I finally came across Coffee By Zion after my regular coffee place closed due to their flaky staff…read more As I stepped into this place, I was pleasantly surprised by the somewhat hipster post-modern interior design. Seating is also pretty comfortable, and they offer a wide range of espresso and coffee beverages, including a cold brew, that I must try at some point. This place also taps in to the health food segment, and offers muesli and superfood (açai) and smoothies, while also taking a swing at millennials with money- with their cold brews, and artisanal espresso beverages. They also offer conventional items like croissants, or the ever so popular "all day breakfasts" that every coffee joint in the area seems to have its own version of. Of the breakfasts on offer, I tried the highly recommended meat lovers breakfast which came with lots of bacon, sausages, a poached egg, and ham. Based on the fact that I felt that that was way too much deli meat for me to handle, it seems I don't love meat as much as a I think I do. It would probably be better to have an extra poached egg, but less meat, or more a little more rocket. I'd probably try the all day breakfast next time. I'm not so sure about their coffee, I admittedly did get the latte so I can't really assess the coffee effectively in terms of flavour, aroma and acidity, but I could probably try something next milky next time. Good espresso art though.

When I saw the word 'brekkie', I immediately thought of Australia - it means 'breakfast' in their lingo. I'm thinking this cafe is possibly be Australian inspired :) This dish was prepared by the lady behind the counter with a small portable stove. I can feel the love as she delicately prepares this for us! We also ordered the Lavender Latte and the Matcha Magic. What is a Matcha Magic you ask? It is a Matcha Latte with a shot of espresso! Perfect for those who loves Matcha but also needed that caffeine boost lol. The Lavender Latte, surprisingly, does not have the usual overpowering lavender kick... it was very light and soothing. Recommendation: Would Why50 consider making a Lavender Mocha? ^^ Chocolate actually goes well together with the lavender taste ;) Keep up the great work!

They don't offer wifi but it's a good place to enjoy brunch and meet with friends.

Studio Caffeine is a great spot to get a well-made fry up/English breakfast in a few different…read morevarieties along with some strong espresso to wake yourself up. The restaurant is located right on Temple Street, easy to find. The inside is small, cozy, and clean, decorated in a rustic style with maybe 10 tables or so. When I arrived at about 10:30 AM on a Saturday there were several open tables, but by the time I left (a little after 11) the restaurant was full, so you may need to wait a bit if you arrive during rush times. The ordering process is order-at-the-counter style, with a staffer bringing your food and/or drinks when they're ready. Like many places in Hong Kong, Studio Caffeine does not seem to have drip coffee available, so if you're just a plain black coffee drinker like me, you'll have to be okay with an Americano or a shot of espresso. My Americano was pretty good, though not the best, but the prices here are extremely reasonable so no complaints. As mentioned, the English breakfast comes in a few different varieties. I went with the "Classic," which consists of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast, bacon, pork sausage, and salad. Each item was very good (and again, excellent value for the price, though I would have liked to see maybe a little more protein and a little less lettuce) and I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. Overall, a fast and delicious experience at Studio Caffeine and I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast western-style breakfast in the area.

It's just a 4 minute walk from Exit D, Jordan MTR station- convenient for anyone who's around TST. MUST-TRY: signature toast with nine homemade jams ($48)! This is a great way to sample their homemade jams, which they sell in jars for $48-68 HKD each. The toast is very crisp and the jams are bomb. My favorite is the lychee one! My foodie friend got the full English breakfast and said it was great. I didn't try it so I can't give my opinion but he gives his seal of approval and recommends. PASS: Pastas and risottos probably aren't the best thing to order here. Risotto is a hit or miss dish for me- I got a pumpkin risotto and the flavor was fine but it was overcooked and too mushy for my liking. Just keep in mind that they specialize in breakfast/brunch items and stick to those dishes. All in all, worth trying out. I recommend Let's Jam if you're a brunch lover!

While all of the cakes and treats are beautiful, they are also pricey. It's hard to say this is a good value but I also did not feel that ripped off. The popular Hokkaido Flan, known by many as Hong Kong's most expensive egg tart, was great. It doesn't seem that they put them out on display anymore. If you would like to try one, I recommend ordering online. Otherwise, your chance of randomly dropping by and finding them for sale is pretty low. I think this would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion or even to treat yourself after a good/bad day.

It's technically a dan tat and is still a dan tat, yet is so rich and decadent that it's mind-bending (not blowing, just bending).
