From the moment I saw the stunning grounds (the beautiful house, the pool, the tennis court, the llamas!) at the Five Bridge Inn, I knew I wanted it to be my wedding location; after discovering that the contract covered 24 hours on the property, I was completely sold. But there are so many other reasons why I've raved to friends and family about this venue; here are just a few: - Pavilion tent included - Option to host your rehearsal dinner on-site and sleep over the night before the wedding - Complete flexibility with choice of vendors (catering, DJ, photog, etc) - Free breakfast for bridal party the day of the wedding, and guests the morning after the wedding - After-hours bonfire provided for post-rehearsal hangouts (no issues with making noise, either) - Dedicated space for hair and makeup My experience with the owner of the Five Bridge Inn, Ann Messenger, was fantastic; she responded quickly to my questions via email, and had very helpful suggestions (including an intro to my day-of coordinator and photographer, both of whom were absolutely stellar). My only tip to brides who book this venue would be to keep close track of deposits and payments, and ask upfront what additional expenses you might be incurring; the Inn can be a little disorganized when it comes to finances. That said - you couldn't ask for a better outdoor venue. If you can manage to snag an open date at the Five Bridge, you are going to have the time of your life. I know I did.

Be prepared to have your guests be underwhelmed and disappointed with the venue. Not a good experience.

It is different every day. It appears very Victorian, but there is a hidden TV in one of the downstairs rooms, and there is free wi-fi. It is tricky to get to, but well worth the trip. If you are going to be anywhere near Woonsocket, this is the place to stay. Heck, if you are staying in Providence, I'd still drive here to stay. This was our second time here (we stayed for 4 days both times).

We spent one night at this lovely old Victorian mansion. The building itself, quaint and filled…read morewith antiques, is charming and quite comfortable. We stayed in the Garden Room, spacious and with a king size bed, very nicely decorated. On the problem side, the room was chilly and the only heating sources came from a window air conditioner/heater, which did nothing but blow luke war air into the cool room. We chose the alternative, a small electric fire place which, over a l-o-n-g period of time actually warmed the room to a comfortable level, while adding a romantic ambience to the charming room. We had a private bathroom, well-equipped and boasting a spacious walk-in tiled shower. The bed was perfectly comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. Breakfast, the second phase ofany Bed & Breakfast experience, was okay, but not great. We had fresh fruit salad, warm corn bread, lots of delicious hot coffee, and a little tiny dry veggie frittata. Ho hum. To make matters worse, the server seemed to have nothing better to do than to hang over the back of one of the chairs and engage us in endless conversation abut her life. Not cool. Breakfast would have been improved with twice the food and none of the intrusive conversation. Overall, our stay was okay, but I think I would look elsewhere should I return to the area for an overnight stay.

We continue to love the CDH and always look to book here first when visiting our son at RISD!…read more At this point, i've probably stayed here 6 or 7 times over the past couple of years and aside from an uncomfortable breakfast during a covid holiday season (someone working breakfast accused me of not paying for the third person in our party, which I had, and even offered to explain that the office may have not communicated that to the kitchen...yet they continued to question me as all other diners watched), we have had a wonderful experience every time. The building is beautiful, every room i've ever stayed in has been lovely and the breakfast is almost always GREAT!

Found this quaint gem through Yelp reviews and tried to secure a reservation through my phone (got stuck so I had to call to follow up). Luckily the gentleman who was managing that night (I'm sorry I forgot his name due to all the stops we made), took my reservation over the phone, greeted us when we got there and made us feel welcome. Stayed in the King 3 and loved the historic feel of the place, comfy bed, sound proof glass in the room helped keep the noice down from the highway nearby and the breakfast the next morning was the best we had on our trip. Such an lovely place to stop on our travels, great find.

It's that homey…read more Gilbert's is off-the-beaten path, but yet close enough to Boston and Providence so you don't feel out of touch. For myself, I don't need a B&B with the pricey high-end amenities. When I'm on vacation or traveling, I'm either trying to get away from it all, or can drive to a shop specializing in those things if I really must. Gilbert's was perfect for me. An old family farm, converted to a B&B, was quiet and comfortable. I appreciate the classic, not-so-modern, character of an old home. The interior was tastefully and simply decorated with antique period pieces supplemented with modern decor. The yellow pine hardwood floors throughout the house were gorgeous and were what caught my eye immediately. The old barn and paddock were hiding places for the three outdoor cats. The wild turkeys occasionally perched in the tall trees. The proprietor, an adorable woman, showed me through the house with all the nooks and crannies and hidden rooms that made me realize the house was a lot bigger than it appears from the outside. I couldn't have gone wrong with any room I picked. What made it feel like home, were the interactions with the owners, who greeted me, and the other guests, both upon arrival and at the end of the day when we returned from our adventures. At end end of my visit, I didn't want to leave. I already felt like I was home. And the good-bye hug went a long way to making me wish I could stay and and the same time start planning the next visit. Just like a visit to mom 's or grandma's.

We fell in love with her, the house, everything including the murder-by-mail story behind the house from the 1800s. She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. The day of the party she was professional and hands-on, making sure everything got done on a quick timeline. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Beautiful historic building who's tour guides added in a true life murder mystery of the lady of the houses death. This really added to the event as it was so my scene and absolutely fun. I would def host an event here because unlike the Newport mansions I could touch things and see things in the midst of being historically preserved since they're still restoring the house.
