If you are expecting to walk in and find store shelves lined with merchandise then you're going to be shocked. The store is an old school "junk" shop where there are mountains of stuff stacked on top of each other. I said you have to be in the right mood because this isn't a casual stop in, no you have to be willing to get on your knees and possibly your hands, dig through stuff, ask questions. Sadly I was not in the mood on this trip, but I still managed to find some cool stuff! The owner is friendly and very helpful. If you have a few hours, a bigger car, and a need to dig through stuff to find treasure then you've found your place.

The girl who "helped" me could not even understand how she was going to get the plates attached to the plaque off. To say she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, is an insult to dull blades. When I was able to show her the screws that attached the plate to the plaque and that they would be able to screw them off, she got around to writing up my order, without quoting me the price. I was going to need 5 plates engraved in total (3 from one plaque and 2 from the other) She rang up my order and it came up 108 dollars!! 1 hundred and 8 freaking dollars!! Lucky for me my wife was with me cause she gave me a death stare that communicated to me bad things if I slid my cc thru the machine. Needless to say, I did not get the plaques engraved there. In the end, I brought them to a local trophy store (Crown Trophy in Emmaus, PA). The total to get the 2 plaques engraved?? 15 dollars!! And, they did a great job, even replacing one of the plates that was really scratched up, for free. The THING I will REMEMBER about this experience is never go to Things Remembered again!

I say "customer" but it's actually free to visit which is amazing and a great way to encourage the community to immerse themselves in art. There's a fun children's room too on the second floor to keep kids active if wandering the exhibit rooms isn't for them. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the giftshop has all kinds of unique items that you'd expect to find in a museum giftshop. I try to stop in anytime I'm in Allentown...it's an artistic oasis in the city.

I've received a decent amount of flower arrangements in my lifetime, and all have been very…read morebeautiful. Today I received my first arrangement from Ashley's Florist. Recently I've been going through some things. Still, I was surprised to see a florist van pull up in front of my house and the delivery man head towards my front door. The moment I caught a glimpse of the arrangement, my eyes bugged out and my mouth dropped. A cat and a fish made of flowers?!!! I've had flowers arrive in martini glasses and rabbits at Easter time but never something like this. Making it even more special is that the arrangement came from my mother-in-law. I haven't always been her favorite person so for her to send me flowers, let alone flowers that look like a cat (she's a dog person), it is quite a step forward--no, a leap forward--in our relationship.
