In this case, I was next door at my local Kroger looking through their selection of cards. I absolutely just could not find what I was looking for. I literally had the thought, "I wish I knew if there was a Hallmark store around here". Being new to the area, I honestly didn't realize there was one right next door. I went in there this week with my daughter looking to get Mom a birthday card and possibly a gift. A Christmas themed gift. They have hundreds of ornaments and many different statues to choose from. They do have a lot to offer in the gift department. Especially if you are looking for collections to build on. And of course, they've got cards. They've got cards and cards and cards!. They have cards for just about every occasion. We're in the internet age, and have been for a while. ECards just don't do a card justice. Hallmark does cards right. You'll find just about any card for any occasion with any mood. Would I go back? Definitely. So happy that I found this gem, so close to home, with such a great selection.

My wife and I bought a number of items that we will either use or give as gifts next Christmas. Also, the help that we received from the two people working (one male/one female) was phenomenal! They were very patient about helping us get the correct item into the correct box. In general, Hallmark stores are wonderful with a great, quality selection of items. It's unfortunate that people don't send "real" cards as much anymore.

I'm kinda confused by the pharmacy part. You can buy your average, everyday shampoos, body washes, or razors here. It feels like an odd use of space - especially when these items are definitely cheaper at your big box store. The rest of the store is pretty cool though. From garden supplies to unique pens to seasonal decor to toys I've never seen to baby and dog gear, there's a mini half-aisle dedicated to most types of "stuff". A lot of it is brands and styles I haven't seen at big-box stores, and it all looks way higher quality than dollar stores. All prices end in a flat number ($5 vs $4.99) and everything looked properly signed. Prices aren't dollar store cheap, but they're not pricy either. Most everything average is in the $3 to $8 range. I found lots of cute little things that would make great gifts; lots of branded merch (Bluey, Pokemon, Hello Kitty, etc.) Lots of stuff to look through. Most that you probably don't *need*, but I found a lot of stuff I wanted. The store was nicely organized, pretty clean, and well-stocked and faced. The two employees were really friendly. Both greeted me upon entry and asked if I needed anything when I was staring at a display for awhile. Bathroom was clean and single-room unisex too. It felt fun and playful and welcoming to shop there, and I'll definitely be back.

It is what it is…read more I'm not a big shopping guy and even less a TJ Maxx guy. But, from time-to-time, I am dragged in there. So, if you've ever been to a TJ Maxx, you'll understand where I'm coming from. They place is always a disaster with a moderate rhyme-or-reason to where things are. Sure, you can find the luggage section, or the shoe aisles, or clothes, etc. But, you might be at the shoe rack and come across a decent pair of dress shoes, right next to a pair of slippers, right next to those measuring cups for the kitchen that you suddenly had to have. Now, I'm not sure if that's how TJ Maxx gets you or if that's just lazy customers. Either way, it's genius. Anyone who says that more than 75% of the time the go into a TJ Maxx for something specific but ultimately walk out with 1 to 9 items that they didn't come in for would be lying. On top of that, they're walking out with those 1 to 9 other items and in many cases, not what they originally came in for. These are hard facts. It's a brilliant marketing scheme. Being completely bewildered in an aisle that seemed to make very little sense to me, I asked on of the workers who was stocking the shelves how she knew where to even put things. I had been browsing through this aisle for a few minutes and noticed her taking things off of her stock cart and putting them on shelves, in between other completely related items. She said that in some cases they have a general idea where things go and just find a space. That's a perfect way to describe many of the aisles of TJ Maxx. Again - this is either insane or genius. I'm guessing it's the latter. Would I go back? I don't know. Probably. I would never think of going there. I'll never say, "hey, I need to run to TJ Maxx". But thinking about it, I should. Because they honestly seem to have everything you could ever think of. This isn't a bad review. Like TJ Maxx, it's a very hard to define review. If you like browsing, look no further. You could spend hours here. Think of it as an indoor scavenger hunt. Pro Tip: If you're looking for something in particular and don't find it in the area you locate that has similar items....say shoes... keep looking in other aisles around that general area or quarter of that part of the store. You may still find what you're looking for among things that are completely unrelated. This too, is a fact. I have literally had this experience myself. Think of it as a real life Highlights magazine picture search. I can almost guarantee if you look closely between the items in the aisle that has hard candies, holiday gnomes, assorted Keurig K-cups and socks, there is a real good chance you'll find that meat thermometer between the toddler size tap shoes and gourmet peanut brittle.

The selection that they carry is a lot more than a lot of the other FYE's. The employees here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. So why no five stars? Well first off its an FYE so their prices for anything non-used are pretty outrageous. They always have decent sales going on, but for just regular from the rack items..holy hell. Now the big reason it's not a five star review..and the reason I feel it's too much to even give four stars for..is that again it's an FYE and they have that horrible practice of harassing you at the registers to join their club or buy a magazine subscription or sign up for these other things. I will never understand the ideology behind basically punishing your customers for actually making a purchase with this harassment. It's not the cashiers fault either, as I assume they have quotas to meet and get disciplinary action against them if they don't meet them. So yeah, it's super cool to have a great conversation with an employee, joke around and have a good time, then completely piss them off at the registers by turning down all their offers. Such a great dynamic you've created for your customers FYE!
