhood that had just started production maybe a year prior. This is the Goldilocks of wine/beer/cocktail bars: no snootiness, no boorishness. Just good folks serving good drinks like they know what they're doing. Dubuque's Millwork District is lucky to have them.

There was multiple movies and exhibits about early travel on the mississippi river and also real boat engines of steamboats and other river vessels. We spent about two hours there , exploring the inside and the outside of the museum. Very enjoyable and inexpensive experience for people of all ages.
